I couldn't care if it was judged more on speed power flow, but Toledo's first wave should have been at least two points higher

I think the judges must want to see the surfers hanging ten maybe even a few soul arches, the high performance surfing doesn't seem to impress them.

6.67 was fair for Filipe cause it is a point break where speed power and flow are extremely important not just doing an air like at a Brazilian beach break. Filipe was ripping and is almost unbeatable in 2 foot waves like this. It would be cool to see this heat run in 4 to 6 foot snapper so parko can show his power

Are you F-ing kidding me?!!! A 6.67?!!! I know the judges have to keep the scale low in the first heat of the day, but WTF? Eventually, Toledo injures himself and loses to Wilko, but compare their waves in the semifinal. Toledo should have faced Andino in the final. I don't get it. His opener was not "excellent"? And Wilco is a great guy, but give me a break. Could anyone look more sluggish and struggling on these waves? Judges worried about three Brazilian champions in a row? What a joke. Seriously embarrassing.

Bro they're bias as fuck, I'm an Aussie my self but idgaf about Brazilians I love Toledo he is is probably the best surfer in world next to John John or possibly better... I thought 9.50-10 what more could he have done? Judges aren't easily impressed at all. Maybe he needed to do a full rotation and air reverse and a backflip to get the rest of the random points... Disappointing these special judges

How is possible that two airs reverse in a wave (6.67) was so similar to the simple turns of Parko (6.63), bros?......so primitive!

Noahxdeath - yeah, a backflip might have got him a low 8. I also want someone to tell me how Julian lost at Margie's. Ridiculous. Makes me not want to watch.
