Damn a car food reviewer who's actually not overly critical and just reviews the food in a enjoyable manner? Dope. You've got a sub my man. Edit: Welp I didn't expect this to actually get a reply from the dudes channel much less an immense amount of backlash towards Chime Time. I think he's a fine dude I just don't like the way he reviews food. Tis my opinion 👍.
i just smile when i saw the name of the store "point point" 😅😍 its literally a basic English word for "TURO TURO", the owner of that restaurant is soooo genius😍😍, proud Filipina here
lmao same, it made me smile too, they literally just translated Turo Turo word for word xD and it's cool that it rhymes with "joint" too so yeah the name is pretty genius
@@MrCoe ok so basically here in the Philippines there are these streetside restaurants called "turo-turo" and the dishes are all laid out in the counter in massive batches and you "point" at the dishes you wish to order. "turo" literally translates to "point" so "turo-turo" when translated directly to english is "point-point". hope this helped 😄😄
@@aldibaranlabalan2825 well when people talk about best food by culture the answers are usually Italian, Mexican, Indian. Middle Eastern. Japanese, Chinese (Americanized) I've never heard someone put Philippine Food up there. And it rightfully should be. It's absolutely delicious
Yes the Philippines is just so beautiful, the food incredible and soooo delicious, and the people some of the sweetest and most kind you will ever know. Makes me want to return asap.
Filipino food is some of the BEST food! I work with a lot of Filipinos and when we have pot lucks they don’t mess around! My favorites are the lumpia, the Pancit, and the bbq. Also their desserts are wonderful! The cakes are not too sweet like their mango cake and their ube cake. They also have a dessert called Biko. It’s delicious!
The Dip is probably the store bought sauce that all the Filipinos love. the brand translates to Mr. Thomas' Sauce, it costs about $0.50 for a 12oz sized bottle full of it
That "peanut" sauce isn't peanut sauce. It's actually usually made of liver. But the most famous Mang Tomas brand has removed ground liver from its main ingredients so now it's just made of bread crumbs, vinegar, etc. We just usually call it "lechon sauce".
@@reynaldjohncatriz some lechon roasters especially in laloma or cebu are using their own recipes of liver sauce and it taste like mang tomas it is just more thicker, darker and more tastier
Stop, you're making me remember my college days when me and my friend used to eat this for lunch... Good times, man.. Good times. I miss "Manang's". Also, you're making me crave for some crispy pork belly
Yoh try burmese food too! I recommend you to try mohinga which is the national dish, then tea leaf salad and with a simple cup of burmese style milk tea. Make sure you have some coconut wheat cake either. You’re welcome!
Yes, we love lechon kawali. It’s a boild, dried and chilled then deep fried pork ribs that comes with “sarsa” (sauce/dip sort of gravy like) or “Mang Tomas” dip. The sisig is a Kapampangan pork dish that’s very famous. And sinangag (garlic rice) which is a favorite type of rice in every household in the Philippines.
Apaka supportive ng mother nila cong, alam nya ung pkiramram n walang ibang aasikaso s mga anak nya dati kaya binubuhos ung pagmmahal kina vien❤❤ kaya pinagpala sila s buhay ❤
@@_vyyy mangmang naman talaga kagaya mo. laging isisingit ang proud kahit third world country ang pinas. at proud kasi corrupt ang gobyerno at palpak si digong at bbm 🤣🤣🤣
Dooood we were there today because of you! And my Filipina gf said that was the best pancite shes ever had. And omfg that lechon was soooooo good!! Nice white meat and crispy chicharrón skin
I have had Filipino food several times in the past, but it’s been way too long and I have to get some of all of what you were having right there because it looked and sounded wayyyyyy too good!! 😋
When I was a kid we used to rotate the three holidays between my family, my adopted Uncle and Aunt, and a Filipino family who my adopted uncle managed to nearly single-handedly get out of the Philippines to here (they were Protestant and had suffered persecution). Anyway, we quickly fell in *love* with the food they would make. It became a great source of amusement to get into a conversation once Halloween was past about our enthusiasm for the upcoming culinary opportunities. You'd say 'I can't wait for the turkey and dressing, the sweet potatoes, the lumpia and pancit...' they would be nodding 'til the last two and then stop and say "Huh??" 😁 Haven't had that pancit in almost 40 years now. 😔
Making me hungry watching you eating lechon haven’t been eating that for a while it’s mouth watering I miss all this Filipino food… enjoy and I’am glad you like our delicious food
@@pompeiipamaran2010 Thailand has about 35million tourists so their food caters to white foreigner taste. Filipino food caters to local taste so they don't westernize their cuisine.
I'd highly recommend the White Rabbit food truck if you ever get the chance. Their food is "Filipino Fusion", so they serve stuff like pork sisig tacos, chicken adobo burritos etc. They're from the LA area and the food is super good!
Try some Cambodian food. I feel like it doesn’t get much recognition from food reviewers despite Viet and Thai being so popular but there’s some interesting stuff in that cuisine
The shop is called "Point-point" because its translated to "turo-turo" in Tagalog which means to just point the food with your finger upon ordering from an array of delicacies.
Go to SoCal and you will find a hell of alot of Filipino restaurants. One of my favorites was Erlindas, crunchiest Lechon I've ever had. Sadly it's permanently closed😢.
Point-Point means "Turo-turo" in Tagalog, Philippines' major dialect, which is a cafeteria style of diner where you literally point, "turo" in Tagalog, what you want to order.
fun fact: point-point in direct translation to tagalog means, turo-turo. in the philippines we have this small eateries (carinderia) also known as turo-turo, because you literally have to point out the dishes you want to eat because all of the dishes are displayed for you to see. prices are way cheaper in turo-turo because it is a mom&pop shop, and servings is just enough for a single person.
I personally appreciate your way of introducing Filipino Dishes to the World.. 💕🇵🇭.. By the way, that Lechon sauce (it's Mashed Pork Liver, Vinegar, Brown Sugar, Spices, Flour, Corn Starch.. U can also make another Lechon Dish together with Lechon Sauce.. "Lechon Paksiw".. 💕🇵🇭 Thanks Bro!
Made my chuckle whenI saw the name of the restaurant. “Point-Point” is “Turo-Turo”. Means pointing with your index finger. Lol! That’s how you order on local food joints and street stalls.
