IS CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY GETTING BUSY STREETS AGAIN?
In this quarantine life video from the Philippines, you will see myself and Bret dealing with a rat problem. Then, I end up having a pretty typical day at home, except with a special visit from a friend. Oh, and I flew my drone at the end of the day in Cagayan de Oro... I didn't expect to see so many vehicles around. The streets had been a lot quieter recently due to the Coronavirus Pandemic... but they seemed quite busy on this evening.
When I say busy... I am referring to comparing with previous weeks of quarantine.
This is quarantine life in Mindanao for two Canadians...

Oh yeah been waiting 😁, buy a mouse trap use “mouse trap board”,use the bigger one for mama rat. Know their trail and put it there, but you need to transfer it from time to time because they are smart they know that there’s a trap and avoid it, that’s what I did when I caught the mama rat in our house. She never expect that I put the trap in different location but on the same trail she is traversing. Buy mouse board trap it’s more effective than the sticky paper. It’s a board with sticky gel on it, do not use poison like racumin. Amping mong tolo kulas (you, bit2x and cutie butter) Thanks🙏🏻❤️

I fully agree that you buy mouse trap board for mouse/mice and rat trap cage for rats/rodents and put a small piece of hotdog (cocktail size) in the trap board and trap cage as our pest control specialist, Pest Science, has proven time and time again. It has a local branch in Cagayan de Oro just in case you decide to hire them after the lockdown.

Jesus Sarsoza racumin works well but if the rat died somewhere like inside the ceiling it's difficult to clean you need to bear with the bad smell until it subsides. When they eat the racumin it won't die instantly it will keep running/crawling going back to their base or somewhere until the poison take effect.

Tips 😊 1.Check every corners of the house, make sure that there are no food or left overs nor chocolates and candies, vegies, fruits that are scattered in the corner. 2.Check your food cabinet, make sure there is no hole that the mouse can fit in. 3. make sure to take your garbage outside the house before going to sleep, ready for pick up by the garbage truck. Mouse is a scavenger, looking for food.

Tip about pronunciation: For tagalog or bisaya, omit the "th" sound for words with "t" and learn about the maragsa pronunciation for vowels a,e,i,o,u. For sure your online tutor knows about that. The vlogger Bisayang Hilaw has very good pronunciation. You can get tips from him. 😀😀😀

You need a deeper bucket(x3) like a kitchen trash bucket with a firm cardboard cover one hole in the middle w bait inside.. it can jump out of what you currently have. Tie it in place so it wont tip over..

Kulas...who is commenting on your pronunciation of Bisaya? You are taking advantage of this extended quarantine and I salute you. Pay them no mind. Maayo ang imong gibuhat! Love your videos...however...your trap? Great idea however...do this: get a new bag and make the same holes. Rub the peanut butter same place. However, loosen up the material keeping the bag tight...but make it look like it's tight...when the rat steps on it? It will fall in. Good luck sir. We are all rooting for you guys! I think I've seen every video you ever made. It's required viewing every night here in Arizona. My wife is from Cebu and jeez I hope we can visit this June...take care man and power on!!!

Maybe once you are through with your cebuano dialect course, you could make several vlogs from greetings, every day conversations, buying and haggling to get fair price, dining and foods including condiments, etc. I been trying to learn it and having a hard time but coming from you with your down to earth and bubbly personality, I think I will be on the way to finally learning it and conversing with confidence to Cebuano speaking people.

Have you guys ever tried Maalat salad? You just need itlog maalat (very distinctive here because they’re eggs colored in violet and can be found in grocery stores), dice some onions and kamatis and drizzle a bit of kalamansi and a dash of pepper and BOOM, you have heaven my guy.

Good job for cleaning your house. If you can also clean downstairs that rat will stop coming back. Don’t leave any crambs or food where the rat can reach it.

If you use the mouse cage trap, just be sure to clean it with detergent and chlorine every after catch because mouse are very smart Kulas. Dli na sila mo slod sa trap kun mka simhot sila nga naa nai nauna na ihi. If you catch one, put in a pale with water, basically drowning it. Its the proper way to do it. Goodlucc Bai

You buy a fly trap sheet, then put food in the middle. Stuart little will just stick in the sheet. that's what I did before...very effective

Hello kulas, just a little help if you could buy a bucket and a mop and dettol or zonrox/chlorine pour a little in a bucket with water try to mop your floor every once or twice a week.its hard to get rid of rats especially when there are so many stuffs, woods, etc.,outside they hide in there 😔. 14:48 this just happened here in Cebu, people dont take ECQ seriously, no social distancing during holyweek, went outside and market full of people, 2 days after, additional 8 cases. it is really hard for people who supposedly have daily income and because not all are following the rules, quarantine will be extended and a lot of people will be affected. We cannot get through this if only selected people are doing their part, need to work TOGETHER, it means each and every human being breathing need to cooperate. I know we can get through this but hopefully sooner, this too shall pass. POWER ON gihapon maskin nagkalisud!!!

the best way for you to learn a language is to try speaking it when talking to locals ...... you have some good visayan teachers right in front of you like kumar,boding & all the visayan guys in cdo city,but you ain't taking advantage of it ..... talk to them in visayan dude not in english ...... look @ bisayang hilaw & dwaine wolley,they keep speaking visayan when they're in visayan speaking towns or cities or in dwaine wolley's case he speaks tagalog, if he's in manila or waray, if he's in samar ....... good luck man !!!!!!!!

N o need to learn Visayan, English are widely spoken in Philippines since was colonized by American then. Everybody understand English but some cannot speak directly.

Kulas, I love those salted eggs fish skin, too. My niece brought some here in Vancouver when she visited us. I fell in love with them. I finally discovered them at T & T Supermarket but they cost an arm and a leg- 100g bag is like CAN$6.50

Floor waxes can be liquid or paste. Both you apply using a piece of rug.

Kyle best way to catch the rat is to buy a rat glue by bostik and spread it to a 2 feet by 1 feet board or 2 x 2 feet depends on u bigger better. And put some bait in the middle of the board. U can purchase the glue at la victoria grocery in cogon or at sm supermarket(but bot sure if in stock) ive been using this method and its very effective and cheaper. Good luck.

Mayong aga Kulas Try using flytrap put a liitle food on the center,then tape on all the sides of the flypaper.the rat will try to get the food on the flypaper and the rat will stick on the flypaper.it works!

Way back 2004-2006 i lived in an apartment/condo in Quezon City and I lived with at least three other people and i was the only Filipino..and i was the only person cleaning the house..never had a canadian housemate back then,watching this made me think i would be lucky if i had a canadian housemate cause for sure it would be awesome if there’s another hand helping me clean the house

Buy a few pads of fly paper it is the most effective way of catching rats. Peel off 2 or more flypapers then place each piece on places where the rat is often seen.

The way you speak or pronounce bisaya is very entertaining .. hahahaha, and bdw if you're going to clean your floor use some floor wax put it on your floor and scrub it using lampaso. The result is very shiny floor. Try it on your nxt vlog.

Thing about rats is they're intelligent. If you use a trap and falls for it but manages to escape, they wont fall for it again. One that always worked for me are the paper traps that have super sticky glue on them. Again, downside is if it fails, throw it away because it ain't falling for it again. One that I saw in You Tube that is super effective is sacrificing one water pet bottle (5 gallon size). No need to put water inside. Just put food that ants aren't interested in. Uncooked instant noodles are one of the rats' faves.

I suggest that you should loosen the trash bag or plastic just enough to make a pool or puddle of some sort and put some oil on it, because I think that the mouse will just slip right through one of the holes. (Trying my best to example it in english haha)

Guys, buy Racumin Rat Killer, place it on the floor, near the canal, leave it over night. The rat eats it and goes away killing himself outside the house.

You should wax the floor. The wax will make the floor shine and protect the floor from wood eating insect. And it's also an insect repellant of some sort.

Poison is the last thing if you have a pet around. Buy a sticky paper from the market, although your unwanted visitor is big I'm not sure its gonna stick itself to the paper.

Ya those chips I think I would like. Never had them before I only tried the salted egg chips but it wasn't fish skin! I really hope you guys catch that humongous rat! Poisoning the rat may get to Butter. Use traps instead. Box traps are available in the market. You can ask Boring to get them for you.
