Original video over at @RenMakesMusic I was asked to put my PayPal on here…so here ya go paypal.me/WittyNameHere1443 #songreaction #renreaction #ren #renmakesmusic
Currently binging your reactions ❤ Love. You're dialogue feels like I'm sitting next to you on the couch and we're about to watch the best thing ever ❤ which it's Ren so it's definitely gonna be the best thing ever 😂 ❤
I am enjoying your reaction. I am a person who deals with chronic illness like your sister and although I am a stranger I offer my insight into having therapy. I also have depression related to chronic pain and the knowledge that it won’t get better. I have multiple medical doctors who help me, one of the most impactful is my therapist. My therapist is not there to diagnose my depression and find the cause. She helps me develop strategies to manage my pain and stress. My pain gets worse when my mood is worse. She has helped me learn to stay calm even in distressing situations, which decreases my pain. She has also helped me change my behaviour to care for my body better. (Ie not pushing myself to get things done, to take a break when I need to, and to advocate for myself)
The different flow changes are “The Monster.” He put together a song from different flows like Frankenstein created a monster from different parts. Ren be clever. 😊💜😊
I don't like most rap to be honest. But Ren rap is different. It's not random words thrown together to make flows, it's thoughts and ideas. And he's pretty clear with his words which is nice.
I read that red and green smokebombs represent the Welsh flag dominant colors, sounded pretty reasonable to me so I accepted it as fact :) Loved your reaction, as always. Not many reactors noticed Django Reinhardt 🔥
I kinda like the yellow walls too. My sister and I rent this house and honestly I love how completely batshit random the wall colors are. The basement is yellow, the kitchen is red, there’s small room neither of us can figure out the purpose of that’s bright blue. I was never hate on a dude for Weird Al vibes. The first concert I ever went to was Weird Al and it kicked ass. I’ll totally add Prof to the great wheel! I cannot believe I didn’t make a lord of the flies connection. Intended or not, I used to be obsessed with that book. I shame myself
You mentioned Rufus (a wonderful musician stuck in a lackluster version of that song), but Jeff Buckley sings "Hallelujah" like an angel, if you haven't heard him. Jeff was an entirely different (but finite) form of passionate artistry, quite different from Ren but clearly an influence. I squealed like my 8yo daughter the day Ren broke down why he loves Jeff on a live stream. As a fellow too-deep thinker, I appreciate your reactions. There are two moments I love in each your videos: the part where I exclaim, "I have that out-there theory, too!" and the part where I raise my eyebrows and admit I never considered that observation.
Oh shit I didn’t know he did a version! Jeff Buckley is a dude I haven’t listened much to but whenever his music crosses my path I’m kinda mesmerized by this voice. Yay! Hello fellow over-thinker! 😂
Cheers Jess. Did you see Ren rapping a snippet of this song on his 'The Birth of Hi Ren' vid? (Renmakesstuff channel). I'm fascinated that he can fit breathing around all of those lyrics. I'd love to see him tackle the whole thing live! See you again in a few days 😊
I just found you a couple days ago. I enjoy your breakdowns and knowledge 💯 Thank you for being YOU and being my new friend 😉 You are pretty Rad my friend! Keep up the great work❤
So far as I'm aware, the beats that Ren bought for the Sick Boi album: Sick Boi - "ЯГА" (YAGA) (2021) by KUJO Down on the Beat - "TOXIC" (2022) by PapaPedro Lost All Faith - "Cruel Intentions" (2022) by Diamond Style Love Music, Pt. 4 - "ROOTS" (2020) by Diamond Style Masochist - "Traffic" (2017) by Diamond Style Uninvited - the song Fanum x Mina Wavii - Mind Control uses the same beat ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ADN58Y5pEBM.htmlsi=xN6_4vIBayEP_8P9 but I'm not sure where the original comes from
I like the Hey Friends intro just fine, personally! I wouldn't resent it if you came up with something you liked better or whatever, but hey friends works 😊 And I love your yellow walls, btw - I would say that I'm generally NOT into yellow as a wall colour but yours are a really peaceful background somehow. Since I'm understanding that you've just moved, I don't imagine you're responsible for having chosen the paint colours, but. For whatever it's worth, it's a little thing I'm finding I'm really enjoying! Quick random thought triggered by you mention the Mr Rogers art piece thing - have you checked out Prof yet? He brought Ren in to feature on his recent drop Pain Salesman. Now, Pain Salesman isn't my favourite thing from Ren; I actually don't really enjoy his part at all (though I can appreciate the lyric-writing skill) but Prof is worth checking out! I've fallen in love with his stuff. Some highlights: - often raps in melodic/sing-songy cadences - plays with how words sound (not sure how else to describe that - Ren does it too) - has a potent singing voice - MASTERFUL wordplay - unbelievably creative videos - completely unhinged/off the wall, lol. - the man seems incapable of creating a song that's not a huge vibe. He comes across as a goofball/Weird Al Yankovic taking himself too seriously but don't let that prevent you from checking out more than whatever you look at first - he's not a joke rapper. I kinda think of him like if Ween was a rap act. And be does have some really heavy hitting serious stuff, but with him, I'd recommend starting out with his fun stuff so that you get more of the full impact when you sit down with the heavy stuff. And the Mr Rogers connection is the video for Squad Goals, although I'd recommend starting with... idk, Soupy or Feed the Dogs or Subpar or Pack a Lunch. (sorry for the novel, I find it hard to explain Prof... he's like Ren, but focuses on absurdism, but I'm not sure that's a description that makes sense until you experience him?) Back to Ren, lol... Pig head on a pole... makes me think immediately of Lord of the Flies, where it didn't show that the boys had conquered evil; it meant that evil was consuming *them* (I guess because they'd brought it into their midst and were using it as a kind of symbol of power?) BUT I don't know that that's what Ren's intent is. It's just The Other Instance Of A Pig's Head On A Pole That I'm Aware Of, lol. And yeah, my thought is that the jerky walk represents the Frankenstein monster waking up and figuring out how to take his first few steps. Django Reinhardt - yep, Ren cites him as a guitar influence & guitar-knowledgeable/jazz-knowledgeable reactors pick it out in his acoustic guitar playing all the time before having heard The Hunger! I think it would have taken me until maybe Murderer (live) to pick it out, but I saw The Hunger within the first few weeks of finding Ren and the second he said the name it stuck in my head and now it travels with me everywhere I wander in Ren's catalogue, lol, so I "hear" the influence in so many of his acoustic guitar lines that aren't early English folk song/Elizabethan-centred. And while I have no Romani ancestry, I appreciate you choosing to go with the name Romani even tho Reinhardt himself used the other name plenty; times change, and all. And OMG you're gonna love the simplicity of the video for Power. It only enhances the incredible vibe of the song! Which is one of my all-time favourites; that song seriously helps me get through bad days. Hell, not only get through bad days... it can turn bad days around completely. ... I think this might be the first reaction to The Hunger that I've seen since Kujo Beat Down. This guy, man. He's so real. I haven't found one lyric yet, anywhere in his catalogue, that has proved to be him just puffing himself up/inflating his self-worth. Hallelujah - yeah, Cohen's the songwriter 👍 Cohen's original encompasses the meaning of the lyrics; Wainwright's cover (which I love because it's so beautiful) kinda manages to skip over the darkness, and leave you with the impression that it's a standard love song. Still weird that it was put into a movie for children & is now used at "normie" weddings and stuff, lol! Back to Frankenstein - this is a song he brought to life by stitching a million flows together.
My favourite version of Hallelujah is the Jeff Buckley one, his voice brings out the emotion in it. Also, Ren has cited Jeff Buckley as an inspiration to him.
Oh - Mr. Rogers! Are you familiar with Prof? He raps and sings and makes great videos! He has one called Squad Goals that hits on all the weird rumors people made up about Mr. Rogers. It's a lot of fun - I say as a Prof fan. Maybe you can add it to the wheel? Also, I love the Hunger video and song so thanks for the reaction to it!
@@LoutTsu lol, exactly! I wrote a novel of a comment with some other suggestions. Squad Goals is so much fun... once you've gotten to know Prof from other tracks!
