Hello Fred, actually the name of the library is Biblioteca Nacional (Brazil's National Library, founded in 1808). Many of those items exposed in the 1963 exhibition are now at Instituto Moreira Salles and can be found at the images section of the EN150 website. But many others are at BN's collection. We intend to make avilable Nazareth's manuscripts soon at the website. Cheers
another thought, Alexandre - that centenary exhibition is now 50 years old - older, presumably, than you! It's good to note that there is an E.N. National Library - I wonder if those tantalzing items on display in the film - photographs, sheet music, correspondence - are presently displayed at the Library - and is it open to the public?
[translation] Filming of the centenary exhibition of Ernesto Nazareth National Library (Rio de Janeiro) in 1963, coordinated by Mercedes Reis Pequeno, along with Ange of Nazareth (daughter of the composer). Both appear in the film.Reduced version.Collection of the Instituto Moreira . . . .thanks, Alexandre - a delightful rendition of "Eulina". . . how about "Cutuba" some day?
