Haha cheers dude they both definitely have there strenghts and weaknesses but if I had to choose I would definitely use the s20 ultra 90% of the time 👍🏻
We have just started our cellphone short films & webisodes using cellphones only and your channel has been a huge help. I am a Samsung fan but open to the sony too.
Thank you so much my husband and I have been disagreeing on if I should get the snapdragon version. I am getting it for filming and currently have a snapdragon S9plus and HATE that I don't have 60fps in 4k available in filmic pro. 😔 Samsung really needs to allow 3rd party app developers to have access to all the camera features. Us mobile film makers would love to show that amazing results you can get on a phone camera!
Totally agreed. stingy for how actually powerful this device is. Gets very limited for "pro" usage. I've been fighting this since I've switched to Samsung with the note 9. They have a new younger mobile CEO so who knows maybe we'll see a change.
Hi no problem if you are intending on using the phone for filmmaking then the device im using is definitely the one to go for 👍🏻 p.s the footage you can get out of this phone is a joke its that good, just wish Samsung would allow filmic more access but even so with what we have on there already its pretty dam awesome, and the 4k 60 looks beautiful 😍
@@wowashuwow si from mobile motion, (he is here on RU-vid) uses a S9+ exynos, filming with filmic pro, he is able to do a lot more then I can on my snapdragon version. He still really likes the quality of video he can produce with it. I belive he film silent eye a scifi series using his S9+. You can watch it on Amazon prime if your curious to see what it can look like quality wise. 😊
@@rickyeverett For those who do not have much colorizing experience mcpro24fps made amazing Technical LUTs (for free)! Now it is super easy to get colorised picture from Log in one step ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eBdx3deGjv4.html
Could you do a side by side comparison with stock camera app? I'm curious to see how saturation differs and how much better higher bit rate looks? I'm still afraid to purchase because on snapdragon
Cinematographer kit doesn't work with 4K resolution on my S20 ultra. "Not available with current configuration" But when I change to 1080p it works. What's going on? Got the Exynos 990 - Octa-Core..
Yeh im having the same issues, will only be able to use the logv2 setting up to 2k, and filming on wide lens, you can't adjust the focus, its constantly locked. Hope they sort this out.
It may be better with the stock app, but "consistent framerate" is not available on any mobile phone on the market to this day. They all shoot in VFR (variable framerate), which is ok sometimes but quite often it brings up a lot of issues when trying to edit the footage in post. In my oppinion this is a topic that gets overlooked way too often in reviews.
Cheers for the comment 👍🏼 I totally agree with you phone do have a vfr, but to be sure nest I haven’t had any issues with frame dropping or anything like that so can’t complain, it was definitely an issue I encountered a few years ago with phones but I definitely think with more computing power on phones these days they cope a lot better, great comment tho 👍🏼
Hi, I have the Samsung Note 20 ultra. I also recently purchased the filmic pro, what I realized is that the iso never goes below 50. Please why is that? Secondly, I always get dark footage under low light, even when I introduce external light from my led light. I reinstalled the app severally without any improvements. Help.
Hello guy, I have an S10+ and the 2 main issues with FilmicPro are that VLog (with cinematographer kit) is not available with 4K resolution and a bug with camera api that reset all settings (focal and shutter speed) after filming with a framerate superior to 24fps. Are these bugs corrected on S20 ?
Hi yes when I recored this video I had access to all the features at 4k but they have released an update that has removed those features atm I have spoken to them about it and another update is coming in the near future, but with this phone having the bigger sensor size you really don't need log at those higher resolutions, it does have it at 2k tho if you needed it 😁
I think Samsung is also going to launch its 150MP camera sensor soon with 1 inch sensor size (EVEN BIGGER THAN THE GN1). That will surely take video game to next level. Try shooting 4k 60 FPS in complete auto mode with fixed exposure and focus, In my Redmi Note 7 I also faced frame drop problem at 1080p 120FPS with filmic pro , but after using Auto mode and keeping the phone temperature low I was able to shoot complete 119.98FPS
Its a shame that Filmic doesn't record in 10 bits like the stock camera. And im probably going to switch to the Xperia 1 II because the three lenses are available to third party apps and the CinemaPro records in 10 bits and with flat HGL profile.
Awesome video bro, have you heard about the brand new Samsung GN1 sensor with 1/1.31' optical sensor size (even bigger than s20 ultra 108mp sensor). If filmic pro allows Dual pixel AF and realtime HDR in videos then it is going to be one of the best video making phone.
Hi Ricky, I am new to my Note 20 Ultra and filmic pro. So in the US I guess I have the snapdragon processor. Bummer, only goes up to 30fps and no slow motion. Also new to the DJI OM4 where the mimo app only allows 1080p no 4K. So not sure which way to go? Suggestions?
Hey Ricky, great video on this topic. I decided to purchase this app myself on my S20 Ultra as well as the cinematography kit inside the app in order to access the Log profile but it says that it's not compatible with my device. Do you have any idea on why it's happening and how to fix it? Thanks!
thanks great video. can filmic shoot using the Samsung hdr (not hdr10) same as the stock app? or are you just using log v2? also, have you found any android app that can grade the log footage on the phone?
Unfortunately not i wouldn't suggest using that feature anyway as the quality when using super steady mode is awful 😕 pro mode is still very limited atm so hopefully Samsung add some more features in the future 👍🏻
If you go into FilmicPro support page you can contact them with any issues. I am sure they would be delighted to hear from you .www.filmicpro.com/support/
Hey man, you said audio settings are all working, I can't get my external mic to work. I'm using a mic with a 3.5mm, into a ride sc4, into Google 3.5mm to USBC adapter, any ideas as looking to record outside with mic audio and in potentially loud environments, great vid too!
can u record in say 2k 120fps? Cause i film Dogs in training and need a bit more Pixels for post cropping and 120fps for full Detail for analysis. Thank u
bro, definitely check the app mcpro24fps,it's super amazing, for quality wise,it's surpass filmic pro or cinema 4k, it could produce 500mbps footage ,please take a look how it compatible with your exynos s20 ultra
Sad the base phone can't run 4k 60p. The camera on the S20 & S20+ is actually better than the Ultra. 8K is a gimick, the bitrate is lacking and it's only 24fps. The dynamic range on the S20 series is inferior to the iPhone. I own the S20, I had the iPhone 11. Can't stand iPhone omfg that's fragile phone, horrible interface, overheats, can't select multiple images in LR mobile, just hate iPhones for every reason I like Galaxy phones. But honestly I fucking hate Samsung for blocking 4K 60p in FilMic Pro. You can use 4K 60p in the pro app but you're stuck with Samsung horrible processing. They seriously need to rethink camera sensors and use larger photosites for more dynamic range and better low light. They also need to add in dual ISO and set it to 800 base and 3200 base on the Ultra (pro version, I'd pay a premium for that but not what they currently have)
Very positive vibes for the S20 Ultra, I myself did a test with the filmic pro and stock cam app, check it out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zeRhBY22cH4.html
