Sequence was absolutely gorgeous, legend for sharing your process and very keen to know how you managed to deal with reflections when shooting through the windscreen

after watching this amazing video I tried the tripod on the back seats and I love how it makes the video look, I just need to work on what angles to add to it now to make a small film. Great video can you possibly do one about how to film with a older smartphone gimbal like the dji osmo mobile 3. Thank you

Final scenes came out great! What would you have done if it wasn’t overcast?
@ryanluth
@ryanluth Год назад
Thank you! Would've been a lot more work if it hadn't been overcast, we got lucky on that because we had to shoot midday for most everything. If it was sunny I probably would've used an 8x8 or 10x10 of diff for as many of the stationary scenes as I could, and then interior car shots would've had to probably use some bounce and maybe tried to rig a light or a bounce or something to the car if possible. Exterior tracking would've had to be done natural with no modifiers. If I had the budget I would've had a whole bunch of 12x12's of diff or something on condors overtop of the street to create a sort of cloud cover, or one of those balloons that's basically a man made cloud. Maybe one day ;) for now we just use what we can and make the most of it!

Nice content and BTS clip. Extremely informative. How many hours did this entire thing take? Also, did you have a sound person? How did you mic up the interior of the car?
@ryanluth
@ryanluth Год назад
Thank you! This was many hours, the whole film was a total of 4 months of Pre-Production, 2 months of shooting, and about 6 months of Post Production. So many many hours, And yes we had a sound person, for the car interiors we used lav mics mounted either on the talent themselves or in the sun visors of the car

Hey there, im looking to make an amature feature film forever I lack a good camera, monitor, and mic. Any suggestions on how to buy/rent a good cinema camera for a reasonable price?
