Studio vs van is a big question for us at Poor Bear Stories in Orlando, FL. We have two main operation fronts, DC based and travel. For us, the van probably makes less sense (especially because maybe 40% of our jobs or less are in Florida) - although I've tried justifying it forever... Office is not yet on the table either. As much as technology has advanced, remote editing still has a lot of pain points, especially with storage. So, for us, office will probably come sooner as we get more projects.

Love this, looks like a very smart setup. And definitely feel a van is good, if you have a decent home office/studio for when you really need it.

I have gear for live stream switching, but this is the first time I've seen someone (you, the team) use it for what I choose to use it for, recording multiple angles. Awesome job. Thank you for sharing the journey.

@edleephoto Thanks! 2 weeks and I'm *almost* well 😅 But yeah, I love using the switcher to record multiple angles and cut out the editing. Glad I'm not the only one 🙌 Keep it up!

production van 100%, you get more value over a studio. I use my van all the time.

@@videopromike I would highly recommend getting a high roof if you can. So you can stand. Make life easier to get equipment in and out without bending your back and saving your back and/or knees.

i think i'd go for the studio just because i don't really have a lot of equipment. it would be really nice for me for meetings with clients, recording, shoots and i guess everything i could think of but i don't have either so just a theoretical response hahaha

@@_victorfoss_ We had a studio for a while and it ended up being much more of a liability. We rarely ever booked clients for shoots in the studio. We didn’t meet with anybody in the studio unless we booked a strategy session. People are very accustomed to having online meetings now. So we figured we would save ourselves the rent and perhaps put it into a production van in the near future.

Unless the majority of what you shoot is in studio, production van hands down. You can always rent a studio when needed. - Nice work on this one! Curious what lens you were running on the fx6?

100% agree with you. The Lens we were using was the Tamron 70-180mm lens
