Very nice songs with very nice poses. But footage could benefit from using 10-bit Log. It is much sharper on OM-1. What microphone do you use to record these calls? They sound very crisp! What distance aproximately is that?

Hi Mike the Nightingale footage was superb… as were the other species but that is a nightmare bird to get on film 🤦‍♂️ can I please ask a favour… would you kindly tell me the part numbers of your small rig set up for video. I want to but the same set up but there are so many options… two different ones to hold the end of the lens for example. The shop here in Belgium has all the separate bits but they can’t tell me which one I need for the 150-400 pro. Your help would be really appreciated. Thanks Paul

Excellent video Mike ( as always ) I personally would have been very happy with the Grasshopper Warbler shots. Which Rode Rifle Mike are you using ? Interestingly, you used the OM1mkII instead of your Panasonic G9mkII. Initially, I did not think the focus on the OM1mkIi was much better thanon the OM1, but when you shoot video, the improved autofocus for video is very evident. Still not 4K 120fps though !

A great watch on Saturday morning, thanks. How are you getting on with your thermal imager? I’ve had one for a couple of weeks now and it really is a game changer. A singing Whitethroat the other day was hard to locate in the scrub. I turned on the monocular and scanned the area - and saw a hint of red in the undergrowth. Kept an eye on him until he popped up and would’ve been a nice photo when he appeared. Also easy to pick out the resident kingfisher on the local lake. Hope yours is bringing some new fun to birding. Going out for owls tonight - fingers crossed. Will be much easier though in winter months when there’s less foliage about.
