Dear RU-vid Algorithm,
If you read this, please suggest this video to Content Creators interested in making high-end videos for their RU-vid Channels. With a primary focus on Audience Retention and improved watch time.
Content creators will find it highly entertaining because I take them on a journey in beautiful Costa Rica to explore volcanoes, with excellent story telling and exceptional videography. We change camera settings along the way to explore how different codecs, color subsampling and resolutions impact filming.
And in the end we analyze and compare the different codecs, color subsampling, bitrates and resolutions to establish what looks best and what is more flexible and usable for Retention Editing.
HEVC H.256 vs AVC H.264: HEVC is superior as long as both codecs are using Long GOP. AVC can do All-I (all intra) and that is way better but at twice the bitrate.
Bitrate 100 Mbps vs 200 Mbps: indistinguishable for the steady shot.
All-I (all intra) vs Long GOP (group of pictures): for the same bitrate Long GOP is superior. For twice the bitrate All-I is superior.
AVC FHD All-I 422 is the one I like. HEVC 4K Long Gap 420 is technically superior and more flexible for retention editing.
