Im hesitant to call Zach Quintos infamous moment a „melt down“ I feel like he calmly yet intensely explained what we all were feeling in that moment lmfao
There was also the fact that his name was going to be associated with it. I would be a lot less put together at the idea that my name was going to appear on something like "Not Cool", would've quit first glance at Shane's script.
I actually think it's an interesting idea to see how two different filmmakers from different backgrounds and different visions tell the same story, but Shane ruined it for everyone. He's so insufferable as both a creator and a person!
i think it's a cool idea if the executive producers don't mind a youtuber not sharing the experiment, bc if they did it would probably end up with them winning independently of the quality of their product just like shane. they would lose a lot of publicity but the experiment would be fairer
Poor Anna. Quinto's little melt down was worth it, what is the point of fame and status if you can't have a small hissyfit when some one makes something that truly awful
I thought nick diramio’s video on the chair was the only one I needed but I LOVE your perspective, esp on the writing aspect, and I loved hearing about your own filmmaking experience. plus your editing was really funny. subscribed!!!!!
It’s just astounding how willingly deluded Dawson comes across in that show. Like as a first time director, you’d think anyone’s instincts should be as gratuitous as possible to endear yourself to your cast & crew & to also be as humble as possible willing to take feedback & learn what you don’t know from the industry regulars & vets you’re surrounded by. Shane though doesn’t seem to even be aware of the concept of getting off on the right foot but also eagerly & ruthlessly throws his weight around, casting himself as the only expert in a sea of “incompetents”. Like it shouldn’t be a surprise that actors also need day jobs yet he not only needs a casting expert to explain that too him but instantly discards that simple bit of f advice as though he is insulted by it. Absolutely don’t blame Quinto or anyone apart of Shane’s side of the project for coming away unapologetically despising the dude not just for his tasteless amateur writing but also for being every each & every kind of tool in the hardware store possible at literally every moment he was conscious.
31:20 I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought that. He is always trying to act like he is poor but has two mansions filled with very exspensive ugly things.
I’m rewatching these scenes of him bulldogging his ideas and refusing to make change throughout the process, and it blows my mind. Like, he’s so out of his element it’s alarming he can’t see it
I instinctively want to hit "dislike" on this video every time clips from Not Cool show up in it, because they are fucking painful to watch. I have to rationally remind myself that you're not making this awfulness, you're simply revealing it to your unsuspecting audience.
Never heard of this bloke, from what you have said and shown he was obviously only interested in creating drama for this reality show and not in the finished product. Naturally he will probably make more films, this is the f*cked up world we live in.🤦♂️
Good reaction. As professional reactors ourselves, we definitely think you got what it takes! Real talk tho, I can't believe we accidentally stole "filmmakers react" from you and even ended up making the same point about actors
@@TaraNatalia Oh for sure! The professional reacting business is not for the faint of heart. People think it's all sitting around on the couch, drinkin' some white claws, and shouting "Hey I could do way better than that!" at the TV. However the reality is... uh... well... setting up all the cameras is like... a lot of work...
Not Cool is the worst movie of all time. Me and my cousin do a bad movie marathon every year and we’ve both agreed it’s the worst, and keep in mind we’ve watched shit like Blood and Honey and Birdemic
Shane Dawson on the show was an entitled egotistical whiny little man child who talked out of both sides of his mouth. The show "overall" was a phenomenal concept, however, in my opinion it was ruined by BOTH selections for DIrectors. Aside from Shanes annoying tendencies, he was made worse by those around him who continued to pander to his fragile ego. From the Producer who initially brought him own, Chris Moore, to his personal Producer/Friend Laura whatever who allowed him to use her as his personal puncing bag. He ONLY wanted to hear how great he was, never actually LISTENING when anyone gave any remnant of constructive criticism. On the other end of the spectrum was the Director Anna, who by comparison to Shane seemed like someone who actually had it together. However, if you only watched Her perspective of the show you would see that she was an indecisive, overtly dramatic, fragile shell of a Director who couldnt seem to make any type of important decision without her Husbands approval. Constantly displaying the fragile ego you would expect from an actor, Anna was a terrible Director only selected because she was friends and collaborators with one of the producers of the show. Had it not been for these two Directors I think the show would have been SO much better...ijs
It was her brother in law, and she did make decisions without he approval. She hadn’t directed before and was a woman on a film set having to toe a line between being the boss and still being likable enough for people to listen, which is a line male directors don’t have to deal with as much. I also can’t imagine how stressful it would be to direct for the first time, have it be a feature film, and BE filmed during the process (sometimes without even knowing) If your point is that they should have brought on experienced filmmakers then I guess I agree to an extent, but think that it would have lost some of the tension. Ultimately while Anna wasn’t perfect she was still very respectful to people, had a vision for the film, and was able to deliver a satisfying if somewhat unmemorable film. That being said I do agree that they should have brought in someone that was more of an outsider and didn’t have such close relations with the show creators. If you have read this, thank you for your time. I’m sure you are a lovely person. I hope you have a nice day.
Shane wants the all the glory that comes with the title "filmmaker" or "director," but wants to do none of the hard work. He is a mid RU-vid video maker, and that's all he'll ever be.
By the time the video got to the 25 minute I was shocked there was possibly more embarrassing content to show about Shane. Kudos to you Natalia. I loved this.
Wish I could say he improved as a person after all that. But he never changed, he just got better at faking his personality, trying to be this generous kind hearted empath, but the cracks always showed.
