Joe Ranft toasting to “let’s meet in the next ten years” hurts so much

Exactly pal, he was a co director and head of story on Cars 1 which was his final film credit 😔😔😔

The guy's resume is something else. Disney Renaissance, Brave Little Toaster, Tim Burton then finally Pixar.

No it isn't, he was involved in the first two Toy Story movies and even voiced a couple of characters in them : Lenny the binoculars, and the talking squeeze toy penguin Wheezy.

@@zaryalace7475 while BLT became a non-disney classic gem, Toy Story and TNBC were honorably part of the Disney Renaissance glory beyond the innovation

The chemistry of Pixar will probably never be seen again in Hollywood. Top to bottom the studio was filled with imaginative people trying to make the best possible movies. Everyone had a voice, which allowed the best ideas to come from unexpected sources. Storytelling was the magic at Pixar and they worked tirelessly until it was just right. The groundbreaking visuals were just the icing on top because they knew none of that would matter if the characters and story didn’t work.

Look at that. The original Brain Trust Team of Pixar, all in the same hallway, and the last recording of them together since Joe Ranft passed away a few months after this. Rest In Peace to the Heart & Soul of Pixar.🙏

Watching how these guys just speak to each other shows why Pixar had such a great run as they did. I get the same vibe as the South Park guys with this. In tune with each other, getting to the point of what is a good story/makes them laugh or cry. People who can argue, be critical, but still come back together or hang out like this are just going to make a better movie or TV show period. The chemistry/friendship shines in the finished product. It's a shame they are split now, for many different reasons. I feel like John worked and acted better when he was checked by his buds, especially Joe Ranft (RIP), and Andrew and Pete worked better as a team, and not doing other jobs that weren't story. I wish Andrew Stanton would come back to animation, it's his real talent. Finding Nemo and WALL-E are two of the best films ever made. These guys are legends, I hope they know that. These guys and The Simpsons crew changed U.S. animation forever.

Like John Ratzenberger Joe Ranft had a role in every single PIXAR Film before he died. 1. Lenny The Binoculars in Toy Story (1995). 2. Heimlich the caterpillar in A Bug's Life (1998). Joe's son Jordy Ranft is the voice of one of the Ant Boys who picks on Dot. 3. Wheezy the Penguin and Heimlich the caterpillar in Toy Story 2 (1999). Lenny The Binoculars appears in the film but doesn't talk. 4. Pete Claws Ward Scarer in Monsters Inc (2001). Joe's daughter Sophia Ranft is the voice of Baby Smitty the monster who bites Mike's hand and appears as Boo in the company play Put That Thing Back Where It Came From. One of the scarers on the floor is named after Joe Ranft called JJ Ranft. 5. Jacques The Shrimp in Finding Nemo (2003). Joe's son Jordy Ranft is the voice of Tad the obnoxous Butterfly Fish who Nemo becomes friends with. 6. One of Syndrom's Guards in The Incredibles (2004). 7. Red The Firetruck and Jerry The Peterbelt in Cars (2006). Joe's final performances before he died unexpectidly in a car crash in 2005.

Andrew Stanton was really the VOICE of Pixar as much as John Lasseter in many ways. Not only writing directing Finding Nemo but having involvement in all of the Toy Story films.
