Congrats on the assessor as they’re a great looking fish especially for smaller tanks. I had a Randall’s assessor for awhile but he decided to take a swan dive out of my tank when I had the top off for awhile. 🥴 I’d like to be able to purchase some of them again later when they’re a available. congrats Remy on hitting your mark of 10k subscribers before the end of the year. Great job..
Thanks a lot for sharing your tank, Remy. The mushroom "infestation" looks so cool. This deep orange color really make your tank pop. And congrats on getting "Goldie". Keep us entertained in 2021 as well. Maybe even more often than 1x a week 😉.
So close to 10K congrats and hopefully it happens. Pokémon is nuts right now. Went down that hole a few times lately. Cute little fish looks like it fits in nice in your tank.
Merry Xmas Remy! Thanks again for all of your inspiring content in 2020. Can’t wait to see what you have in store for us all in 2021. Happy new year when it comes buddy!
@@BahamaLlamaCoral Remy, your thumbnails are part and parcel of your success. You are here and doing so well based on how accessible your content is, how easy your videos are to follow and how genuinely nice a guy you seem. Keep up the excellent work and effort my man. Love to the family.
I had no idea Pokemon cards had taken off until going down that rabbit hole you mentioned earlier. I use to babysit 3 boys and their parents pretty much made me go to all of the Pokemon meetings with them, etc. So, I also recently found my binder and now its just about seeing which one of these cards is gonna get me a new tank. 20 years of my family giving me crap for holding onto them, and I finally get the last laugh!
@@BahamaLlamaCoral I have 3 yellow and 3 macneill assessors. Very different behaviors from the two species. I dream of the day I get a deep water candy basslet.
Loving that Assesor ! Such a gorgeous fish, always enjoy the look of em! Those toadstools though!! Loving them so much... still waiting for a Remy weeping... LOL Merry Christmas to you and your family Remy!
I'm so jealous, my mom misplaced my binder that had all my cards. 😭 I know I had some OG cards in there. Hope you have some treasures in there. 🥰 Happy holidays to you and your family.
You need to look into the 3DReefing diffusers for your tank. The disco ball effect when the flow is on is nuts. Fixed the issue for me with my Hydras and the spectrum blending is WAY better too. A little PAR loss, but you aren’t keeping wall to wall sps, so who cares. 😊
Yeah it is. For some reason it was even more pronounced in this video. I usually don't shoot until middle of the day but I shot this as the lights were coming up.
love the videos bro im excited to c if you can get to 10k and love the that you found the cards. along with reefing i am a toy collector did you find any gi joe when at your parents?
Nah, I wasn't really into GI Joes. I had several but nothing that made it this far. It's fun to look back and feel the excitement of a fresh Pokemon card pack though!
I've got that stuff and dose it every now and then. I've also tried target feeding meaty foods. Someone pointed out that it might be the higher temp in the tank...it's an experiment I'm willing to try!
Tanks looking great! What are your thoughts on ordering some gulf live rock for my day old tank to help jumpstart the cycle? Would it be ok to cure the rock in the tank?
If it's live it's already cured. Live rock will definitely jump start it but it might also come with pests so just be ready for that. I've always done dry marco rock and seeded with Turbo Start from fritz. That's one way to make sure you'll won't have unwanted guests to start. Either way is totally fine though!
@Bahama Llama Coral thanks! I actually have some Marco rock in there, but after seeing some of the rock from the ocean I decided I wanted to start my tank with more diversity, even if that meant a few bad hitchhikers tagging along. The only reason I thought I would need to cure it was because there would be some die off? It won’t be shipped overnight, so I doubt everything will arrive alive.
I'm thinking about going to coral crib tomorrow. Not sure what i want to get right now. The last trip i got a 2 bar rabbit fish from them. Thinking some coral this time. They have a big sale going on this weekend. Also thinking about getting a doser this week. Would be awesome to see how you frag your weeping willow.
Love that store. It has so much potential! Plus the owners are really nice. The Kamoer is nice for single head...but I have the Coral Box 4 head doser from Reef Breeders for the frag...love it. I actually did a video earlier this year with a big frag sesh. Scroll back a bit.
@@BahamaLlamaCoral I'll have to find it. I've watched your fragging videos. I don't remember one with you fragging your weeping willow. I think i can get by with a single head doser right now, but for the price it's almost better to get a 3 or 4 head one.
@@BahamaLlamaCoral I was literally about to ask if you had any suggestions for a doser. Glad i always read the comments first. Good job on that control board, looks mint
Smart on waiting until Jan. to ship anything. I ordered some Chaeto in early Dec. from someone 3hrs. north of me. Was shipped and ETA is Jan. 27th. I should have known. UGH!
How do you clean front glass of the aquarium? When salt water gets on it it leaves some marks. Can you do a aquarium maintenance including cleaning the glass. Thanks.
I like the way you think! I've had a vision of doing a lagoon and featuring the weeping willow on a lone rock and a wide array of fish. Minimal scape. We'll see how it all pans out.
Beautiful Fish! Congratulations that you got it! My Son got the Pokémon-Collection of one of my friends last week and is in Poke-heaven since then...Go and check your Pokémon-Cards value, maybe there‘s some new Corals in it. 😉
@@BahamaLlamaCoral cool, remembering the good old collector-kid-times... 👍🙂 it‘s amazing watching my son increasing his Pokémon-knowledge as if it were nothing. Hopefully he‘ll remember this positive too in future times.
I don't even know what they would appraise out to anymore! lol. Now would be the time though. Maybe I'm wrong but I feel like they are at an all-time high right now.
@@BahamaLlamaCoral The easiest ways to check would be to look at recently sold listings on eBay, or look up values on TCGPlayer.com. You're right though, Pokemon singles have never been hotter. The chances of another global pandemic causing people to get bored and start collecting again are (hopefully) slim, so if you're not very attached to them then I'd definitely sell. Keep anything I'm truly attached with, but it's hard not to look at those profits. You can always buy stuff back later when the hype dies down...that's what I did with my comics.
@@BahamaLlamaCoral I know the feeling I only have a few in my collection from trading all my doubles when I was younger. Kinda wish I didn't trade them
Remy I need HELP!!! I'm abput 6 months in to my first mixed reef setup snd I have a kessil 360we and I have bad beard algea taking over!! What can I do!?? Plz Help bud! So far I have turned lighting wayy down. Merry Late Xmas!!
Algae is tough. I am not familiar with beard algae and how to treat but the main thing is getting your nutrients down. You might look into a Reef Flux treatment. You could also try Razor from Brightwell.
If your talking about hair algae, get an emerald crab. It will eat it up, also do the other recommendations from other comments. My emerald crabs don’t mess with my coral, but trigger fish would eat them so make sure it won’t be killed by whatever fish you have.
Awesome! Thanks Remy! Also I already do have 2 emerald crabs Rabbit and also a few Tiger Trochus snails. But whats funny is the snails I have to keep pulling from the tank and picking hair algea from them too because they get covered in it!! I honestly think its a mixture of hair algea and beard algea going on and i have my kessil 360we turned wayyy down right now and I have pretty much all soft corals I just picked up two different types of gorgonias and of course my quarntine tank is shut down at the moment so I cant run total black out with some of my corals. I am in the process of swapping my tank over to a new 30gallon long with sump & refugium ans also read doing a 3% peroxide dip? I just did 2 min max dip followed by saltwater rinse on my zoas, torch and waving hands I just picked up from someone off fb yesterday matter of fact and they are doing amazing so far fingers crossed!! Thanks for taking the time to read my comment and your response Remy!!!! *Keep on Lama-Ing!!!!!!
I remember when I first started reefing and bought a piece of live rock just because it had a little mushroom on it......... I remember when I first started reefing and threw away a piece of live rock because it had 100 mushrooms on it........
How much all-for-reef are you dosing and what is your alkalinity? I’m doing the same with a 30 gallon. 8ml gives me alkalinity of 7.5. Looking to increase that. Thanks.
@@BahamaLlamaCoral gotcha I have a 13.5 gallon and I have to dose 3ml of all for reef per day to maintain 8.6 dkh. My calcium is higher than yours tho about 450-470
Nah...you can never have too much blue! Lol. I shot this when lights were ramping up. Also had a crazy disco ball effect too...I couldn't win with the image. This system runs AB+ so it gets plenty of white light during the cycle.
@@BahamaLlamaCoral Haha well i should have specified, i mean preferencially too much blue. But you can not discuss taste of course. I prefer mostly white, some blue is ok but you know ;P
