Thanks Patrick - good question. There's a couple of thoughts: 1 - I know of the person (William Busch) who made these sounds. He's a very talented programmer, and does excellent work. Korg took his sound pack (Popular Synths Vol 1 and 2 I believe it's called) and licensed it's use in the Kronos. He did a great job, his sounds are all very well done, and all very usable. 2 - My sounds aim for absolute accuracy. Many of the songs I managed to get the isolated keyboard parts so you can hear what the keyboards are doing very clearly and I'm using that as my base of accuracy. I don't want sounds that sound similar, but to actually be able to be confused for the actual sound. 3 - On top of being accurate, I aiming the sounds for giging musicians who would be playing the entire song live instead of providing a single sound or partial combi. The aim is slightly different from my perspective. 4 - I have a professional studio, and I am also a professional gigging musician myself and many of the sounds that I'm making are ones that I actually use live so I get the opportunity to hear the translation between hearing something in the studio and how it works when you play it in the context of a band. I want to make sure they're not only accurate but very playable. 5 - I am frustrated by the current laws regarding copyright and intellectual property. There is SO much more I wanted to do but have to intentionally and actively choose songs that won't infringe on copyright. It's not that I want to cause loss to the original musicians at all, so much as I want people who are doing covers to have the most realistic representation of the song if that's their aim. There's a LOT more I have to say on the subject, but at the end of the day the nuances between my sounds and existing sounds are very small. The free ones out there or the ones on the Kronos 2 already are great, sound great, have lots of usability outside their intended function and so on. For 90% of people who can't tell the difference between something I produce and what's out there already, there's no point in getting my sounds because other ones will be certainly good enough. My product is more for the 'elitest' sort who really demands the absolute in accuracy. Admittedly I'm certainly nowhere near perfect, and many of the accuracy issues I come across are entirely because I can't hear what the keyboards are doing hence the focus on getting isolated keyboard tracks, stems, MOGG files and the like. I've talked enough - hopefully you get what I'm talking about though :)

What I'll try and do is make some free, make some paid but eventually I'd like to take as many requests as possible and as long as there aren't copyright issues, put them on the site!

Thanks Ron for your great question. For legal reasons, I wasn't able to include the drums or drum loops for any of the songs with a couple exceptions. I really REALLY wanted to include all kinds of extra samples, loops and drum stuff. That said, depending on what you're looking for, I might be able to help you out aside from the sound pack. I guess you technically could use the same drum track used for Jump and Africa in my patches as well, though my sound packs were designed with a keyboardist-in-a-band performance in mind. (Meaning, drums would be covered by a drummer) Maybe shoot me a message if there's something in particular you're looking for that I might be able to help with at audoraaudio@gmail.com and I'll see what I can do!

Sorry - I don't have a Krome so not producing the sounds for it yet. Perhaps in the future if I get a hold of one and figure out what it's capable of doing from a programming perspective. And while there may be other companies out there doing these emulations, this is only the beginning from me. There's a lot more to come, and I'm approaching things quite a bit differently :)

sizzlemann Great news, thanks Sizzlemann! I'm putting everything in the UU-EE and UU-FF banks for programs, U-E for Combi's, some samples, and Setlist 000 by default but that can be loaded separately too so it doesn't mess up other setlist data.

Great question - Hungry Like the Wolf is a preset Karma pattern, though I did make a couple of my own so yes, there are a couple that will show up in a KGE that needs to be loaded.

Thanks. Can you please share what synth engine you used for the "beep" sound.

Sure - I used the AL-1 engine, the Amp-EG has a very short decay, and I used two pulse waves with a width of 50 (Basically making it a square wave) with a little ring mod and some other stuff thrown in. If you're trying to do it yourself though, even if you don't get the sound quite right, you can use the Karma preset (0025 Basic Arp RANDOM) and assign it where it makes the most sense for you, and that works well.

Sorry, no. The Montage doesn't have even half of the sound engines used in the Kronos that are necessary for a lot of the Poly-6, MS-20 and other generators used to recreate the songs. That said, if the Montage supports SF2 (soundfont) files, I'm working on releasing the sounds in that format.

I don't really think you could tell the quality of the sound just based off of a youtube video. And I've looked at the BurningBusch sounds - His are great, no question. It's a matter of accuracy - Mine are closer to the real album. On top of that, I'm a full-time working musician, many of these sounds I've used/been using live. Additionally, I'm also offering the sounds for the entire song, not just a single sound. That's the point of this sound pack.
