Final Battle | Calamity Ganon - The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

The beauty of this game is that Ganon is as hard as you want him to be. You can grind for every heart container and stamina wheel, the most powerful armor and weapons, free all the divine beasts, and squash him like a bug. Or you can go for him immediately after you pass the great plateau with absolutely nothing. That’s why this game is awesome.

Can I just say that Calamity Ganon's intro cutscene is one of the most intimidating final boss intros I've ever seen?

Link may be all alone in the world in this game, but seeing the friends he did make in the past help him take down Ganon is quite possibly one of the most epic moments in Zelda history. If only the Champions didn't have to immediately pass on after Ganon's defeat, It would have been awesome to see what they might have had to say before going to the other side...especially Daruk and Revali.

3:05 I love how Link draws his sword and looks at Calamity Ganon like, "I am going to kick your ass, bitch".

Link being completely unfazed by Ganon's roar and just calmly pulling out the Master Sword with it lighting up and the sound effect is easily one of the top moments in a Zelda game.

You know that shit is going down when the main theme is part of the final boss theme.

I can't be the only one who liked the idea of Ganon willing himself to life and creating himself a body out of being left out of the reincarnation cycle much more interesting than him being"just Ganondorf" all along

Holy fuck, that was Ganon?!That was one of the darkest creepiest, downright atrocities of Ganon recreated I've ever seen. Wow.

I was really disappointed to find out that there was no post-Ganon game. But this has been one of my favorite games that I have ever and played.

"now my moment has finally come. brace yourself ganon for the sting of my revenge!" "this will be our final opportunity. we will not fail!" "lets go little guy! now, open up wide ganon!" "a hundred years in the making. hold on princess, our moment has arrived!" i screamed "lets go guys, lets put ganon back were he came from!"

This fight wasn't easy since I found Calamity Ganon's appearance to be very disturbing.

1:40 Swear the champions scene where they’re firing the full might of the divine beasts makes me emotional every time. It’s just so EPIC!!!!

Easy fight, but very fun and immersive.

Not that the moment isn't already perfect... But man, imagine if the blast from the beasts fucking totaled Hyrule Castle. That's what it looks like it should do, just rip it to shreds.

It's pretty hard in master mode HE JUST KEEPS REGENERATING WHEN HE CLIMBS ONTO THE WALLS

1:40 - *_LIGHT THE BASTARD UP!!_* Honestly, the only way I could see that scene being any better is if they'd done things the other way around: You fight him down to the halfway point, and then as he's reeling from the beating you've given him, DEATH FROM ABOVE.

I LOVE how they did their power gestures when each divine beast cast its beam. It’s the little details for me.

When the champions and the divine beasts fired on Ganon did anyone else yell "FUCK HIM UP!!!!" at the screen?

1:08 Ganon is not looking for Link in the surroundings, he is looking for his sealed gerudo body believing that he would find it in the sheikah observatory but in reality it is much deeper

Are they telepathically connected, because their timing with their different distances from the Castle is very accurate. They must of practiced...

The opening attack would have been so more bad ass if you didn't see his HP bar. 'oh shit did they one shot him?' 'FUCK NO THEY DIDN'T!'

What a game! this final area and bosses gave me many feelings. Going through Hyrule Castle was incredible and felt like a real castle consumed by the Calamity. The music was dramatic and is one of the best Zelda pieces I've ever heard in my life. Zelda's Diary was sad and one of the best moments in the game for me and I recommend it for anyone who hasn't done so yet. Calamity Ganon is one of the best bosses I've ever faced in a Zelda game. He has so many attacks and you can make him as hard or easy as you want and I love it. I died once but I didn't even care because of how much I love this boss. the intro was epic and the design is very interesting as well. All in all, this was one of my favorite bosses in the franchise and that says a lot considering there are some real gems in Zelda. Dark Beast Ganon is where I start having problems. The fight was way too easy and short. when I beat him I'm like "wait, that's it?!" and just left me feeling unsatisfied at how much potential it had to make full use of all the game's mechanics but it didn't. Also sad to go from the awesome Calamity Ganon fight to this things that can hardly be called a final boss. Hell, Mario Galaxy 2's final boss was harder, at least he actually aimed to damage you and not everything else. the Final blow was great but we just needed more out of it than what we got. The ending didn't help either since almost nothing big happened. like what happens to the kingdom, the Sheikah, the Yiga, or Link and Zelda for that matter. Link have any goals now that Ganon is dead? is Zelda gonna ascend the throne and become queen? what about the NPCs in the world that were hurt by the Calamity? are they gonna rebuild the kingdom, relocate it, or just leave it as is? NOTHING IS ANSWERED AT ALL AND IT BOTHERS THE HELL OUT OF ME!! I just hope the DLC fixes this a bit.

I was personally hoping for him to turn into Ganondorf at the end. Still loved it though!

The part with the divine beasts at the start made me jizz off the bat

I just wish the divine beast attacks were more unique. Why couldn't Vah Ruta shoot water from it's trunk or Vah Naboris could use lightning? All of the work just for them to shoot laser beams.

It's hard to think this thing is Ganondorf, who used to be a regular thief.

I don’t care if the fight itself is cake. This is one of the best final bosses I’ve ever seen. The music, the stakes, Zelda’s desperation, the champions pitching in with the divine beasts, Ganon’s chaotic nature. All of it is done perfectly

i remember my fight with calamity ganon; i scored every flurry rush perfectly and every guardian laser parry prefectly, it was literally the best i had ever fought in the game i was pretty bad at the combat when i first started but i pushed on, learning the different combat mechanics, eventually being able to take on and farm the higher level lynels and beating all three levels of the master sword trials. and then it got to this, where i was doing everything perfectly; it was such a good feeling. i actually felt like i had improved so much and had something to be proud of from my experience playing the game

Loved that the divine beast cutscene wasn’t a requirement and that they actually did help make it easier. Not that it should’ve been easy, but I liked that it wasn’t a classic fake-out where the cutscene doesn’t really do anything, he really does lose half his entire health as the reward for you deciding to help others.

Probably the most excited and pumped I've ever been for the final boss. Unlike the other games, you were told from the *beginning* to fear this, and prepare for some crazy bullshit. And when you get there, you receive *exactly* what you expected, maybe more. *Bravo Nintendo. Bravo.*

Mighty kind of Ganon to just stand in one place impotently raging while Link rides around and occasionally shoots at him.

"given up on reincarnation" this means that Breath of the wild is the last game in the timeline or at least as far as Ganon is concerned.

ignore my earlier comment the trick is to deflect right when the the eye/ or in this case the cannons point glows Blue.

Interesting fact if you take ancient shield into the fight you can deflect his own beam back at him.

Okay I have been looking for hours now, and I still don't know; What the hell is the really intense song that plays when you fall down into the arena with Calamity Gannon? I can't figure it out

People are saying this battle was easy, but have you seen OOT Ganon, or Wind Waker Ganondorf? Nothing harder about those battles than this one. I'd argue this is harder.

BOTW was my first Zelda game ever, but I had heard about Ganon before from RU-vidrs. So when I fought him for the first time in the castle, I was confused and said "I thought he was supposed to look like a pig?" Was not disappointed about 7 minutes later.

the attack of the beasts is so epic, the first time i ever watched it it legit gave me chills, every moment of pain and suffering trying to solve those puzzles and kill the blights paid off when ganon got blasted to half health by all 4

I was hoping the Dark Beast Ganon fight would have been something more like the original idea for Ganon in Ocarina of Time where Ganon was going to be colossal and Link would have to climb his gargantuan body and take him out Shadow of the Colossus style.

So sad all the good people stayed dead.. why couldn’t it be like the end of A Link to the Past?! 😢

I remember the first time I fought this living nightmare fuel. I had no master sword and 8 to 12 hearts. The only help I got was from the divine beasts and I still died multiple times, but that made defeating him all the more satisfying.

I really wish that this boss fight held up to the build up to it. I was genuinely scared by that intro scene, but he was a complete joke of a boss... the whole Dark Beast thing gave me hope, but it was even easier.

just finished the main quest few minutes ago for the first time. Yeah possible 5 years later ^^ I loved it. But I ve waited like 2 years before going to Ganon (I finished last divine créature 2 years ago). I didnt touch the game 1 year and played time to time during remaining year. I was overstuffed , many hearts and potions. I wanted.to be ready for last moment of the game. But it was very very very easy..

This is an awesome scene but I have a question, how are the beams not absolutely destroying hyrule castle.

3:08 The Master Sword's brightness fills the screen, consuming everything in white. Glimpses of memories of Zelda emerge, one after another, as her lullaby is sang by the chanters. The final memory shown is Zelda's sealing of Ganon, the screen returning to pure white. It then fades to black. Text appears at the bottom, "For Zelda.", it reads, spoken by a young man's voice. The screen opens up like awakening eyes, revealing a zoom up on Link's eyes, face lowered, eyes upfront. The screen pans back to Ganon. "For she is my quest!" and the fight begins.

Holy Shit. That first phase wasn;t a fight, it was a god damn BEATDOWN. Ganon didn;t get any hits in until he started firing Guardian lasers at you!
