Excellent information! I'm glad I'm not the only one who prints and photo/emails extras. Something that is really necessary is a separate medication list. I know you fill out the medical sheet prior to boarding, but this is a backup slip of paper you can carry with your cash/cards. If you take meds daily - insulin, anxiety, thyroid...whatever - you need to have a list of the medication, dosage, frequency and prescriber. It's a just in case, but if you have it and something happens - you're a lot more covered. (Also include allergies to medications - if you don't have any you can mark NKA - no known allergies). If you're away from the ship and something happens - it's a good idea to have if you need medical care.
I would like to add on your boarding documents is to put at least 1 luggage tag INSIDE of your luggage. That way if for some reason the one on the outside gets lost there is one in your luggage so if they open it up they will know where to take your luggage.
Luggage tags can intentionally accidentally removed. Included a two printed copies of your name, home address, cell phone number, airlines itinerary, ship itinerary, emergency contact & emergency phone. Place these printed information inside the packed items. . Luggage tags can intentionally accidentally removed.
We cover our luggage tags with packing tape to make it stronger. I also use blue painters tape to put our room number on the outside of our luggage and I write our room number and name, sailing date, ship etc on a piece of paper inside our luggage! I know it's overkill but I always hear the lost luggage announcements! lol! Also, one time we had a new girl checking us in and she was confused why my last name wasn't the same as my birth certificate! Luckily I packed my marriage license, haha! You just never know, so we always bring it.
I have some cruises coming up in January, February, and May with Carnival. I didn't know about all the health documents you needed to bring so thanks for the information.
Small first aid kit (has paid off at least three times with kids on the cruise), small sewing kit (button or quick stitch), baseball cap (bad hair day or work out), Wet Ones for quick clean up while flying or at port, charging brick in cables for small electronics like phone or action cams, hydra-flask, and back pack for carry-on with one change of clothes and light travel jacket.
Our passports expired, too, so we completed the renewal process (we mailed everything in first week of July); we received our passports 12 weeks later. Just FYI. Great idea to photograph documents with your phone. We take pictures of the front and back of our credit cards-just in case. Excited for you guys!
Thanks for the video! The Horizon is a beautiful ship! We are sailing on the Maridu Gras next week! It’s been a long time coming and we are so excited!!! Enjoy your cruise!
Fantastic tips, thank you. We will be cruising with you guys tomorrow on Horizon😊 Me and my daughter watch you guys all the time and so excited to learn that you and Kellie will be on the same cruise. Hope to see you both on Horizon. Have a wonderful time.🚢
Great tips! 🤩🤩🤩 I’m always so nervous that we’ll forget something to do with our documents or passports. I check my digital lists multiple times to make sure I have everything. And then once again before we walk out of the house. 😆
We always travel with the passports, as you can't fly out with a birth certificate outside the US. We have passport cards as well, but once again this too will not get you out of all foreign countries. We also print duplicates of all our cruise documents. sounds crazy, but we had to actually prove we had requested anytime dining on Carnival one time, as this was incorrect on our sign and sail cards, and the only proof I had for them to change it was on our cruise paperwork.
Hi Wende! You are totally right about the passports. And thank you for sharing about the how the cruise paperwork helped with getting your dining time corrected!
We are taking the same cruise (Horizon) in October 2022. Jason, we leave on our B2B on 10/17/21 and I'm happy to say that I have all the documents you list with an appointment for the test on Friday.🐸 Hope you two have a wonderful cruise.😀
Hey! Great info, just subscribed! Are you guys carnival loyal or do you sail other lines as well? I'm getting ready to watch your Mardi Gras series as I sail her soon!
Hi Gina! Thank you so much! We sail on all cruise lines. We just have the most experience with Carnival. Next year we plan to hope to sail on the inaugural cruises for the Norwegian Prima and Royal Caribbean's Wonder of the Seas. You will love the Mardi Gras! Super ship! Thanks for subscribing!
I like that you're (meant in a positive way) neurotic about making sure all your bases are covered (having home kits as well, just in case). How far in advance did you make reservations at CVS for the covid test?
Hi Friend! Thanks. I think my time in the military did it to me. 😂 We made our CVS reservations about a week out. In the area where we live (north Atlanta metro) that seems to be sort of the safe window to ensure plenty of reservations are still available. Thanks for watching and chiming in!
At CVS there are a couple of different options available for the tests.. which one did you take where you received your results in 25 mins? Also have a fabulous time on the Horizon we sailed on her in 2019 absolutely beautiful ship loved every single minute of the trip.
Thank goodness I live 45 minutes away from Galveston lol. Been on many cruises and am ready to go again soon……… We’ve had a Panama Canal cruise booked for a while…… sooo 🤷🏼♀️ idk if it’ll be that one or I’d kinda like to go back to Key West first until we can get the time to do a longer trip.
We keep all of our cruise documents, passports, vaccine cards in an envelope in a safe. We leave them in there from cruise to cruise. That way everything we need is already there!
Hi Brenda! There is no out of pocket costs for those with insurance. You just give them your insurance card at the time of testing. For those without insurance, you simply give them your social security number and the test is paid for through a federal program. If a person opts to do neither of the above, they can pay cast at the time of the visit and I believe the cost is $139. Hope that helps!
What about if you come from another country, but have become a Naturalized Citizen of the USA, but have not yet got your passport ? I believe that you can take your Naturalisation Certificate.
You can type in your vifp number on the Carnival website and see what comes up. Also, talk to your travel advisor and see if they have anything they can offer :)
This is a good information. I will be cruising on April but additional question I might be to ask, are they gonna test you again at the port terminal before you cruise even you are taking a covid test 2 days prior that sailing day? I'm cruising with Carnival. Thank you.
Hi Friend. For domestic cruises that begin and end at a U.S. port, Carnival Cruise Line (as an example) states the following: Traveling with a Birth Certificate AND Photo Identification Birth Certificate Information. The following are acceptable: 1. An original or copy of a birth certificate issued by a government agency (state/county/city) or the Department of Health and Vital Statistics 2. A clear, legible copy (photocopy) of a birth certificate that was originally issued by a government agency (state/county/city) or the Department of Health and Vital Statistics. The copy does not need to be notarized or certified. 3. Birth Certificate Card 4. A Consular report of Birth Abroad 5. Internationally adopted children (under the age of 18): If the adoptive parent was not issued a birth certificate, we will accept as proof of citizenship, a Certificate of Citizenship by the U.S. and adoption paperwork. A Certificate of Citizenship is issued by the U.S. once the adoption is finalized. 6. Guests may obtain a copy of a birth certificate by contacting: The Department of Health and Vital Statistics at: www.vitalchek.com. If the guest has laminated their birth certificate, it is acceptable. The direct link to Carnival's site where the above is found is here: www.carnival.com/help?topicid=3409 Hope that helps! Happy cruising!
Sailing Carnival Panorama in December of 2022 . Is it ok if the middle name is not on the vaccine card or if the name is shortened (example John instead of Johnathan) ?
