Thank you so much for watching the video! If you have a spare 5 minutes to fill-out the Final Fantasy Survey we mentioned it'd be much appreciated: tinyurl.com/fullffsurvey
Which version of FFIV remake are you talking about? The 3D one or the 2D remake that happened on PSP that included After Years. It was called Final Fantasy IV Complete or something like that. -- edit Also do you mean the 2d or 3d version of After Years?
Tried to do this survey and it keeps erroring out. Also give us an option for not playing ... this can take longer than notified ... gave up after the errors. 🤷🏽♂️
I've played through Rebirth 3 times now and I watch every RU-vid video I can find that either goes in deep on analysis or speculates about Part 3. I just can't seem to get enough of this amazing game. Thank you for the time and work you've put in to compiling this video. I'm looking forward to more of these in the future.
@drewtheunspoken3988 Same, I'm on my second playtrought, the first one was 200 + hours on normal dynamics. Now halfway trought Hard at 300 hours, almost done with platinum if I can finish the VR battles... I hope they don't derivate from rebirth too much. One of the best game ever made in the past 12 + years..
Probably nothing lol just stuck between parallel universes. You can see he was added for pure fan service. Removing all the dying world scenes wouldn't change anything to the story
I hope they go the omega route regarding jenova. That's the only way to truly get rid of her. Have omega unalive everyone on gaia, take the lifestream, and stick it on another planet. Everyone gets reborn on the new planet, leaving jenova to rot on the old one. (See Dirge of Cerberus for Omega lore) It's highly possible Gaia itself is an illusionary planet. Similar to what dream zanarkand is in ffx.
@@LunalovaniaGaming in the old FF7 Ultimania guide book, it gives several hints that FF7 takes place several hundred years after FFX. Of course there's the link with the Al-Bhed Shinra, but Cid's 2nd airship, the Shera (seen in _Advent Children_ and _Dirge of Cerberus)_ wasn't constructed by Cid, but excavated by his team. The airship bears many resemblances to the culture in FFX
@@Dontdoit_ Cid is a main character though, he deserves more than just a flashback. The space section is important not just because of Cid fulfilling his dream, it because it also lets the characters get a perspective of everything they’re fighting for
Same. The endgame was insane minus the minigames to get party and weapon level. Loved the combat sim and getting kinda good at it. Such a hard endgame though, but that's why I'm still there.
@@Yadlina people like different things what is mediocre to you may be really good to someone else. you may hate some games but someone else may love it that does not make it bad.
@@supersaiyaman11589 yeah but "greatest game ever played" for a mario party action adventure mix with a bad tweaked final fantasy 7 story is a bit too much exaggerating.. dont you think?

I made that mistake with part 1 I unfortunately bought it on epic games store.
I swear to God, if Genesis shows up and he is like "Infinite in mystery..." One more time I'm going to lose it faster than Jack when Chaos is mentioned.
I’ve always found Genesis hilarious. Every scene he’s in starts with him quoting lines from a fictional play based on a billboard in the background of one scene at the beginning of the original game
Maybe Tifa will have a boss duel with Zangan to receive her final Limit Break. It would be awesome if she gets to locate him in some remote location too.
I'm in my 40s and lived through a lot of gaming moments and Rebirth was the greatest gaming experience I've had since play final fantasy X for the first time.
@@aW-qi4od I don't. It took me until May to Platinum Rebirth and I played it almost every day since the early March release. I loved it, except for the late Chadley simulator fights. I got those too though.

Tired of these complainers and wining. Ff7 remake trilogy is not a cash grab. It's called enhancing and enriching the story. Everything has been done to flesh out and expand the world of ff7, but people who keep complaining about dumb shit like "they made part 1 a 80 hour section that was only 8 hrs in the original. Yeah because Midgar was was just a pixelated sandbox on a cd rom disc. The new ff7 needed more and that's what we got. And coming from someone who loves the hell out of the original too. Sales aren't the best because the economy is financially bad. Everything is expensive and not everyone bought a ps5 NOT because the game is bad or no one wanted it............. you don't like it it's YOUR problem.
The PS5 is on track to outsell the PS4 when it completes its lifecycle. That being said, part 3 is likely to be launched when the PS5 is at the end of its cycle and will be around when Remake was launched. That being said, part 3 should in theory sell as much or more than part 1 if this remains true.
The vast majority of what was included as extra in the midgar section was totally unnecessary. Unless you think "extra content" is always good just to extend the length of a game, in which case please do not make games. The only improvements were some side quests to flesh out the avalanche group more. That's IT. You can't defend things like the stupidly dragged out train location or repeated visits to a boring sewer and having to fight the same boss twice. Almost everyone complains about the plot ghost crap because it is dumb. Sephiroth appearing all the time to say some terrible lines of dialogue and then beaten at the end of the first game destroys all sense of mystery or threat. They do that again in Rebirth, though at least in that one his appearances make some sense instead of pure dumb fanservice like in remake. Then they beat him again of course. After all, what better way is there to make a villain threatening then for him to show up and keep getting his ass handed to him? Ooh, I wonder if we can beat the embarrassing stalker guy we always beat again for a third time! So exciting. Rebirth was more acceptable as a game because it was actually taking a decent amount of the OG to turn that into a real game, making the bloated filler less blatantly obvious and gross (though it was still clearly there) and Yuffie got more attention as a character, and yuffie's a fun character. So far the only improvements on these games is fleshing out the Avalanche characters more in remake and fleshing out yuffie more in rebirth. It doesn't make up for the fact squareenix Destroyed FF7's iconic villain. New players will have NO idea why he became iconic if their only introduction is this pathetic clingy punching bag. And deep down you agree with every single point I have made and that OG is overall a better game, with better writing and is actually a COMPLETE adventure instead of it being ripped into 3 chunks and bloated with filler and a story that's been basically destroyed. You agree, but will do your best to block that from your mind because you're an FF7 fanboy and by loving these remakes you get to relive your childhood a bit. OG FF7 was great, but I don't let myself get obsessed with games to the point I can't let go and demand remade versions of them, I let them live on in memory and just play some different NEW games... try that sometime.
I'm glad we got more of Midgar fleshed out. The length was fine in the original given how much more game there was. Still, I enjoyed actually spending more time in the super city to build relationships and expand the backstory of the world and make it feel more connected. Something rebirth has continued to do
Thank you! I get sick of hearing the complaints and whining, myself. I, too, am a massive fan of the original FF7. I have heard a ton of complaints similar to what you are talking about, and I have heard many people complain about it not being a "faithful remake", because they wanted the story to be exactly the same, just with a glow up and some QoL improvements. The problem I see there, honestly, is that the original was reported and remastered for PS4 and other console gens; I love the story changes and how they have integrated all of the extra things from the universe outside of the original game, and the changes have made it like a brand new story and game, and made it feel fresh, despite knowing what was going to happen.
As much as I can't wait for part 3 and want it as soon as possible, I would very much prefer that they take the time they need to make it the masterpiece it deserves to be rather than rush it to market. I'm happy to wait a little longer to see this be the best it can be.
Hamaguchi isn’t flat out saying they aren’t working on DLC, just nothing to share. That being said, it would be appropriate for them to do DLC for Vincent (fitting since they did one for Yuffie and they are both optional characters in the OG) so we can be introduced to his play style. I’m betting he will play like he did in Dirge of Cerberus but with modern controls.
I hope his limit break isnt just a one move transformation thing, hopefully we actually get to control the monsters he turns into, im also hoping we see the rhino tank, was bummed out it wasnt in gongaga :/
Vincent DLC would be amazing but hey, why not have a Cid DLC as well? Wouldn't mind having the Rocket Town Region as a DLC too which can take place during Rebirth and can even be staged like the OG. They'd have to make some dialogue adjustments prior to leaving the Nibel Region though. Not the first time they've made adjustments (which they did in Remake)...
The survey made me realize how many FF games I have on my backlog. And I’m referring to games I’ve purchased and haven’t played. And I recently ordered the Pixel Remaster Anniversary Edition so that’s another 6 games.
My only wish is that they don't make part 3 a PS6 exclusive. Aside from that, a DLC for Vincent, similarly to Yuffie's, would be cool. Cid and Vincent were basically background characters in Rebirth so I'm expecting to see a lot of them in part 3
I hope not. Given how people are upset with the PS5 (all that power just to be shafted by last generation) and poor sales of said console (people refuse to buy one since there's barely any games on it) they'll be crazy to release it on 6 only.
@@SomeOfMyBusiness definitely not. The game itself will be 2027. The full collection, maybe sometime later. But we are not getting part 3 by the end of next year. I wouldn't want to either, let them cook.
If the final game does not come out in early 2027, than i think we get the reveal trailer on FF VII 30th anniversary, followed by a year of promotion until release.
Based on how every promotion moment has been scheduled for Rebirth, you can hope to see the first 1-minute name reveal trailer somewhere between Summer Games Fest 2025 and FF7 anniversary 01/2026
As much as it pains me. I'd take that reality for a 2028 release date if it meant they can deliver their full vision and not fall flat at the last hurdle. That'll be my 30th anniversary of playing though funny enough. Worth the wait ;)
Even if it means having to have another team do it I think the best thing they can do for sales on part 3 is to port the first two games to every possible platform they can as fast as they can. Market the hell out of that and people will be frothing at the mouth by the time part 3’s release date is announced.
remake is already on pc. pretty sure they don't care to put it on Xbox because hardly anyone has an Xbox. rebirth can be ported to pc next year after exclusivity on Playstation has run out. if you think they games could play on a switch... we'll maybe if you have T1 internet and play it through the internet like doom but that's not really feasible for most people
a mid to late 2027 release date for part 3 would be perfect as they‘d be able to market it as a big 40th anniversary game for the entire series and THE 30th anniversary title for FFVII specifically
Reunion has to be a massive game considering all the loose ends that need wrapping up and all the things there are to do. WEAPONs, new summons, Northern Crater, finally destroying Sephiroth, finding a suitable conclusion for Aerith and Zack in their different universes, Rocket Town, Mideel, Wutai, likely Deepground, putting Cloud back together, seeing if Aerith and Cloud finally get their lovers ending, ultimate weapons, level 4 limit breaks, and ending the compilation. There's a lot to do, and I hope they take the time to work it all out satisfactorily.
They don’t need to change Cid and Sheras relationship. His arc concludes when he realizes he was wrong about how he treated Shera after the tank explodes. Leading to him changing as a person. Cid got neutered as a character in rebirth. If they’re changing Cids redemption then it’d be best to just cut rocket town altogether because what’s the point? Cid will have learned nothing and not grown as a character if him and Shera are just okay together.
Just wait till we get to Rocket Town and then you can finally decide whether he was "neutered" or not. My guess is that Shera will probably address him with some bad news triggering him into the abusive state we were introduced to in the OG. He still has to have an arc of his own after all. I've been entertaining the idea of Rocket Town being a DLC just so it matches with the OG narrative of events. All that dialogue about the keystone could be carried over while in the air flying 'to' Rocket Town and like the OG, they still escape in the Bronco taking damage thus leading to them still crash landing in the river enroute to Costa del Sol. Whether there needs to be another boss battle with Palmer, however, is another matter entirely. We gotta have that iconic hit by truck moment which will likely be saved for Part 3 instead (or still include it and have Shera behind the wheel allowing their escape). Palmer should still survive too I reckon. And there has to be a reason why Rufus "needs the Bronco" which would seem redundant now, so perhaps they seek to confiscate it, knowing that he's been flying Cloud and the party around. He's still employed with Shinra after all. Maybe Shinra will be waiting for them to land and in turn, impound his plane sending him into fits of rage, etc.
I took the survey, I really hope that Part is not different from Rebirth.. I think they should stick as close as possible to it. They better not change the battle system.
It's a damn shame being along for the ride from the '90s, wishing we could get a remake. Seeing the PS3 tech demo sending people into hysterics of hype that carried through enough momentum to the heart-stopping confirmation in 2015. Maybe it's a bit sad, but I can remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I saw that nine years ago. Then we finally get the remake. It's great; the faded embers spark into a roaring flame once more. A few more years pass, and we get Rebirth, which was an astounding delivery above the Remake... and it's a damn shame that there seems to be, at best, not enough of us around enthused to buy the game, looking at its sales forecast. It deserves more for the quality, labor of love, and the technical precedent set that shows what is possible to do, expanding the scope of an ancient gem into the modern era, given that one game is three modern games in size.
I just wanted to say that the Zack picture you used for the thumbnail is stunning, thanks for giving Cloud a break! xD They really made everyone stupid hot in these remakes 😂 ANYHOO excellent video as always 😊
I’m pretty sure I read an article earlier this year about how remake didn’t meet sales projections and that they were going to shift their focus to multi platform for future games. They felt the exclusivity is holding back their sales. Consoles are to expensive to buy one for one or two games. Not in this economy at least. 🤪
Doubt it would happen, but I think it'd be cool if they made Rufus into a party member in late game for part 3. Yeah some people would hate it, but they've already added a lot of depth and nuance to his character, as well as establishing a unique fighting style for him that could easily translate to him being player controlled. And they've shown that they're fine messing with the established lore and doing alternate universe stuff. Would be a cool surprise and an interesting twist. Don't really care if it deviates majorly from the original, they've done plenty of that already.
We could see them doing their thing during the Temple of the Ancients and the Forgotten Capital. They both must have Cetran weapons too. Also, maybe there will be extended exploration around the Forgotten Capital like in the OG.
I bought my PS5 to play FF7 rebirth, 2 months before it came out. I would be fuming if they release FF7Rx exclusively on the PS6. So please Square, don't do that 😅 And I really thing they need to release it for the 30th anniversary in 2027, I don't think it is worth missing that date just to make the game in Unreal 5.
Enjoyed remake, and loved rebirth even more, spent 300 hrs on it and still have a hard difficulty run left, definitely my GOTY, hope they can top it off in part 3, will love to see more Zack and CC characters.
There is a lot of work they already have done, but they have Midheel, Wutai, Underwater areas, Northern Continent, Modenheim/islands, Goblin Island and where Knights of the Round are, and they will most likely do the Rocket Town area, and possibly a small Space sequence with the weapons, Highwind, and then other parts of Midgar. The list just goes on and if they add the rest of the cast from the compilation, part 3 has the potential to be twice as big as Rebirth and they probably still won't be able to capture and tie all the loose ends within the compilation. I think keeping our eye on Ever Crisis will be a way to see what potentially will be coming in Part 3.
I was very undecided about whether I wanted it to be possible to save Aeris. In the end, I decided I think it should be possible. And I reached that decision when I happened to be reading the box of Rebirth and noticed that it said "Defy Destiny Together," and if we are going to defy destiny, that has to be the outcome 😂.
i played and completely Mastered the OG well over 20 times since 1997 and started playing it again….i just can’t seem to have it in me and don’t see remake or rebirth even replayable,i finished them and have yet been willing to play them again ,I was happy to just get through them and sometimes didn’t think I would, not interesting or replayable imo
@@Silverfish-qv8ig the chaper select is annoying because you have to play through the whole story again and cant do anything unless you do,free play to get items and side quests would have been nice and most of the time you cant fast travel unless you replay the whole story in the chapters
@@welder4life690 Yea, that fast travel thing is true - just noticed that. I definitely struggle most with replaying Remake though. Some of those endless corridors are really annoying. Especially when they quite literally pull the floor from underneath you, thus recycling the same bloody corridors!
I for one do have an issue with all the tasks required to do the zack and sephiroth challenges... I started working on it, but then realized I still need to beat the summons, then do some solo challenges iv read are very hard, but then once you get zack and seph, it's the same challenge the solos are already... so I decided it wasn't worth pursuing anymore lol and settled for watching a video of those challenges. It would be cool if there were an easier way to play as zack and seph for fun
I reckon that it will be released as early as 2026 and 2027 the latest. Only because they stated that the started working on Part 3 2 years ago while they were working on Rebirth. Most if the assets and characters will be reused. 2027 would mark 30 years for FF7 and 7 years since the release of Remake
The biggest problem imo for Rebirth's sale and part 3's future is the Playstation exclusivity period. They are tying both of their hands behind their back, standing on one foot with eyes closed, and yet wonder why sales haven't been great...
Very excited for part 3 when it releases! I’m pretty sure late 2025-early 2026 we’ll get a dlc pack for Rebirth than part 3 release in 2027 most likely.
If they end up making a Queens Blood standalone game. I hope that means we get to see the new additions they've included. I also hope Part 3 adjusts the difficulty based on how well we play. Queens Blood was hard in the beginning. Then it got significantly easier in the latter half of the game.
Biggest problem is going to be if they decide to continue part 3 as an exclusive or multiple platform release. Doing multiple platform releases would take more time for development. If they’re looking to push it out as fast as possible is concerning. That means things will be left out and left on the cutting room floor. If more people had a ps5 it wouldn’t be a problem but the PS5’s original price point and supply and demand is a major problem. They need to release it on at least pc and ps5 and not Epic Game store
8:05 "at the moment, it means Rocket Town is not in their current Narrative plans" Rocket town IS part of the story and if it is omitted, I will be pissed.
I genuinely wonder how many people in here were alive in 1997 when I, along with other Gen-X's, beat Ruby Weapon. In any case, I will be glad to smash through FF7 Reunion when it comes out... because there's no way it won't be called that.
I think we'll get Cid, Vincent, Zack/Cissnei or another character. Cid is an easy one. Having another gun guy is hard for me to think of but i suppose they could make it like...idk. Slower stronger shots for Vincent and more multi hit abilities.
I feel part 3 will be completely off base from the original. The Reason why is because technically Safer Sephiroth was the final boss of the original and Aerith was spiritually alive and it shocked Sephiroth that she unlocked her true potential to travel Between different realities without a "host" body evident by Cloud having Degradation disease slowly turning into Sephiroth like Glen did. So don't be surprised if the game is totally different from what you remember! Because Aerith is physically alive in "the world that accepted its fate" along with Cloud and Zack. Which I feel part 3 will show both sides of the game and may potentially have us fight Sephiroth to stop meteor in one timeline and to awaken Holy in the other timeline world. Now for the finale, Sephiroth will have 3 Battles: 1 in the world that accepted fate which I believe is the "real" world, one in the timeline where Aerith passed then the climatic ending where Sephiroth gathers all other versions of himself and becomes "Kami Sephiroth"! Hopefully we get the choice of good or bad endings!
Thank you so much for those news ! I'm so excited for the third game I hope they will be able to change it to Unreal Engine 5 and be able to release it on both PS5 and PS6 just like Remake did (PS4 and PS5). Personnaly I think the game should be releasing early 2028 around March or February cause I really want the game to come with only 4 years of wait maximum, plus I hope they will take feedbacks from players and critics about Rebirth and change that in the third game. For example taking more time to enhance the shaders and light to make the characters visually better even in non-cinematic interactions, putting more details into the textures and I hope they will rework the whole "open-world" system. I feel like the towers weren't really needed since they could have make us unlock part of the map as we continue the main story, but I believe in Square Enix :'D I can't wait for it ! And I hope Rebirth gets GOTY 2024
I love this trilogy and can't wait for Part 3! It's a major bummer that the sales of Rebirth tanked and I can't help but feel that the third part will somehow suffer as a result. I have a suspicion that SE has considered doing more than 3 parts, there would be the trilogy of course which would reproduce the story of the original game (well, maybe 90% of the story lol), but I would not be surprised if they've thought of additional games as sequels or sidequels to the trilogy, though with the disappointing sales numbers of Rebirth, it's probably not likely they'll move forward with anything like that. I predict that FFVII Remake Part 3 will release in the fall of 2026. If using the gap between FFVII Remake and FFVII Rebirth as a baseline (4 years), but adjusting for this timeline for both the delays caused by COVID and the high likelihood of MORE reused assets (both visual constructions and gameplay mechanics) between Rebirth and Part 3, I think this is a reasonable and likely release period. If I wanted to be conservative to cushion expectations, I would say early 2027 at the absolute latest.
Remake (pt1) being a ps4 « swan song » title drove its sales too. Part 3 should and most probably will be a swan song / cross generational title too, the way pt1 was.
Assuming they have a similar marketing schedule and pace as Rebirth, I can see R3 being announced around August of next year. I really think they want to release this last game in time for the 30th Anniversary of FFVII.
I don't mind if they do some random locations for DLC while part 3 comes out. But Wutai better NOT get that treatment and it better be part of the main story.
I did the survey. I struggled with the 5 words thing. I didn't know if you was supposed write something like, Has a very good story, or write something less like a sentance like Story Music Short Graphics Gameplay. I ended up going with the Latter.
Not going to begin to get my hopes up for a release date anytime soon. I'm just going to expect it to be released in 2031 and be thoroughly happy if it turns out to be sooner than that.
I hope they copy FFxvi's arete stone training mode for part 3. Would be great to be able to work out all this depth in the combat system without good/bad consequences.
I want the combat simulator to include at least 150 trials. Or put ALL enemies in there, and i wanna be unlocking challenges 6 months after release. But ot know that's wishful thinking! Especially asking for the minigames to not be tied to party or weapon level ( level 9 was hell, hard mode was the correct way but minigames for party level 10 was WRONG)
