FF9 was the first game that I was so thoroughly in love with that when I was a kid I would get ready for school as fast as possible just so that I would have extra time to play it before I had to leave. I would just sit in the kitchen where we had a little tv on the counter and play for 15 or 20 minutes running around on the overworld map doing a couple fights and gaining a few levels so I could do the next story beat when I got some from school. I cherish that memory a lot.
FF9 to me is the pure embodiment of what it means for a game to be called Final Fantasy. It’s so beautiful. It’s so poignant. It’s a world I still to this day can’t get over, and the story told within that world is just as beautiful and touching. It’s the story of life, death, and everything between. What you make of life is yours, and you will own it for better and for worse. I love this game- heh, I actually bought my first PS1 last year just so I that could justify owning a physical copy of the game. It’s not just a game- it’s art.
@@CosmicTornado1FF9 is the definition of a masterpiece in my eyes. There is truly not a single aspect of that game I would change, even with modern capabilities. I don’t think they could recapture that magic if they tried. The PlayStation 1 era FF games in general are art. They will never be replicated or replaced. Even FF7 Remake couldn’t capture that magic again, despite how fantastic that game is.
OMG, same! I've had a lot of favorite games over the years, but this one holds a special place in my heart. FF9 came into my life during a difficult time (high school) and I fell in love with the game, everything about it was-- is beautiful, the story, the characters, the music, all of it. This game was one of the few comforts I had during that time in my life, and as silly as this may sound, every so often when I play the game over again, I wanna make sure I do the best I can because I feel like the game and the characters deserve it.
I will always remember the simpler time of my life when I was engrossed in the world of FF9. Dali was the most memorable chapter for me, So peaceful, so calming, so serene, no worries of the real world. This game will always have a special place in my heart. ❤
me to! I remember i was in music camp and i had sheets for dali and i was playing that trying to do cool stuff with that theme via computer. but i did aurons theme mostly from FF10 >:D I think one of the most memorable places in FF9 that really stick out to me is 1. gizzamagrukes grotto (the boss theme with that boss scared the shit outta me which made it an intense fight!) 2. burmecia (the setting was just so wow with the feels and the music
i could cry. the nostalgia for us who experienced this game in its origin, back when it came out... so much has changed for us and the world we live in now. we can never go back to those innocent times, but this music can truly remind us of that peace and safety. it is not so easy anymore, but this feeling from out past can be experienced within these musical moments forever.
yo im here at work. When i heard this. I went out for a smoke break teary eyed. Absolute nostalgia and tear jerker. How time flies so fast, the moment i listened. I went into trance, 15 years back to when i was such an innocent child playing this game
I clicked on this as a recomnded video at like 3am and instantly fell asleep for a good like 15-20 min 😅 I want to replay this game. I love it so much.
Zidane had been back with Tantalus cooking up his grand entrance for at least a week beforehand, they definitely told him what happened to sweet little Vivi.
remember all the times as a kid playing this game. it was so peaceful and i didn't have much stress going on in my life. In my 30s now and I just can't seem to enjoy anything fun.
Hey, could you credit me on the comments for the art used on this video? It's a painting I have done years ago of the Black Mage Village (not Dali), I still have the original canvas decorating my room. Nice version of Dali's theme btw, always glad to see more love for FF9 :)
I'm not crying..it..just..something got in my eye.. Ok,i really crying.. Because I Saw Vivi just like waiting...The end of his life and then stop moving when everyone get their happy ending... That just really make me sad +...I'm also sad because of childhood memories...:(
Adoro que quando a musica acaba o som da chuva continua, criando um vacuo de silencio e estatica da chuva, eu até me acostumei com o timming e clico rapidão na aba do video e volto tudo do começo.
@@RalphRoberts1 If you're in disc 1 of the game, you have to pass through the Ice Cavern before getting to Dali village. There's a boss near the exit of the cave, Black Waltz 1, which gave me a hard time when I first played it as a kid.
Great music! I think it would be brilliant if it faded out at the end. Shoot, let the music fade out but the rain stays for another 30 seconds before that fades away too.
