Daniel Tidwell performs his version of the battle theme from the video game Final Fantasy 7. The backing track was also performed by Daniel. The score was composed by Nobuo Uematsu. The audio is also slightly out of sync with the video, nothing I could do about it. Hope you enjoy it!

I heard this back in 2006, and it blew my mind, one of the first FF good Metal covers I heard, also I put you in my "heroes" list on Myspace, when it used to be to be cool xD It became one of my "battle themes" when I got into the University, and now almost 6 years later I'm almost done with school and I still "fight" with this theme, you still give me the creeps when I listen to this and all you music, :,) thank you man! and keep it up! because the world will allways need REAL Metal covers! lml

I never "played them off" as my own and always give credit to the composer when I cover a song. I never claimed to write them. I acquire mechanical licenses via the Harry Fox Agency/Limelight and pay royalties to the composers on sales. Selling cover songs is legal if you do it the legal way.

Watching this vid made me wipe my covered with dust, old PSX, plug it to the TV, insert Final Fantasy cd1 and play it once more from the start for the 8th time! :) Thanks bud, I almost forgot about this epic game, which basically have taught me English since I was 9. I remember how I translated every dialogue with a dictionary, occasionally asking my 10 years older sister for help ;) Damn, I'm being nostalgic right now...

If anyone hasn't yet noticed, clearly there is a disconnect between what people who know nothing about guitar (like myself) see and what people who do know about guitar see. I had to watch the video a second time after being "enlightened" by another commenter in order for it to look right. And also to clear up any confusion, the audio IS out of sync (which is what initially caused my concern), Daniel even mentions it in the description. This of course doesn't mean the video is fake.
