Final Fantasy VII Rebirth - All Summons Comparison - Original vs Rebirth & Remake - 4k 60FPS All the game captures, editing, thumbnail were done by me.
KOTR summon is the most awesome summon in the OG FF7. But the most painful one to loot since I need to breed a golden chocobo. LMAO I'm just wondering how would they let us loot that KOTR materia in part 3. HAHA
But as a tradeoff it became more functional: it is a now a rocket booster, laser cannon, and beam blaster all at once. And don't forget the second set of wings is now an array of homing laser launcher. That thing is ARMED.
I think the reason they didn’t is due to some technical issues that would arrive trying to do that especially agaisnt certain enemies or on certain terrains.
Cool - what I like is you can see they have retained the core look and feel of OG FF VII and appropriate updated. I mean 30 years ago we were all like "woah", but now the clarity and detail just leaves you speechless. I can't wait to see "Knights Of The Round" 🤣
How tf are people disappointed in Neo Bahamut?????? Are we looking at the same attack? The triple beam, the way the sound cuts midway and then resumes as the beam grows stronger, the aftermath explosion, Holy shit that was amazing, I couldnt care less that they didn't implement the elevator ride.
The complaints that i see is that he doesn’t pick up a chunk of the map with the enemies on top of it, and then destroys the chunk of land and the enemies on it. Of course that would be extremely difficult to do in this game as here they couldn’t ignore stuff like summoning indoors or in a cave.
Elevator ride? Dude literally sliced the clouds open just to vaporize the platform they were on. We've seen grenades and super lasers before. Barret's 2nd limit break is just a super laser. The new Bahamut just took the edge out of the attack.
@@Alejojandro Why is it wrong? Can you imagine if the original had Rebirth's graphics? It won't even be a debate. Original clears and it's not even close. Don't be blinded by the shiny new toy
Been waiting for this. Awesome video! Think SE could re-work Kujata and Phoenix's final attacks just a little bit, they feel "less powerful" visually. Phoenix's summon animation in CC Reunion was really wow! Looking forward to the upcoming enemy comparisons! 👍👍👍
Kinda feel like they all do. I kinda get why they didn't do the way they used to, Maybe it would be too hard to pull a chunk out of the floor and teleport you to a sky environment out of nowhere on modern hardware, but Bahamut Neo was a lot more impactful on OG even if he did have 3 different breath attacks. Calling it now, There is no way in hell that Bahamut Zero will fire a laser at the planet from space in part 3.
@@tatecheddar I think their issue is more the gameplay impact. It wasn't really a problem in the original since it was essentially turn based, but completely taking you out of the battle for a minute in the action combat of the remakes would throw people out of their flow.
Have you seen what's been going on in FFXIV over the course of the last 10 years? If not, I recommend you to check out both of the Leviathan boss fights (The Whorleater and Heritor of The Whorl) and especially the boss fight against Cagnazzo.
Yes that one was always my favorite. Would have looked bad ass maybe leviathan gives the party a boat and goes up the tidal wave and then camera cuts from behind the enemy and all you see is a giant snake screaming with a huge wall of water coming at you.
Seems they tried to compromise by adding accessories and ornaments to his horns, back leg heels but I agree the nose ring is like textbook bovinae fashion.
Seeing how you made a video comparing the monsters and bosses of both Final Fantasy 7 and the Remake, are you going to do the same for both Rebirth and Final Fantasy 7?
It's crazy to think of having the summons in the battle field in Rebirth compared to how we all imagined it could be while playing OG FF7. And to think that KoTR has 13 Knights in them just blows my mind right now. lol
I was hoping when we summon Neo buhamut, not only do we get the summon but the summon also changes the battles field into a floating island and we must do as much damage as we can, only for Neo buhamut to nuke the sky island.
Yeah I was very disappointed by it in honesty. I think people should prepare for disappointment for Bahamut ZERO, KOTR and Supernova too. It's a shame because some of the other less spectacular summons were improved
I mean even if they chose not to do this for every time the summon is called, at least make it a set piece in the battle against the summon (ideally not in VR). Both the Bahamut battle in FF16 and the old Neo and ZERO versions make this look weak
Miss that they din't include some of the invocations way of entering the scene Odin backdrop with the Fullmoon slowly getting in the frame is such a mood. Having him just pop up on the Battlefield is honestly disapointing.
I'm kind of hoping they change summons for part 3, so the remaining ones, especially bahamut zero and knights of the round can have their epic entrances and attacks, that's what made people love those summons. If they're just in battle with us with a 10 second ultimate attack, I think it'd be meh, considering how powerful kotr and bahamut zero are.
New ones look amazing, but the sound design on the originals, to this day over 20 years since I first played it, are still burned into my mind. It was so iconic.
This made me realize I don't think I ever summoned Kujata in the OG despite playing it repeatedly. I always got him, but its so late in the game he was irrelevant. I always did the Chocobo racing/breeding stuff as early as possible so I was getting Knights of the Round & Mime around the same time so never had a need for Kujata. The original animation was pretty badass though, I like it.
When i was a kid playing the OG the summons were the coolest thing in the game to me😂 like barely remember anything from the story but those summon animations left an impression on me😂
I've always thought that original Ramuh always looked like an old man that has seen some shit lol. Love how in the remakes that the party reacts to the ultimate attacks, like getting out of the way or looking in awe.
@Invertedzero cut short? They are not comparable. The og summons were a green materia with a long cinematic. The new ones are an ally that stays and fights for a couple minutes. They finish the fight with a cutscene that's in general fairly short but you interact with them now. It's apples and oranges.
My brother told me that giga flare in the og is implied to be so powerful that it had to be fired without hitting the earth hence the enemies being lifted. Not seeing the enemies get lifted like that made me a bit sad. But I get the streamlining
Crossing my fingers for a mode that puts the summons that deserve a more COLOSSAL SIZE in a more realistic scale. Imagine the dragons heads as big as the stage itself??
I must have never summoned Kujata in the original and only ap grinded it’s materia to get the master summon materia because I don’t recognize that summon whatsoever
I was looking at remake Ramuh's staff and see if SE reuse his Ixion Staff from XV. sadly they didn't. Wait! Odin has no Gungnir sequence?...that's unfortunate. The only summons missing are Typhoon, Hades, Bahamut Zero and Knights of the Rounds. hopefully we see them in the third part of FF7.
@@wind1574 I'm sincerely sick of it. I wish they would find a personality. It's a video that compares artistry/choreography of the Original to the remake... and this loser is mad someone has an opinion. Which he clearly doesn't understand it's something people can have.
@@NeroCrucible Why is it nitpicking? To some people these were elements of the original game they valued and wanted to see emulated or improved on in Remake/Rebirth, and comparing them, I would agree some don't have the same impact or attention to care for the attack sequence. It can clear be done because 1/ The OG did it 2/ The Remake already improved on a few of the OG summons, so why make others less great. 3/ FF16 showcased how epic in scale Summon fights and attacks could become 4/ The constraints confining the move to short time limit is a bad and unnecessary one, that loses the spectacle and ridiculousness of the original sequences (Like Neo raising them up into the air). Could have opted for a FF9 approach of having an initial long sequence then option to use the short form after that. 5/ The argument against them having OTT cinematograph and it needing to being realistic is a weak one given the levels of dramatic attacks and choreography seen in FF16 (arguably a more mature and 'realisitic' setting)
I hope they bring back all the summons from Remake and Rebirth in Part 3 alongside the rest of the updated Summons from the original. These are all too badass to leave behind.
Bahamut Arisen was awesome. Wanted to see how tough gigaflare was and was hoping Ramuh would unleash Judgment Bolt before Bahamut attacks but nope ☠️☠️☠️ all of sudden everybody died and he only had like 10% health left
While animation and graphics are far better, I do prefer the old versions entrances and how they affect their surroundings. Makes them feel a bit stronger and epic. I do kinda understand why they made them the way they did with how the gameplay works, but I still hope Bahamut Zero will be the giant dragon space laser that he is.
This is my first time seeing some of the other party members in the game as I've only seen footage from the very beginning of the story in the remake. That's not really the voice I expected Red XIII to have.
Bahamut looks like it uses Ahk Morn / DeathFlare from FFXIV more than it uses what I'd traditionally consider Megaflare from the old games. Neo Bahamut opens by spamming FFXIV's MegaFlare from it's wings before using GigaFlare from FF7. Yeah I'm not too impressed. Titan looked ridiculous
They added Gilgamesh, so will probably be more new ones. I bet Odin will have a Gungnir attack too. Just 4 new summons will be way too few for the final part. Two things OG 7 always lacked were poison and wind-elemental summons. Hades inflicts Poison status, but the attack itself is non-elemental.
