Im glad they made Barret and Dyne’s relationship more emotional in the remake, the original didn’t really explore it much, and Dyne’s death definitely didn’t have the same feel to it

2:01 onward is when the fight gave me chills. While the fight isn’t very visually dramatic/fantastical compared to other encounters, it’s similarly eerie to the boss battle in NieR: Automata against one of the brothers during ending A. The long, drawn out notes from the horn instruments coupled with the occasional soft trumpets compliments this feeling of “two misunderstood men who’s words cannot reach each other, making their last stands.” The dramatic build up is amazing.

i totally agree, but even visually too. like dyne in that cutscene getting all that scrap together and the red lasers literally made this seem like an automata fight

Right in 1:56, watching Dyne having a little breakdown mixed with that tragic soundtrack, my eyes got teared up, because Dyne is a broken man, but still, Barret tries everything to "save" him, even if that means killing him.

Thanks for these uploads man. This is great... I'm trying to find out what the theme is that plays before you fight Dyne, it's playing when you get to control Barret and walk through the fence. It was amazing and sad.

I do think he has a point… try humming this song off the top of your head with no music to remind you. I can do that with most of the original themes, but this one is fully forgettable. It adds feeling, but they didn’t do a good enough job with barret and dyne backstory to make it work

@@TigerTabCat1 Hamauzu is not a very melodic composer and that's fine, take a listen to FFXIII final boss theme, it isn't a very hummable song and it is still a marvelous piece
