Fully agreed! Valkryie is one of the best original bangers from the entire Remake project. Can't believe how hard this theme slaps! Also, fancy seeing you here, my piano sensei!
My only question will be what the gimmick of the third Valkyrie would be. The first one was machine guns, a shield and a satellite beam. This one kept the guns, but traded the satellite beam and shield for a mounted laser, flamethrowers, and sleeping gas. Also, where would be the most appropriate spot for this fight to take place? It would have to be either on the way to Junon's underwater mako reactor, or when the party returns to Midgar, as those would be where Shinra's mechs are stored. Lastly, who would fight this last Valkyrie? Barret, Tifa, Aerith and Nanaki got to fight the others with Cloud. Who will work together to take on this last Valkyrie?
Love this track! Hits way harder in remake though imo just because of everything that's happening in the story and the climb/song leading up to the battle. In rebirth it kinda just comes outta nowhere and is super overly epic for no reason lol.
Thats why i think chapter 15 in Remake is the best chapter because of the setting. Climbing up while looking down at the destroyed sectors. The sunset, the music on that chapter alone made it my favorite chapter because not only are they proceeding onward but they are also trying to Save Aerith too. Like having all of that in mind while playing that chapter hits soooo hard
Uematsu himself said video games shouldnt shift completely towards having film-score soundtracks and I believe he probably wouldnt like the Valkyrie Theme if he heard it. He was very experimental with his melodies and good at making extremely memorable sounds. Still, I kinda like Valkyrie Theme for how cheesy and hopeful it is. I feel like he might like Bow Wow Wow though
@@thatoneeco Yes I am aware. Sega has no interest in a sequel or remake and the original creator passed away which is why I said I wish somebody else could remake it.
You got cringe in the replies thinking soken is good. C'mon man. Theres a reason he's stuck only doing mmo soundtracks. One of the more generic sounding genres in gaming
He did FFXVI’s soundtrack which literally won best soundtrack at the game awards last year. I know you hate him or whatever but the world doesn’t agree with your assessment lol
