For context: the part from 1:25 to 1:40 is inspired by the FF8 Edea theme.

I’m just now realizing that the ward Aerith uses is the same symbol/design as the Temple of the Ancients - swirling squares. Very cool.

Speechless at the insane quality of this battle theme. If you listen well behind the chorus after 1:41 there is the OG melody playing on horns. Just spectacular. FIlled with despair, conveys so much atmosphere, absolutely nailed it Square.

Temple of the Ancients in this game is probably my favorite area/moment in all RPGs Ive played so far. The original FF7 left an emotional impact on me for sure. But as I was just absolutely destroying the enemies here with the amazing battle themes and the level design completely blew my mind, Ive never had heebie jeebies from how epic a game has been before. Listening to these themes and I am obliterating with Cloud in Prime Mode here, I was actually shaking out the heebie jeebies. There have been many epic games but never has one felt so epic that I literally shook out the overwhelming feelings as I did in the Temple of Ancients. 10/10!!!

It is used in the entrance, but it's a very short area of the game. When you get to the temple and you are outside, before the first combat.

There is one, but it only plays when the temple is about to collapse and the party has to escape with their lives.

Wow, that's one dramatic and dreadful theme, the sad choir is the cherry at the top that sells the whole situation. Probably the best non boss battle theme in the game in my opinion, and that's saying a lot with this game having such a banger soundtrack.
