The only thing that would've made it better is if it ended with Gus slapping the shit out of Garth after the chocobo race, that made me laugh so hard I had to pause the cutscene
This is why I disagree with the people saying that all the extra characterization in these remakes is just padding that they shouldn't have added. Not every new extended character story is a winner, no. Did we need Leslie and his story with Corneo in Remake? No, probably not, but if the same philosophy that brought us that also brought us Mr. Coates -> Gus? Big win on balance.
@@shakeNbake91586 Precisely! It’s mostly a net win. I’ve seen much discourse over new character Roche as being “padding” which is insane to me- since he’s entertaining, unique and offers a new perspective of what Cloud could have become (post chapter 11) if he didn’t have a support system.
It's kinda insane how they went so HARD in so many smaller character themes or side quests. This is truly one of the most impressive, if not best, OST of all time.
@CidGuerreiro1234 chocobo racing alone has 3 bangers that have no right being as good as they are. The space cadet game, you will never listen to the music fully of how long and ellaborate it is. They really went ram this time.
There’s some tracks I miss from FF7 Remake. That had better chill, somber tracks, but Rebirth is def the king of hype and ethereal OSTs - the boss themes are incredible

@@pikespeakaudio8898 The Rebirth stream before last, its when he's checking out the music from the game. That whole part of the stream was fun and hilarious XD. He had meant to play that stream but got lost listening to the music and theory crafting.

I would never have thought that the scummiest, dirtiest place of all of Midgar would have a man with such style and pizazz run the place. (Literally played through of ff7 just before this game came out and was shocked at how much characterisation Gus got!)
@@phootaphan9166 I thought that was Troy too, but the VA is Jonah Scott, who has been active since 2015, and has been collecting some really awesome cast credits lately. Admittedly, their voices resemble eachother quite a bit, I literally shouted "Mah man Trooooy" when Gus started talking in game.

tried putting the lyrics for the battles version together by ear, since we know the lyrics for the gus funk and it sounds like all the lines used there get reused on the battle themes, no idea of what gus is saying half the time tho so I will focus on the female lyrics for battle theme 1, from 3:45 forward it sounds like the female lyrics go...
