Honestly my memory could be dumb because in the og DOES her ribbon fly off or am I confusing it with those quick flashback scenes happening in Advent Children and Remake?

Hmm, maybe Zack had learned astral possession or simply become something akin to a 'Stand' from the 'Jojo' anime series, Cloud's 'Stand' to be precise. Or perhaps even simply because Cloud is 'Zack'. 'Zack' is his soldier's codename(undercover agent)/disguise, or his second personality. Who knows what kind of brainwashing/experiments Shinra did to 'Cloud' while he sign up to be a soldier, I won't be surprise at all if 'Zack' was just Cloud all this time. The memories mix up, constant headaches & identity crisis, plus how he had the strength to kill Sephiroth in the first place. Makes more sense if he was 'First Class', in the first place. So yeah, despite the memory loss or 'Zack's death'(his second personality's so called death), maybe a part of 'Zack' still remained inside Cloud. Maybe 'Zack', Cloud's second personality died because he merged with Cloud. Thus, the 'showdown' with those Shinra soldiers memory was created in Cloud's mind. I mean, how did Cloud survive after suffering such a wound from Sephiroth? Who saved him? More likely to be other Shinra soldiers/Hojo finding him. Or even better, 'Sephiroth' is also just Cloud all this time. Multiple personalities due to the comdamination caused by Jenova cells or because the body created 'Zack' to fight back with the Jenova cells and thus, also creating 'Sephiroth', representing the Jenova cells. Aerith knew that and still fell in love with 'Zack'/Cloud. Found 'Zack' again without the disguise, or just Cloud after absorbing what remains of 'Zack'. Aerith met her lover again. Or, taking the multiple personality disorder theory to the max, all the characters are just Cloud's different personalities(his mental illness). Thus making sense that Aerith saying: 'This isn't about me though. It's about saving the world, and you'. The ending/saving of the world, the curing of his illness. And that's simply because Nomura changed the script and added a Kingdom Heart spin to it. Well, that's just my theory after watching the trailer & playing both the original game & remake lol.

I don’t think it’s wise to trust any of the scenes you think might be big spoilers because you know they cut and paste these things to make us anticipate and then wham it’s something different? Was Aerith really giving cloud the materia? Did sephiroth really kill Zack? Is any of this real? I feel like the stuff with Zack is just dreams, produced by cloud and Aerith, I don’t know though, I also thought that maybe the strange looking people trying to get cloud to get the black materia were somehow whispers different form because they were talking about an endless dream ❤
