OKAY so 3 THINGS: 1. Corgi timeline = Shiba timeline (that plushie looked like a corgi to me, idk) 2. I think I was incorrect in saying that Aerith is controlling the white Whispers, they’re from the livestream and therefore working alongside her 3. I forgot to reiterate an important factor from the game: ever since they left Midgar, Beagle Aerith’s white materia became inactive which is why the trade off needed to happen. If the white materia isn’t active, Holy can’t be cast.

nice review- ever since finishing Rebirth i've been on the "I'm gunna watch EVERY review train" yours is pretty based :) On the subject of Dyne, idk that scene still worked pretty well on me- The way I read it is he still committed suicide it was just suicide by cop this time. The one thing i'd change in that scene is instead of making a Cowboy Bebop reference with "You're gunna carry that weight" I think the original "Don't you ever make Marlene cry..." would have been more heart wrenching. Either way...still cried like a bish.

I think the weight line works better. Their entire town was slaughtered and barret is defined by his guilt.

I personally think there should’ve been a balance while not taking that last line of Marlene out of the convo since Marlene kind of is that reminder while also being a chance of Redemption. Part of me thinks they changed some of Dyne’s dialogue because maybe him wanting Marlene to also die with him may have been too dark.

Cloud is about to collapse, in the brink of madness that will reach when he gets to northern crate. When playong OG, by that moment he was like a joke/bufoon charachter...his arc starts then to recompose himself and atone for what he has done and help save rhe world. When I olayed this in 97 I was really underwhelmed by him.

I'm glad it wasn't just me that hated Cloud in that later part of the game. It was cringe how that personality switch kept flipping at random.

When you think about it, maybe it wasn’t at random haha. But yea they did a good job making Cloud concerning and it was definitely intensified with the graphics and acting which is a plus vs the og.

I put in 101 hours and now going to stream my hard mode playthrough. I loved the gameplay and the handling of the characters but the story is horrible. They removed impactful moments found in the original and didnt replace it with anything better. Subscribed!

My "theory" is that Seph merged worlds (all of them) to kill every single Aerith. Remember what he says when you enter the Forgotten Capital. If I'm not mistaken, there is no intact other timeline that we see after her death. Zack in the collapsing world is the last one we see and Aerith sends him to "our" world at the end. Cloud seeing Aerith is either in the same mood as he was when Zack died, or Jenova is messing with him because everything Aerith says in the final scene doesn't match with what she said earlier in the temple, etc. + She's acting kind of weird and has a red glow in her eyes while saying "you promise" (It's just a few frames, you really have to look for it.) Conclusion: Aerith is dead, Zack is in our world, Cloud is super messed up, all worlds are merged/no more timeline shenanigans

I had the same thing about who the guy with the buster sword in the opening. I’m like it looks like everything happened up until the escape from Shinra building where they die? I think that cloud either got kicked out or he died during the Sephiroth battle from remake. Edge of creation is its own universe so it can explain why Zack can carry cloud

Oohh interesting call, & another plausible explanation! Sooo so far from what we know it’s either Terrier Cloud got kicked/switched out, he lost at the edge of creation, OR he didn’t exist during that timeline due to still being with Zack therefore never meeting everyone from Midgar yet… Now that I think about it if it’s the latter, it can support Biggs coming from the Beagle timeline and Marlene only knowing Cloud due to the “vision” upon meeting Aerith 😵‍💫😵‍💫

@toulor895 yep! I never claimed Aerith showed Biggs visions, it’s clear Biggs knows Cloud personally since it shows Zack and Biggs have a conversation about it. Once the group succeeds in the boss battle of Remake, that’s how Zack’s timeline came to be, we are shown a Terrier chip bag (?) indicating the timeline!

She helps him find his real self again and helps him realize he was never just a puppet. I believe the degradation doesn't stop, especially if AC is now canon as the devs confirmed. The geostigma being a continuation of the degradation but on a global scale via the remnants of Jenova and Sephiroth's will still being in the lifestream when Holy stops Meteor.

@jazzy_okami I think this is post AC, but similar to how Zack was forced to fight a horde of shinra infantry in multiple timelines... Perhaps even Sephiroth will be forced to die the same way at Cloud's hands? What I'm essentially saying is, this is post AC Seph but we are still most likely heading for what happens in AC. The only thing that puts a wrench in that, for me, is that they clearly stated in Remake, the OG-AC timeline was the BAD ending if they don't fight against the will of the planet.

@@jramirez4310cellular degradetion only happens to ppl who underwent soldier change. It isn't stated if its from mako or jenova cells. On the other hand geostigma is from jenova cells infecting ppl and their bodys being tired from fighting her infection. Basicaly two different situations.
