To be fair to Barret: it takes more stamina and energy to go up hill and climb than it does to walk a straight road.

Barret is fine with a straight road. Going against gravity is not his strong suit due to his huge firearm.

Yeah, the remake's strongest point in my opinion is how much they develop the characters from the original. Just take Jessie, Biggs, and Wedge. In the original, they're literally just another NPCs, but here they have distinct personalities and everything. Losing them hits harder too...

Even in combat as the game goes on. Cloud and Barret antagonize each other less then start complimenting each other. By the end, they will sometimes comment on what a good team they make.

@@ricardodeljesus4004 It's not exactly clear yet, but it seems that somehow, by killing the Arbiters of Fate at the end of Remake, the timeline has been altered so that Zack is now alive. Like I said though, it's not entirely clear how this works and will probably get answered in the next game.

@TroubadorPoet That kind of fits with his character. Like Cloud, he's silent and stoic and only tends to speak when necessary. Makes sense for him and Barret to be a comic duo, since they have opposite personalities!

So one of the things they are building on is Avalance and Wutai. I think they are setting Barret up to eventually become the leader of Avanlance.

@@A203D i think its more along the lines on the original on how at the start of the journey it was Barret being the leader, but then later as he opens up to everyone and things slowly get more hectic, Cloud takes over. And as a plus for everyone who played the og, Tifa taking over briefly before leaving to take care of Cloud, and then Cid trying his best to be a fill in leader but cant do it aswell as Tifa and Cloud, and so with that he was happy/relieved to relinquish the role back to Cloud again when he comes back into the fold. But who knows things are changing, only the later parts can tell.

@@imsi107 In Og, Cloud was always the leader except for the first 2 bombing missions which was the only time in the game that Barrett was leader. When they were about to go in open world, near the midgar gate, there is a dialogue where Barrett says he will be the leader, but Aerith says it has to be Cloud. From then onwards, they follow Cloud. I don't think this is gonna change.....unless Zack comes, interferes and fck up the story.

@TroubadorPoet Alternate timeline, Remake Timeline, I like what they're going with either way. Aerith not being present at the church and people attending there crying implies something doesn't add up because there's missing pieces. True, If Zack is in the same timeline, Then what happens to Cloud he was with before? We will definitely get answers in Part 2.

If this was the same timeline then that means there would have to be two Clouds. One who we follow in the story (who made it to Midgar on his own) and another who made it to Midgar with Zack. Yeah this must be an alternate timeline, unless Zack crosses between dimensions somehow. Cant wait for Part 2.

the most significant thing is, while in current timeline Cloud already own Zack's buster sword, and in the scene, we see Zack keep his buster sword, taht would explain he brought Alternate Cloud (I will name him Cloud#2) to midgard, left him Cloud#2 somewhere safe and went to see Aerith, As you can see in Chapter 5, Aerith Church is mostly abandoned, while this Church is full of refugee, I assume these are people from Sector 6, so this alternate timelines are still "years" before Final Fantasy VII

@@OmarO_721 I'm going to guess/widely assume that the Cloud from Zack's timeline will most likely turn into a full Sephiroth Clone, And will probably be a new body for Sephiroth. (There can be only one Cloud) Zack's Timeline will be the Timeline where this Cloud fails to resist the Jenova Cells and becomes a monster, And it'll probably be tragic for Zack because this will be like a callback to back when he was forced to kill his mentor and best friend Angeal. Now this time He'll be forced to kill his best friend and protege Cloud to end his suffering. But if Zack encounters Cloud from the Remake timeline (Which Square is likely going with), It'll probably be a weird reunion. What i mean by weird reunion is: Imagine seeing your sick best friend horribly transformed into a monster, So you have to end his misery. Then all of a sudden you see your best friend from another reality and it's all cool. That's the kind of weird reunion.

@@johnlawful2272 as much as I would’ve liked to have had the original VA from CC I agree it was a directional choice that made him sound bad and trying so hard to be “cool”. His delivery for the CC lines sounded real forced but in the final scene in remake and here he sounds much better and natural. I’m more excited to see where the VA can take it now

​@@ZxChrono Nah, Cloud and Aerith do. They are connected much more deeply than everyone else. They can meet in dreams & have conversations. Cloud can instinctively feel Aerith in spirit (even before her death). This deep connection is only ever shown between Cloud and Aerith, which shows how important they are to each other.
