Final Fantasy VII Remake - Opening Movie | REACTION! 

I am surprised NOBODY has caught the fact that the machine carrying the pipe is supposed to be the same machine part (the hand looking thing you walk up) that you see in the slums. Square really is keying into a lot of small details and I LOVE it!

You can feel as if Sephiroth is haunting in the opening

Given that it is 20+ years later, I'm ok with the addition/ change to the opening. Each opening does different things for the times: Original opening: For scale, but contained to Midgar alone, since players wouldn't know at the time that the game opens up to much more later on. Remake opening: For scale, but shows the outskirts and surrounding area prior to Midgar itself. Since this elaborate retelling will span multiple games and the first game will be Midgar only, new opening illustrates Midgar's effect on the surrounding area right away, as well as giving gamers a glimpse of the outside world that they won't see until later games. "Sephiroth" is a frightening, mysterious "presence" that players chase throughout the beginning portion of the original game, sometimes seeing the aftermath of his work, building up tension for what's to come. Over the years, "Sephiroth" has become a well-known video game character. This being the first of multiple games, along with people already knowing the story and characters, "Sephiroth" will need to make more "appearances" than in the original. The original stars opening makes sense in the context of the overall game: the planet and its place in the universe, along with connections and motives for characters (Cid, Bugenhagen, Jenova, Cetra, etc.).

The craziest part about this is that right where this movie ends the camera pans around Cloud and you take control, which is what we saw at E3.

the opening started with a black winged bird flying over the *cloud*......with sephiroth music creeping in so cool

when the fog is hiding the screen game switches from cgi to ingame graphics. they did a great job nearly no one seems to realise it ^^

The black bird of begin, is Jenova. That's why you can listen to the music that represents Sephirot while Jénova flies through Midgar to meet Cloud and Barret in the reactor of the first Boss, where Cloud can see a black feather fall from the sky, while Cloud is placing the bomb in the reactor and has its first hallucination. Then the black feather of the eagle that flies over Midgard, disappears when it touches the ground ... and Sephirot's voice is heard (which really is Jénova who manipulates Cloud with the image of Sephirot throughout the game). Recall that Sephirot is dead all the time in game, only appears when receiving dark matter, and is born again in the form of Semi God. Welcome ;) !

I feel like Square Enix decided to go ahead with its original marketing plan, despite the month delay to April 10th. For instance: January 31st (Anniversary of the Original 1997 Japanese Release): New trailer with introduction to the ending theme: Hollow. February 14th (Valentine's Day - mid-month): Opening Cinematic trailer. [Screenshots and gameplay info sprinkled throughout the weeks.] [Possible demo drop prior to or on release - Initial Date: March 3rd.] If it had held that initial March 3rd release date, it would have been nice timing actually. However, the delay makes me wonder what the marketing team will do now to keep the anticipation going for another month.

With the release of the ending theme "Hollow" and this opening cinematic, the multi-part game structure finally sunk in... and this dawned on me: We'll be getting multiple Cinematic Openings, Endings, and Themes throughout this elaborate retelling.

ALMOST DA REUNION BOYZ

This game is very important to me as well. Huge part of my growing up and getting me through hard times. I still can't 100% believe that I'm going to be replaying it in a new perspective soon. Just the opening of the game is a masterpiece so I can't imagine what the rest will be 💛 but I have to say. That new part with Aerith when she is startled...👀 My heart jumped. It was so subtle but so creepy

Is that really all the upper plate, or just the "slums" before the upper plate was installed? I'm seeing that playground (was that sector 8?), and you should definitely not be able to see the sky there. I'm thinking about those kids playing in the playground watching the sky get taken away from them as the upper plate gets installed and it is giving me chills.

I wonder how long the wait till part 2 will be? I'd guess 2 year? If we assume there are 3 parts, there is a ton of stuff to get into part 2 still. p.s In 2 days we will no longer be counting months but weeks :)

I’m not sure if that’s “upper Plate” in the daylight, or if the darkness/night is an after effect of the Mako reactors coming online.

I thought it kinda sucked that they chose ps4 for this game, but at least towards the end of a consoles life span games tend to make better use of the hardware. I see everyone refer to the original openning as stars surround Aeris, clearly it was mako in the original, they were GREEN lmao.
