I like watching visualizations that show the notes as they're played on each voice, or the MIDI sequence of notes coming up, for that same reason. It highlights details you might miss if you're hearing it live in game or just listening to the audio on its own.
This song felt like an extreme event taking place. The instruments felt like a world at its end. This remix feels more powerful than some could ever know.
@@hojoadeFFXIVs arrangement was for the Final Eden Raid’s Savage exclusive phase, in which Gaia becomes the Oracle of Darkness and this theme becomes her theme. The Eden Raids had a lot of FFVIII references to them.
Oh man the feels. I can't wait to see FF8 get its remake next once FF7R's trilogy is finished. That or see Square remake 5 or 6 (still kind of a shame they weren't ported to Psp, the best console for RPGs period). That or remake FF tactics knowing lots of people are falling in love with Langrisser Mobile (At least back when i went colleage a few months back), Fire Emblem 3 house, and Disgaea.
I really hope they remake FF8, because I love the original but it is very flawed. A remake could make the game _so_ good. I liked FF7, but some of it is... rough. And the remake smoothed most of that out and improved it - ignoring gameplay (and the ending), the remake is a strict improvement. FF8 could absolutely use the same treatment.
@@klop4228 Yeah ikr? Regardless if FF8R is like the original with turn based mechanic or is action based like FF16/DMC. I would gladly buy it, heck if Square Enix released a demake of FF8 instead like it was in 16 or 8 bit Id still gladly buy it. FF8 and FF tactics were the best FFs to me in the ps1 era.
Got this game for my 15th birthday in '98. While it's honestly my least favorite of the series so far (disliked the Junction system as well as the lack of equipment and completely modern setting), I still enjoyed it regardless. I remember plowing through all 4 phases of the final battle in one try. Being the borderline completionist that I am, I am often compulsed to nail everything down in a game if it means gaining an advantage later or opening up hidden content (achievements, cutscenes, dialogues, etc.). I was so overpowered at this point, I just said "screw it" and tore through Ultimecia like a sports fan going through a bag of chips watching their favorite team compete for a championship on TV at home. Either way, you took it out of here like David Ortiz hitting a home run in the 2013 World Series. ;)
The setting's not really modern, though. It's more like an alt-history retelling of WWII if it took place a century later on a smaller world with monsters and magic. The more you play the weirder it gets.
