I get it now. He was a dream of the fayth so... Yuna defeated Vegegun. In reward to defeating Vegnegum, the fayth granted her one last wish which was for Tidus to come back. Because that all fayth are in eternal sleep and Tidus is existing, he is now real thanks to the fayth. Only if Yuna asked him and hus family... then Jecht would have come back too.
you were wrong. Ketch was dead, really dead after helping braska (yuna' father) get the final aeon. Unlike ketch, tidus was a dream, he never died before so he can get back to this world again
I've always loved that he says, "I'm home." He spent most of FFX trying so hard to get back to Zanarkand but now he realizes that his home is with Yuna.
Till today I thoght that there was no other ending. I played the game and had the bad ending. I tought WHAT A SHIT GAME and cried. Now I know, everything is okay :D
The difference between the expression in English.ver and Japanese.ver, I would feel the illusion has been in the game another character. I think the voice of Aoki Mayuko is matching.Anyway I love Yuna. (Of course I like the voice of Hedy Burress.)
As much as I love the tragic beauty that the ending to FFX brought, I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed when I seen Tidus and Yuna reunite. Both of them deserve some happiness.
We all knew final fantasy x-2 would have to happen, this game shows how far Yuna would go to get Tidus back. Such a perfect moment for both of them, best couple in final fantasy series in my opinion.
Loved this ending. I was so happy to see Yuna get Tidus back, with as much as they meant to each other. The perfect ending, I thought could have been more perfect. It was tender and sweet as it was, but for all the hard work you had to put in to get it, I wanted the perfect ending to be over the top. As in, they should have shown them at a major milestone moment in their lives and relationship, such as the two of them having a baby! Wouldn't that have been so darn cute?
hey!!!!! What the heck??!! I have finished this game like 4 years ago and I never even knew that there will be an alternate ending...this is what i wanna see..Yuna gets to meet Tidus back!! This is sooo nice..you really make my day! thanx for sharing!
@Keejlis He was a dream in the entire game of X. He actually really died in Zanarkand when Sin attacked. Because Jecht was Sin, he brought Tidus to Spira to kill him because he didnt want to kill anymore. After Sin was defeated, Tidus faded away and went to the farplane with his father. The fayth brought him back after Yuna requested it but said that they werent sure what would happen after they do.
Damn. :0 I played this game so long ago and still remember it so fondly. and to think that a video of x-2 is over 6 years old. Damn! Cant wait for ffx's remake!
Yuna: you're back! *hugs* i've missed you so much! Tidus: Yeah....i'm home. And i need to tell you something after all this time Yuna: Me...me too!...2 years...i've waited for you all this time...what is it my love? Tidus: I think we need to see other people.... Yuna....*equips Catnip and uses Happy trigger*
This past summer, I fianlly finished this game, and this ending was what i got.. I remember crying because not only had i worked my butt off, this was such a fabulous ending.
The "perfect ending" doesn't replace this one. It happens AFTER this one. It's an addition you get for achieving 100%. It wouldn't make any sense without this scene before it.
Yuna: "Well You've missed a few things." Tidus: "Yeah so did you." Yuna: "Wait what?" Tidus: "Yeah me and like 9 other warriors defeated the God of Discord and saved all of existence, made friends with all of em' and some how I came back here....you know the usual." Yuna: "......"
@TheDCPProject Finally, someone who says exactly what I be sayin'. FFX-2 is a great game, but you can't just fly through it and hit the 'hot spots', you have to do the side quests too. There's a ton of material there and if you bypass it, the game's gonna feel really shallow. I really felt that closure after getting 100%.
@kidrainenfina Here are the steps, in Chapter 3 you'll have to meet with Maechen at Guadosalam. He's where you meet up with Logos and Ormi in that area. Next at the end of chapter 3 you have to get the "whistling" scene with Yuna, when your alone in the fairplane, move Yuna around and continually press X. You'll hear whistling, which means that you have activated the event.
@Keejlis Because Tidus wasn't 'real' in FFX he was essentially a dream of the collective fayth of Zanarkand. When Yuna released the fayth at the end of FFX , their dreams (The Aeons) faded away which is why he disappeared when that creepy monument of people turned to stone, that was essentially his fayth. All the summons faded when their respective monument things turned to stone. I guess they just bring him back by dreaming of him again as thanks for Yuna freeing them from their fate
@cosmicaler He was a dream of the fayth, and disapeared at the end of FFX because the fayth stopped dreaming. Yuna never knew this though. She thought he was a traveller through time, and looked for signs of him in spheres from time long past. When all along she should have been tracking the spirits of the fayth. When she finally does come across the spirits of the faith, they ask her if she wants him back, and they perform a final summoning, so Tidus can come back. And that's the story.
You will never have a waifu that is willing to devote and risk her life (and her friends lives) for years in searching for you and resurrecting your soul from the afterlife...
in FFX Ending he accidentally jump into the clouds, didn't realize the clouds are full of water not cotton, and fall into the sea near at besaid island and went into coma for 2 years in the water.
@rickross22 Auron was from the recent age of Spira. He was a friend of Yuna's father, Braska, before Jecht came along. Jecht was the 1000 year old ghost. Auron was a young man when they started out. So it could TOTALLY be possible. Just would require a great story telling spin. Auron was just too stubborn to die when he found out the real secret of Sin.
@terraleone The thing is, a lot of people act like the "Good" ending and the "Perfect" ending are separate endings when they're not. It's really like one big ending broken up into parts, and you have to unlock the parts. The "Common" ending precedes the "Good" ending, and the "Perfect" ending comes right after it. It's not like if you unlock the perfect ending you don't see this, so really, it's perfect because you get to see everything.
Believe it or not, it took me 312 fucking HOURS to finally get this ending. I was on 99% for ages and I was like "OH MY GOD!" when I saw 100% after saving!
I remember these days, I used to watch and play this game when I was in my last year at school and when I went to college. Good times! Shame it's just a game but anyone can dream.
@revelationss you have to get a certain percent of the game finished. I think its at least 75% completion, so you have to do as many sidequests as you can and open every treasure you find. If you get under 75% you get the sad end, but if you get 100% completion then you get a bonus cutscene where tidus and yuna go to zanarkand ruins together. Hope this helped :)
This ending made playing through the game worth it. But I still was waiting to find out that Payne was Aurons long lost daughter. She looked so much like him.
i remember playing this game when i was like, ten. when i watched this scene, all i could think was, "so tidus was sleeping in the water the entire game?" but man, i love the story.
@falkaire the ending in zanarkand is for players who put the hours into the game and got 100%, it shows Tidus and Yuna decide to stay together no matter what. And honestly I've never watched the sad ending because I wanted Yuna to get her love back, I got the best endings after 50 hours of effort.
@Djsz1 Tidus was brought back at the end of the game, when the faith asks yuna if she wants to see him again and you reply yes. The faith used yuna's love for tidus to bring him back after all the stuff she has done for others, yuna deserves to be with tidus.
@MrDuckyProduccions Wakka: Hey, get a room, you two. Wakka: [everyone cheers] Whassup? Tidus: Who asked you to watch Wakka? Rikku: Hiyya! Tidus: [laughs and takes Yuna's hand; they run towards the island together] Tidus: [Yuna starts running faster] Huh? Hey, whoa! You know, you've changed.
Every time you hear people complaining about how this FF and that FF have changed too much, it's because they've forgotten that scenes like these are the real reason we love Final Fantasy.
@JonathanSilveira1978 The percentage to get the good ending doesn't matter. After defeating shuyin, the Fayth will ask you if you want to see Tidus again or not. Choose 'Yes' and that is how you will get the good ending.
@RiiukihX93 We know. The producers messed up by having Tidus's name be editable. They made sure not to repeat that mistake in the future titles. But you do get to actually hear his name get spoken in the Dissidias.
He says it's his story because it's his responsibility to take down his own father. Because of that you know HE'S the protagonist. If he wasn't there Yuna would have just died and the cycle would have gone on. It's an odd metaphor, but when you understand it you see that all it means is that he's determined to accomplish his goals. And the love story in X was probably one of the best becuse the characters actually had depth, unlike XIII where it's just told to us, but we never see why.
Tidus was a dream of the Faith, something like that. When Sin was destroyed the faith could rest and stop dreaming thus Tidus not existing. I believe he was real from Zanarkand 1000 years ago though? Him and his father Auron etc.? Sin is some kind of wormhole??? The faith was the little boy that Tidus kept seeing throughout FFX. I guess he decided to dream some more as a favor to Yuna. Thus bringing him back after the events of X-2. Hope that helped. Time for me to play it again and remember it.
@TheLalaPenguin like i said it kinda looks like they are at 2:36 - 2:38 and besidesl Wakka says: "Hey get a room you two! Wazzup?" "Who asked you to watch Wakka?" Love it when they say that!
If u ask me, FFX-2 is about how much would you fight, despite your confusion and suffering, to get the one you love dearly. FFX is: brought to reality, and you can end the world's suffering at a cost: your life. But also, Tidus and the group sacrificed their lives to protect the thousands of others in the rest of Spira, but only one life was sacrificed: Tidus.
