I always thought the same. Tbh with a prequel you'll be repeating the same jouney. I'd still play it but I think it should be added like the eternal calm and last mission
@@KingpenGames Absolutely. Jecht was an ass, but at least he paid attention to Tidus and even thought about him quite often. Tidus's mother was just flat-out neglectful, only cared about Jecht. Hell, when Jecht asked Auron to look after Tidus, I'm gonna guess that Jecht suspected that Tidus's mother was gonna be even more neglectful with believing Jecht being dead and just give up on life.
Never thought about that. Sent Auron all the way to Zanarkand because he knew how she was lol. Also, Jecht was an ass but I get what he was trying to do. He saw that Tidus cried alot but at the same time knew Tidus wanted to be a star like him. He wanted to toughen him up, and it at least somewhat worked. Tidus hated him so much he did anything to beat him. Next thing you know, Tidus saves the world.
Always loved the story of these three. Braska's wise and noble determination, Auron's protective yet pessimistic nature, and Jecht's carefree and brash demeanor. Made for some great moments, also made me love Jecht as a character the most.
Braska’s sphere telling Yuna he will love, support, and be proud of whatever she does with her life and future she shapes for herself…that’s one of the most touching things I’ve ever seen, my eyes are watery.
Jecht is a great example of a character who is a total asshole but he’s not actually a “bad guy”. These scenes show him as someone who sacrificed himself honorably.
I never really thought he was an asshole, just misunderstood. He taught his son with tough love and that son became a star blitzer who eventually saved the entire world. Through the story Tidus also realizes that he loves his father and resents his neglecting mother. Jecht made mistakes and he accepted them and never once stopped thinking about his son to the moment of death. He was a great man
Regardless of Jecht’s intentions, the impact he had on Tidus and his mother definitively make Jecht a “bad guy”. The fact that the relationship between Jecht and Tidus was left in the state it was says a lot. Plus, Jecht definitely had the aura of trying to make up for it..
Young Auron is so funny lol. Also it's a shame the Jecht Spheres were optional. They really showed that he loved his family and that he always had them on his mind. You can tell it broke his heart when he realized he couldn't go back.
Facts. But I think making them optional is good in a way. If you saw them along the way, I think what is believed about Jecht changes too soon. But once Tidus talked about him parents at the farplane, it showed that his mom was actually the issue anyways
I think making them optional is genius, The first time you can really backtrack IS after Spherimorph (which is when the jecht spheres become available anyway), you can go all the way back to Besaid after Spherimorph to grab all the Jecht spheres so you get Auron's final limit break at the end of MT Gagazet, I think the story works really well even if you don't, but you get quite a few optional cutscenes if you do. My only gripe with the way they did this is that you have to fight Dark Valefor if you don't backtrack after spherimorph, which sucks, but at that point you're prolly abandoning Auron anyway since he sucks in post game.
Auron and Kinoc talking about Auron's return becomes sad when you realize that Kinoc might find out about the Final Summoning before the next time he saw Auron. Had Braska not picked up Jecht, Auron would've died and become Sin. Hell, after he was let in on the conspiracy, Kinoc might have thought Auron *was* Sin, since he didn't know about Jecht being chosen, at least if Rin didn't tell people Auron died.
I dont believe Kinoc would've known about it. Maybe he would've but I feel like the other Maesters couldn't trust him at all and left him out of alot of information. That's just head canon though
15:05 - I like that this seems to be the only point where Braska is audibly shook. He was willing to sacrifice himself the entire time, but as soon as he found out one of his friends had to die as well, that's when he started to waver.
Yea, I think he also started to waver in Mt Gagazet too in the Braska sphere. The way he shook his head, seemed like he would die with the regret of leaving Yuna alone
I loved Jecht. He had an alcohol problem and that needed to be stopped. He did love his son and tried to be a dad that wanted his kid to be strong. Tough love is hard but it is good for people.
@@KingpenGames Yeah, I never got that impression, to be honest, but he could be considered emotionally abusive based on Tidus' memory. Yet, I take the memory sequences with a grain of salt but kids usually think their parents are cruel if they have a "tell it like it is" and and gruff personality like Jecht. I probably have a similar parenting style as Jecht, minus the alcohol. I want my kid to be tough enough to handle the world without them breaking down like toddlers. I want to be believe that Jecht wanted Tidus to be better than him at blitzball by using reverse psychology on Tidus (the "ya can't do it" taunt) to prove he could. I think he'd be impressed with Tidus if he saw him do the Jecht Shot.
@@KingpenGames I think he tried to be distant sometimes so Tidus could have his mom and playing the way he did meant he had to practice a lot and do a lot of games. I couldn't imagine being the child of a celebrity. Plus, Tidus and Jecht are on different wavelengths. He tried, bless him.
but all of their sacrifice led to eternal calm. Without Jecht becoming Sin and Auron being unsent, they both figured out how to go to dream zanarkand and figure out how to beat Sin for good
@@LakersCP3 Jecht is the real hero of the FFX setting. He was the one who convinced the faith, Braska and Auron to go along with his plan to end the spiral of death.
I agree. Jecht also gave up his dream of going home by killing sin and telling Auron to be the one to go to Zanarkand to raise Tidus and get him to one day beat sin.
Yojimbo Zanmato got me thru. Theres a save before the dark aeon in besaid. Grand Summon Yojimbo and HOPE he uses Zanmato when you pay him, if not then reload the save. Took me 6 tries before he knod his head. Paid him 1337 for fun.
Another way to get that one besides Zanmato is to immediately go all the way back to Besaid right after you get the first Jecht sphere. Huge pain in the ass, but it works.
As long as you don't do the events at Macalania and are willing to walk all the way back to Besaid after beating Spherimorph you can get the Jecht Sphere without fighting Dark Valefor and all of the other spheres along the way as well. I can confirm it because I did this during my last playthough
Man that first sphere hits hard. To think that perhaps Auron could have had the opportunity to become a Maester but undoubtedly would have been horrified with yevon's corruption.

Maybe Square will do a FFX Remaster with the same bad quality as they did FFVII but this time with auron's daughter in the game somehow. If you purchased the combo for PC, there's a audio novel after FFX's ending where Auron's Daughter goes back to besaid to talk to Yuna about Yevonites or some other issue going on where they have a surprise, that right there could be a potential game story.
@@KingpenGames the remaster's quality that is bad. FFVII was great, ahead of its time for what the console had in hardware power. But the new remaster which they took a very long time developing to deliver only the first disc to the players is a slap in the face. Terrible quality.
@@KingpenGames Except the first part lasts as long as the original game and expands on the story greatly, people who say that FF7 Remake part 1 isn't a full game just don't know what they're talking about
