I would move on from the piano maybe? Once you start replacing strings, hammers, pins etc... It's not your piano anymore, it's not the beast you fell in love with. The tone is different, the feel is different and the connection you have with it is different. It might end up being a good thing, but it could be bad. You don't get to 'test drive' how the piano will feel and sound before you've paid for all of that work to be done. The safer option is to sell up and look into buying something more stable and to your taste that you can actually play before hand... one way or the other, you're too skilled a player to not be playing something you absolutely love. But I mean, realistically for us viewers it just sounds like the Yamaha just needs tuning... But if there's a whole heap of problems with it under the surface, I'd consider moving on!

@@MageSutek well I do like the law and am definitely finishing my bachelor! I just love music so much more and I’ll keep that in my mind while actively trying to make that a bigger part of my life.

Yeah 1:28 ouch, it does need some tuning, good call. Otherwise masterful as always, love the FFX soundtrack.

Multiple things could be considered... 1. need to keep in mind that the acoustics picked up by his mic set up don't exactly pick up what you would hear in person... 2. If it sounds sharp at the top end that's because it is "supposed to be that way" as tuning is a compromise between natural harmonics and equal temperament. Feel free to look it up as there are many books and papers dedicated to the subject alone. In my imagination it is like trying to represent the round earth on a flat map. The high notes you hear are Greenland. If one must be critical than its more of a sound engineering problem than an instrument needing tuning problem. All he needs to do is become a professional sound engineer so his stuff sounds as good as what we are used to hearing from other professional sound engineers.

Don t all pianos sound metallic ? That s the essence of this instrument, metal strings struck by felt hammers. METAL strings, what do you expect ? Also that s part of yamaha's sound identity, some may or may bot like it, but if they are such a big industry, that can only mean one thing. Some people do appreciate this singularity. Just enjoy the music mate 😌
