When it first came out I was like: OH HELL NO WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?! SUMMONS ARE ORGANIC BEINGS NOT SOMETHING LIKE TRANSFORMER SHIT. Then I was ok with it after sometime. Though the story how they got them still sucks and kinda forced.

Summons were pretty strong in this game, they gave your party a full res and full healed as well. It's too bad that after you used all their gestalt the stagger meter restarts at 0 afterwards
I wish I had my own Eidolon. I'd have Leviathan turn into a freakin' surfboard that gushes out water!! Whooosh~! But that's what fanfictions are for x3

Lou Jam I'm actually doing a stats and moveset for Leviathan. And I'm having a friend design it when I have the chance too. Its gonna be like a surfboard with a wind-sail to keep balance. He would have the moves [Water Rush], which is a pulsing charge forward. [Aqua Pulse] which is a kickflip with water jetting out to attack enemies from front and back. [Torpedo Rise] which is a somersault attack upfront and [Raging Waves] which stomps the ground and makes waves attack around Leviathan. And his Lv 3 tech is Tsunami, which is a large pillar of water being sliced down from the top to rave on all the enemies and flood the battlefield.
I thought Hope's summons attacks looked REALLY neat, but man they just didn't do crap for damage. Personally, it seemed like Vanille and Fang's summons did the most damage
He becomes one of the most emotionally stable characters at the end of the game. The earlier bits of emo he has are the typical stage all teenagers go through when they are put under pressure XD
@@lumberluc and also very weak he used to be the ultimate summon of ff3-5 now there is always an exclusive summon in ff thats stronger than him like knights of the round and anima
Bogyman the dark I kinda like the exclusive summons, bahamut is almost in every ff game, summoning bahamut,shiva and ifrit is like beating a dead horse at this point
I love fangs I currently have to fight sazhs but I love how hopes is named alexander while everyone else had a complicated name of some sorts except for snow and lightning
I'd say Lightning, Vanille and Fang's gestalt mode summon are the best due to attack homing in on enemies. Poor Alexander's gestalt mode's first attack is super terrible, 100% miss rate hahaha
+fLux _ and I miss when final fantasy games were actually fun to play 13 was a disappointment 14 is an mmorpg (need I say more) I hope 15 is at least half way decent trailers look awesome but I'm not expecting much
I went with Lightning, Fang and Vanille, controlling Lightning as a Ravager most of the time, occasionally switching to Fang. Oddly, controlling Vanille seems to draw way too much aggro and the monsters constantly interrupted my casting :/ On my first playthrough, I played Lightning, Vanille and Hope and it was a surprisingly powerful team... however, I can't bring myself to use Snow and Sazh, they just feel too weak.
Wall with cannons and makes large ass explosions. I think that's pretty damn good, especially how hard he was to get. Besides, did anyone expect Hope to get something as big as Alexander?
Gawd this game was a nightmare grind. I couldn't get past Hope's Eidolon battle before becoming too ill to play anymore. Yup you read right: the game made me PHYSICALLY ILL!
Seeing these scenes is really beautiful and all, but the moment I saw these summons become horses, walls, motorcycles and shit like that, I lost it. Not to mention these summons are so useless damage-wise that you're better off without them.
Totally agree with you! In fact, I wished Squaresoft never ceased to exist... I LOVE FFIV remake and the After Years for example. Also the oldest Final Fantasy series up to VII. I loved IX too and VIII a tad less but still good. In fact the very moment when it became Square Enix things aren't really that what "Final Fantasy" truly stands for. A tale of LOVE, COMPASSION and EMPATHY fired up with beautiful music (which became a lot less good as well). I wish these old days can come back. I want a story again with true meaning , not some Transformer like action based killing game.

12aSHE you're kinda right they dont do a lot of damage but Lightning's summon Odin ( my fav summon) can make the enemy stagger quickly which gives us the opportunity to lower our enemies health.
You know you don't need to leave at least one Gestalt point right? If you use Thunderfall (4) with only 2 points left it will still leave a point to perform the big one.
So now you summon a transformer, a bike, a plane a castle, I almost expected to see optimus prime. Miss the old kick ass summons and miss the old Final Fantasy from SquareSoft.
Fav character is Vanillie by far but favorite Aeon (i know their Eidolons) but Aeon just sounds more right to me.... fave Eidolon is Lightning's Odin followed by Shiva sister's who are in tie with Bahamut
Square, what the hell is this?? Final Fantasy or Transformer?? What happen to the Summons?? Odin is ride the horse, not the horse itself! Shiva is a twin and become a Motorcycle?? And why the hell Bahamut become a Megatron??? Just WHY??? :'(
When I go Commando, I always pick Fang (she's the strongest) or Lightning (I just love that girl). Blitz is pretty awesome, but I don't want to spam it all the time (feels cheap), and Sazh's other attack animations are painfully long :/ Besides, his stats are the worst in the game (around 1/2 of the other characters'), I guess that's why I always pick Vanille or Lightning as Ravagers. And I even made Lightning and Fang into awesome Synergists when going gets tough :D
If Sora got an eidolon, it should be Fenrir. Think about it, it's robot mode could look like Cloud and it's Gestalt mode could be a big wolf with the sword as a tail. eh eh

My favorites are the Shiva Sisters and Odin since IMO it's an out-of-the-box idea for Snow to have a twin summon instead of the usual single summon and they combine into a cool motorcycle. Odin is one of the more aggressive summons and he randomly spurts roses all around lol. And Hecatoncheir's final attack is so explosive it made Vanille came IYKWIM :P
Look at the amazingly beautiful summons which then transform into the weirdest shit with the lamest attacks with a finisher that is just a flash of light like wtf developers what is this?

so, what's your team? i play: snow/fang/light com/com/rav rav/sab/rav com/sen/med played the whole chapter 11 and did untill mission 28 with this formation
Or that one time that Vanille and Sazh were in the Vile Peaks and Vanille was climbing a ledge, and Sazh looked at the wrong moment and almost saw her vajayjay. But the the Chocobo Chick was like: Nope. and essentialy attacked Sazh's face.
I really hate the vanille eidolon cause he was the hardest to beat. but in the dog machine gun or whatever is really cool and the fang eidolon is really good too shame square enix did not make those toys only the odin and the shivas twins
