I loved this ending most of all, they all were fighting to be together and they finally get to the point where they can be done fighting and just live life.
Funny how I came back to this and noticed something. This whole adventure is one giant train ride. It began around when Lightning boarded the Purge train, and ended with her leaving one that existed in a brand new world that she was at the forefront of creating in the end.
Finally decided to finish this game. it really gave me chills when snow. sahz, mog and serah apperared in the final cutscene. reminded me with all the good days from the other 13 games
ALL THREE GAMES WERE NECESSARY. There were three parts to three stories/questions: 1. Why is the world fucked up? 2. Nothing is 'cookie cutter' about different types of relationships. 3. Why is Lightning such a bitch? (Or in this case, a female Cloud) *And all three were answered.* *1. * Because it was made by one douche god who abandoned his god-babies (falcie), who in turn abused their playthings (humans) for attention. The 1st game figured it out. The 2nd tried to fix it. The 3rd said "FUCK IT lets make a new world instead, and leave douche god out of it" *2. * All three games introduced you to different kinds of relationships (not just romantic) and showed you its ok if theyre problematic. Nothing and no one is perfect. *3rd. * Lightning is a bitch (or female Cloud) because her parents died when she was a kid, and she tried to (metaphorically) get rid of her heart; so she could be strong. Its a form of psychological disorder that is VERY REAL and MANY people have because of having to grow up too soon. Boop
No matter what. i will always be a fan of Final Fantasy. and even though not everyome agrees with hiw it ended. i believe its more of the message they were trying to give out that was more important. in those final moments no god can control the human spirit. we are given our own way to percieve things to how they are. we may be flawed. we may fear. but those who we surround ourselves with. thise who we meet. thats what matters. we have a soul. we have our own chaos. we aren't empty husks to be used as like puppets. We are the ones who can forge our fates with our own hands and create a path to tomorrow. the bonds we share are what links our souls together and makes us stronger so that we may Hope for a better future.
To me, XIII had one of the best stories in the series, XIII-2 was fun as hell to play, and LR has the best combat system... And all 3 games have amazing soundtracks. While this trilogy has some problems (like every game out there) I still love them, and watching this ending makes me want to start them again.
That's why I spent almost $120 buying all of the soundtrack for the 13 trilogy. I've been listening to it for the last month and a half. It is fucking amazing
The 13 series is underrated. Those graphics when she's on the train and then gets off the train.. man, it looks REAL. It kinda looks like France actually.
1:03:22 The sign says "gare" which means "station" in French. You can also read "Blanc-Chateau" at 1:04:06. Yes this is definitely France. Considering also how the planet looks exactly like Earth, I think there's little doubt that basically what this game is telling us is that all the events of FFXIII are what happened before our world was created. Nietzsche was right, God is dead, and now we know who killed him.
XIII-2 and Lightning Returns, is so depressing. I loved the story and characters to the first XIII. The fal'Cie Eden is the best! She stepped in on ocassion to correct political gaffes. Eden was like the kindest and most feminine fal'Cie.
I read an epilogue of the FFXIII ending.. where a war correspondent name Aoede is interviewing some people who were called crazy because they have the memory of 'the old world' in modern world about gods and fal'cie stuff... in this epilogue there was mention of Lightning and the rest of the characters. Episode 1 - After humanity's journey to the new world, people were reincarnated with some holding dormant memories of their previous lives. A reporter searches for the truth behind the latent memories using shared remembrances between people who have never met, and keywords-such as "fal'Cie", "Cocoon", "Gran Pulse" and "Bhunivelze". She traces a researcher named Hope Estheim to interview him. The epilogue had 10 episodes or Parts where the last episodes directly transitioned into the XIII Lightning Return ending (where Aoede finally found Lightning and interviewed her in the train before she gets of at another train station and we get to see the ending as the video above. These are the episodes of the epilogue: Hope Estheim Sazh Katzroy Get Back Serah Farron Snow Villiers Noel Kreiss & Paddra Nsu-Yeul Oerba Dia Vanille & Oerba Yun Fang Hope Estheim Breathless Passenger (this episode is the final one where Aoede finally stumbles across Lightning in a train as she travels to mediate two factions involved in civil war) The epilogue novel touched a lot on the greed of human, as Caius explains the new world is what Aoede and the rest of humanity decide it to be. Meaning, whatever happens humans still opt to options that will bring forth war and demise. But the ending felt nice as Aoede noted that Lightning looked carefree and decided to not tell the world about the 'old world before reincarnation'.
My heart is crying when I see Serah call Lightning and Noel calling Yuel ! *Fangirl mode* So, the ending, all heroes are reincarnated into new planet, Earth, but all reborn into different countries ~ Best ending, Lightning's smile ! Thanks for finishing this game, admin !
Such a tearful goodbye in the end of the world scene. A new world but without the Eidelons and Mog, especially. I would have like to see Noel and Lightning also say their goodbye to Mog in addition to Serah. :)
funniest shit, I told my brother about lightning returns ending(the after credit), so he pushed through and played the game he dropped 2 years ago, so he was like"you sure theres that train thing?" and I kept telling its on YT. After the credits it didnt show, turns our u needed to do some tasks to get the secret ending. XDDDD
Celesz Adami my guess is lightning probably is living a happy normal life now in the universe of final fantasy xv but she is he only person to remember the events of the 13 trilogy
The tale of XIII is so incredibly grand it is a bit hard to comprehend; it is a unique experience of course, something to remember with. If there will ever be Lightning Returns, Again... that will be awesome, although I understand it will be quite a shift toward different kind of game.
Just saw this video, the whole 1 hour and 4 minutes of it. Wow... I’ve played XIII and XIII-2. But not Lightning Returns. I have never seen the ending and man, what feeling I was experiencing. Such emotion! I’m going to miss Lightning. But happy to see her smile and going on her next new journey. ❤️😭 thank you for the video BTW.
Bunivelze+ is always a pain in the ass. I can't even remember if I ever beat him, but I remember raging on him a few times back in the day. You got to work that stagger meter over like your life depended on it, and use up a ton of EP to reset your AP bars if needed.
Sohtak yes, cuz how else does the journalist know who to interview. That or they vaguely remember names and only 9 people or 10 if count caius know truth
it would be so cool if they do a 4th game but in this new world where they do a more realistic theme, lightning is such a wasted character on bad stories
Oh so they've chosen the Wolf's Rain ending. Except there was no absolute slaughter of each and every main character. Wew lad, I don't think I could watch another one of those.
Why did Noel summon Brynhildr, that's supposed to be Sazh's summon. They could have had him another summon, like Fenrir or Ramuh, but nope had to be Brynhildr.
The secret ending looks like they would live on Earth, but thats an illusion. Maybe Bhunivelze made his own Earth in his universe, but he finishes it just before he gets defeated by Lightning. Which would mean, life startet with them travelling to the new world. And that would mean, Earth is only some decades old now. So it has to be an alternate Earth. I kinda like this pov.
Ok. I know that this new world is basically our earth but with all that energy someone would think that this is kinda the origin of the lifestream of FFVII, you know just saying.
am....am i the only one who thought the 'about to be reborn souls' looked a lot like the lifestream??? from ff7 i mean. come to think of it, wouldnt THAT be a good starting of a fic?
True, i know mind this is creator game final fantasy. My country is crocodile maybe my country is criminal and like my friends. That is my country mind. I know mind my country
It took 3 games to bring the convoluted story to a purpose and finality. If they had combined the important aspects of all three into one game with a competent story XIII would be so much better. Even with it's flaws it has more of a Final Fantasy arc than XV and its swiss cheese puzzle pieces for pay to complete its ongoing "complete" story.
You have no idea what you're talking about. At all. The story wasn't convoluted in the least of you paid even a little attention. Each game was a necessary step to its current state. Mashing all lore and world building and development in one game is a stupid idea.
@@gabs207 thats not entirely correct. In XIII, this is definately a sibling-like relationship. After that, Hope is actually an adult, and in lightning returns, it is very strongly implied Hope has feelings for her, especially in japanese (wich is really not surprising). Nothing is confirmed on lightnings side. However, Lightning returns seem to subtly pair them (not nescessarly romantically, but as each other's most important relationship) at every turn.
