Actually stella was going to have the exact same plot as luna, hardly seen and dying early on. Also luna was not a damsel in distress considering she went through many lengths on her own and didn't need anyone saving her
Okay but that scene with Regis holding Noctis in the rain was so perfect, why did they leave it out?? It would've tugged at more heartstrings if more people could better see the love Regis has for his son, and the anguish and despair in his eyes because he knows that his one and only son is the Chosen King and has to give his own life to save the world from darkness. That one scene hit so hard just now.
subject18blueknight It would have had a greater impact on the player as they would understand the decisions he was forced to make. I liked FFXv but it had so much potential, cheers for the story dlc they're adding this year
Sure, that is the case. But we are dealing with Gods too, and a Crystal that has a complex about who it chooses. I mean, how would normal people know exactly what happened 2000 years ago?
I kind of hope they make an entire "episode", like the character dlc, focused around Insomnia before the invasion. I want to be able to explore Insomnia as Noctis, but as a child, then they could include all the scenes with father/son moments. I always loved the scene where they are eating soup and Regis makes Noct laugh, I don't know why, but I was sad when it didn't make it in the game as a flashback.
They did kinda, it's in the Omen Trailer. Omen basically shows you the IF Noctis went on the trip alone. The whole vid is like a vision that the Gods gave to Regis and Luna. Last part of the Video you'll see Regis "mourning"
Hopefully as then Nomura finally gets to create versus 13 like he wanted I mean he's gonna have to throw in some Disney bullshit but other than that he could probably do it.
Costume for what? They should make this game real man, they need to create these version. Why do you need noctis costume? Noctis in these version are really cool such bad ass..
Yu Yap first of all the so called old costume was nothing more than a placeholder until Roen finished the real deal the only Costume they should add is the Black Suit he wears in the Final Fight the suit is in the game so goddamn give it us (im reffering to the one he wears at the party while talking with stella ... back in that versus days)
Still Crying over the loss of an dark, epic, tragic Story where Maybe noctis only gets to realize at the very end that he worked for the dark Side the whole Time without ever Knowing (and thats Why Stella had to Fight him). And also "Eyes that See the lights of Exploring souls" This Game Could have been Pretty much on the same Level as FFVII 😭😭😭
Me too brother me too. I know it is sort of being revived in kingdom hearts, but problem is I don't play Kingdom hearts so I would just be so lost if I got it just for that
imagine if either one of the two games got the full development run. Both would've become masterpieces if given the time to, you know, actually become a game
This version of Noctis exist, in the Kingdom Hearts 3 ReMind DLC but as a new character with a different name. Watch the Kingdom Hearts 3 ReMind Good secret ending. Then you will see that versus 13 has not died yet.
@@saixenophase I was sad that no one REALLY talked about him apart from small mentions from the glaives towards the end of the game. Not even Luna. He deserved a bit more homage 😟
This breaks my heart too much seeing all this golden stuff just being cut out of the game. Like its just resting in peace and this video is its grave. Among the other early trailers. Now seeing this is almost depressing, yet marvelous. I still like FF15, but I do wonder about this. :(
fabul0u519 especially the scene where Noctis is embracing his father. They need to add that scene back in as a flashback or something. Well, here's to 2017 and the new cut scenes to be added this year! Technically, FF XV is still being developed. That's why their updates are so huge. day 1 patch, Patch 1.01, and Crown Update. It's 15 + gigs in updates. The holiday patch was only 3 gigs. I would like this scene added in a future patch. It still could naturally fit in the story to see the father son embracing scene.
Derek Mckean Yeah, definitely could use some character development scenes. Or character motivation scenes. Just a bit more story and it should be okay. Those patches will hopefully add that.
fabul0u519 It had a great opening scene. But as a viewer, it's natural to ask who in the world is Noctis and why should we care. Insomnia falls -- well, whoppdie do. The opening scene should have the empirial ships approaching insomnia with the radio telling what's going on, followed by the scene where Noctis and his pals are sent out. That would have been a much stronger beginning in my opinion.
Derek Mckean I remember there being scenes like that in trailers. Where the Empire ships were creeping in on Insomnia. So many questionable changes. :{
They should have at least kept the scene in the original 2006 trailer. That's the scene that started the hype. One of the things I was so excited for was to see noct kick ass in even better cgi. And all the recent stuff from like 13:46... noct screaming about the airships, Regis holding kid noct, Luna's abused scenes, all of that. It would have just added to the story.
RIGHT! The problem with Final Fantasy XV is that it doesn't feel whole. If anything it's a piece from a bigger story. These parts would've AT LEAST given context to players about what is going on if they haven't seen both the movie and the anime.
A lot of the scenes don't even connect well. Is like they kinda just chunk in different pieces together just to make the story mode can last 20 hours. Especially the kingsglaive clips n omen clips, they just feel so weird n doesn't feel right.
Well the "Luna's abuse scene" was cut off because when the trailer was shone, some people commented on tabata's tweeter that it was too brutal or it held some kind of darkness, kids shouldn't have, and guess what happened, because people complain too much, and he likes to hear what fans like , he cut it off! Thanks to those brats, we ended up unsatisfied! 😫
They should have a Final Fantasy game with the protagonist having a romantic relationship with the antagonist. Which is why I was so hyped with Versus XIII, I thought it seemed that way.
took me about 5-6 hours to finish the story no joke what a disgrace this game became it had so much potential, its so bad i would not even look at it as officially part of the final fantasy franchise just a terribly botched side project,Final fantasy 15 the Final Fantasy game that never was
mausalus09 I think he's talking about the whole games story not just the last few chapters but whatever sadly it was rushed hopefully future updates add more to the last chapters
It seems like there was supposed to be a much bigger emphasis on the relationship with Noctis and his Dad --- which makes it really sad to me that we really only get one scene with the two of them together in the game. FFXV really seems like it WANTS me to care about Regis and his death, but I feel like a lot of what could have made him stand out as a character and as an important figure in Noctis's life was cut. We as players are really forced to read between the lines to understand their relationship --- and I think it would have been more effective if we'd seen a little more of them together before his death.
Real good point on Regis, I had to put my own head-cannon together and research wikis and reddit to piece together the whys and ifs and whethers based on the few vibes the game left us with concerning him. We had one scene with Regis in the beginning, and one at the end. Neither of which said enough. FFXV wanted us to care about any number of things: the fall of the Crown City (and why it was so important to try to reclaim it), Luna and what could-have-been, Noct's fate, Iggy's daring-do consequence. All of that fell empty and dissatisfying. Incredibly sad, but left a rather empty sort of sad, instead of something deeper and more impactful. Left most people scratching their heads. I love FFXV anyways but it is so incredibly frustrating. There was simply way too much missing. It was chopped and diced up with the littlest of gracefulness.
@@orimotoizumi I think FFXV's issue is that it focused on the bromance roadtrip aspect to the detriment of its story and supporting cast. You can tell the creators put a lot of time and energy into making the bond between the four main guys feel believable. It's the strongest part of the game imo. But literally EVERYTHING else, from the Empire to Ardyn to the fall of Insomnia to Noct's relationship with Lunafreya, was sidelined. And the game is so obsessed with only showing us Noctis's perspective of things that we don't even get to character development for his friends outside the DLCs. There was so much wasted potential in FFXV and it's a shame.
@@supremeoverlorde2109 You're so right. Even Noctis' perspective required a lot of reading in between the lines, knowing a lot of context, and watching his expressions and reactions in important cutscenes. The guy doesn't say much - comparatively, I would have liked Noct to have a little internal monologue, like Tidus to see a little more inside his psyche. There was also some tonal whiplash with his bros even though serious things were going on. Noct's dad dies and like 10 seconds later, they're back to joking around - back to regular gameplay kind of thing. Then, 10 years pass and they hardly had anything to say to each other. For relationship building, they should be talking a whole lot more about the world's recent events and how they felt about it. The roadtrip worked for a good long time, but it no longer helped and felt broke after the events of Altissia.
@@orimotoizumi Yep! 100% agree. I have a lot of love for FFXV, but the story execution leaves a lot to be desired and there's so much wasted potential.
@@rachelscientia7228 I'd rather both, im all for friends but his romance with Luna was pathetic and needed more or shouldn't have been implemented at all
Cpn. Beartato Personally, I feel like this kind of story didn’t need romance. Kinda wish they cut that out completely. The romance was lacking but I personally think Noctis wasn’t in love with Luna
Looking back on this, I love how much of a no-nonsense badass Noctis seems to be here. In FFXV he didnt really become like that until post-timeskip. Hopefully we'll get to see more of the FFvsXIII portrayal of him in Yozora
Still can't believe how the game actually plays like a pre-rendered cutscene. Yeah the beginning was cut down, but they delivered a game that actually lives up to the trailers in every other respect. That's amazing.
Versus 13 Noct was basically just a general final fantasy serious and stoic hero (not hating on my bois Cloud, Squall, or Vincent ) But the addition of nerd and westernization made his character more believable with him struggling to come to terms with his duty and destiny as future king
It kinda bothers me that the main characters' attire actually matches up with the more gothic mood that the world of Versus XIII had in general but they keep that aesthetic for the final game in spite of it not really fitting the mood of the game overall. That contrast makes them stand out as excessively edgy and makes the whole thing look kinda goofy instead
They are wearing the fashion of high-class Citizens of Insomnia. Royalty always wears the national color, which is black. It’s only silly when they are trying to blend in imo.
Black is just the colour the royal family of Lucis wear. The characters don't wear goth at all. Prompto is traditional punk, Gladio is akin to bikers, Ignis is very prim and proper with a clear cut suit, and Noctis is industrial punk.
This shaped to be such an epic story! No wonder Nomura was pissed they completely butchered his baby. I really hope that he can make Varum Rex happen so we can see this story in all it's glory.
Hack Nomura spent more time making concept trailers than actually creating a game. It was a money pit. No wonder SE said enough, made it FF15 and gave it to someone competent. It says a lot when KH3’s Re:Mind DLC has old callbacks to Versus 13 and nothing new. Nomura had no clue what he wanted to do with the story.
@@earlyriser03 Nomura spent time making the story he really wanted, impatient people like you are the reason why everything was canned and rushed, hopefully now with KH4/Verum Rex we can get the ultimate story we’ve all been waiting for
@@ghstcffee7717 But that’s not how games work. Consumers don’t decide anything except when the final product is released. Then they vote with their wallets. Face it: Nomura took way too long to finalize anything with Versus and SE and its investors grew impatient. So he was removed and a more competent and focused director was tapped to finish it, Nomura’s “ultimate story” be damned. If you think SE is going to let him stray too far from the FF7 Remake universe mines for some unfocused non-game he’s been brewing in his head since 2006, then you’re playing yourself.
@@earlyriser03 Yeah and competent and focused director who made some half assed story that made no sense and was clearly not cared for after the 6th chapter, maybe it’s cool now to release uncared for games but i like my stories to brew and show it clearly has someone behind it who’s putting his all, SE should be letting him make the game he wants unless that want another FF 15
@@ghstcffee7717 what you’re refusing to accept is that FF Versus 13 was already a mess before it even became FF15. What do you expect from someone who was placed into the director role of someone else’s passion project that they were removed from? It’s clear Nomura was busy with KH3, FF7R, and likely didn’t want to fully reveal all of his so-called “ultimate story” so the new director and team worked with what they had. If you want to blame anyone, blame Nomura for letting you down. Even then, I can’t fully fault him. It’s SE that didn’t know how to rein him in at that time and let him do whatever he wanted. It’s clear they hold him more accountable now, especially when more competent directors like YoshiP exist.
I actually would've cared more for the story if some of these more powerful scenes from early XV was included in the final product. Let alone at least made Insomnia more crucial to the early story have it be an actual hub city first then make the capital kingdom inaccessible for the reminder of the game.
I'm happy with the game as it released. But you're right. Insomnia needed more screentime at the beginning. Even letting us drive away with hints of the invasion in the sky, and the car breaks down.
If only Square let Nomura finish what he started, instead of handing it off to someone who didn't have a complete grasp of his concept. I really can't blame Tabata for this, I'm sure he tried.
christian h It doesn't always mean that "we know the concept". It is based on the experience of both directors. We can't deny that Nomura is more experienced than Tabata especially from the different works that both have provided. So when you see that Tabata's work had many problems and plot holes and compare it to Nomura's previous works, you could ASSUME that MAYBE Nomura's work could have been better. We all know that no one has ever tried Versus XIII except for the team but there is a difference between "it is better" and "it could have been better". He is not implying or confirming by any chance unlike many different comments out there
I hope this game gets the Justice League Snyder Cut treatment. What I mean by this is that if enough people ask for it, Square Enix gives Nomura the ability to go back and finish the project the way he wanted to. It will just be Noctis' true story route. I personally prefer the darker tone when Noctis and Stella both seemed ready to do battle with one another. I'd take Stella over Luna any day.
Honestly Luna could've been just as good as Stella if they just bothered to have given her some actual screen time. Her whole role in XV was literally "look Noct I'm in love with you. So I am waking gods up to help you out, now that I done that part it's time to go buy some milk"
Final Fantasy Versus XIII really raised the bar but the finished game lowered it. This is the reason why many could not still get over the 2006 version. Expectations were very high.
@@kurikuraconkuritas no but the potential it had was very concerning that everyone wished it would have been finished. Heck even FFXV itself was obviously has cut content and if only it was fully realized the game would have been better than what we had.
@@solonocphoenix sadly, Main games cant be Dark because of censorship in countries (this is Square´s policy). The reason why FF V XIII had dark atmosphere was because it was going to be a spin off.
It saddens me that we never got to see what Versus 13 would have been... But filled with joy because... "I've been having these weird thoughts lately... Like is any of this for real, or not?" "None of this makes any sense to me..."
ReNegade•SpeCter True, and that’s because all Final Fantasy’s up to this point have been strictly Japanese based. XV borrowed multiple aspects from different cultures that gives it a completely different feel
@@rachelscientia7228 sorry thats just wrong. FFXII is heavily inspired by middle eastern/morrocan architecture while FFX uses south east asia as basis. FF6 - FF10 were very cyberpunk.
YESSS!!! Exactly what I was thinking watching this video!!! Versus was screaming "Final Fantasy" meanwhile FF15 was just a disappointment that left me pissed off, annoyed and beyond disappointed.
ffxv taking 10 years to develop shows that the management at square Enix needs to be reworked . Tetsuya is overworked, they need to hire more people or let newer talent move up and take over development of some games.
they weren't developing it for 10 years... when it changed from versus XIII to XV, they started from scratch... so, the XV is NOT 10 years old (in development yaers), it's like... I duno, 3? (5 tops)
Arin Jäger look i get this ,but the fact the concept started by a overworked Tetsuya got to the point it was worked over more than a street hooker is due to poor management decisions. p.s. everyone already knows what's happened with this over the last 10 years ,I'm not trying to argue over some stupid shit like that . I get it it wasn't "really " in development till Tabata took over.
Anthony Tosh it's dumb, I got that... bunch of bad decisions were made, poor judgment was at play... and they're "drunk with power", they're basically beating a dead horse, now... it just has the name, but it's not it, anymore... I know, you meant the decade wait, nobody's arguing, don't worry :)
Exactly, Nomura is being way overworked, look at Kingdom Hearts 3. The reason there is little to any info on it is because the guy was working on multiple games at once. While he was working on Versus XIII, he worked on Type-0, handheld kingdom hearts games, XIII trilogy, Word of Final Fantasy, A FF arcade game, and the FFVII remake. He obviously isn't giving his 100% not because he's lazy but because he physically can't be at 10 places at once.
It makes me tear up to see what XV could of been. Not saying XV was bad at all. but personally, i would have much more perfered how Versus Xlll was looking to turn out.
The more i watch these deleted scenes i realize that this game could've been 100x better, and would probably be one of the best games ever made. I loved FFXV but when i looked at the trailer after (i do that sometimes), I saw that the devs had so much plans for it but they didn't make it. And then i looked at the deleted scenes and whatnot.. Man i wish this game is completed with a fully developed atmosphere :/
I've been having these weird thoughts lately. Like is any of this for real, or not? None of this...makes sense to me... An oath to return, kingdom hearts
Yea agreed, idk how as generations go on final fantasy games dont expand. i was shocked at how small ffxv is in comparison to any ff. Good game of course but definitely didn't meet my standards overall
Wouldnt returning to insomnia have meant so much more if there was like... 2 hours of exposition? If they just showed a day in the life along with flashbacks of Noctis being a kid tge beginning and end would mean so much more.
Those last few scenes make me seethe. That was the background storytelling and emotional moments we lacked for the game. True I had feels when I finished the story but the feels would have been more feely if they'd have had those. Watching baby Noctis being held is just ... wow.
@JadedQuincy I laugh at that, man. I really do, I'm not saying that your comment is wrong, but I can't agree with it. I simply can't. How is KH a bad storyline? EXCLUDING the Disney aspects of it? (Okay. Some Disney did make it good, but I do agree that it wasn't the greates either)
@@HarryBillyBobGeorge it honestly looks like it changed for the worse though...and dont get me started on the story after it went linear. It was so terrible. There were so many flaws because they decided to change and mislead so many things and people
Yo Boi MTB what's good about it? The side quests are mostly boring fetch quests that can be found in an mmos like go there kill 5 monsters the mini games are few and boring compared to previous games the story is an absolute mess, you can remove 9 chapter from game and it won't even matter graphics are good but if you see the far mountains views are lile Nintendo 64 texutres gameplay is broken you can spam 1 move to beat the strongest bosses with alot of potions, you basically never die the secret boss was a total let down, just press the same buttons for 1 hour without any strategy the ost had very few good tracks maybe like 5 or 6 story bosses barely exist in this game i can go on forever about the downsides the only good side is the 4 characters campingand chilling and that ending, but what is a good ending without a build up to it?
I can’t help the feeling that this project was dragged, kicking and screaming from an interesting story about the nuisances of the light and dark, love compromised by duty and the invasion of industrialism into a land of magic to a rather generic story of prince-hood, ‘the power of light’ and gods that pre-ordain the story.
this game had the potential to be THE BEST FINAL FANTASY EVER MADE!! everything in the trailers delivered a strong and deep feeling that we were in front of somthing huge, epic, and dramatic. an story with Shakespeare influences adult and dark topics. an amazing characters designs...but we only had an avarage game with a totally forgetable plot, so sad
The real problem is they cut some really important parts of the story, and sold it as a god damn movie and dlcs. If you do get the whole story, I would say it's one of the best FF games ever made. Ardyn is an amazing villain (bonus points for his English voice actor who also made him sound awesome), and the fact that we don't get a happy ending was a really brave decision.
Dalibor Arestizabal imo xv is todo on its own but I wouldn’t mind another final fantasy with this story and different characters or remake versus 13 as its own vanilla game. Even though the regalia looked way cooler in terms of design in versus 13 it looked like
Remember these are only trailers and even don't tell you what the story or characters are really like. People thought kh3 would be the best kh game, (myself included) but that was far from the truth. Another great example of never to believe trailers is Anthem.
@@LPrussia07 Same for the 13 reveal. Their teams were unexperienced with 7th Gen consoles but still tried to be on top of their visuals game. All they cared about was making things look good. Square really was pulling some BS in the early 2010's.
Some people say Hajime Tabata only have 3 years since he took over project from Tetsuya Nomura who was original working on FFXIII versus. due to so many project he was working on he couldn't finished it. that why Tabata and his team took over. have change so much from the story :/
Ohh Versus XIII Back when this game was just a fantasy based on the Fabula nova Crystalis and reality ahh good times. seriously why would they cut out so many game footage not to include in the game even as viewable cutscenes when are we getting (Final Fantasy XV Directors Cut ) as DLC mabye? No?
Monado Boy they cut the scenes because they didn't go with the new story. Versus was supposed to start you in insomnia as it was getting attacked and you kill stella in the beginning of the game so of course they cut that.
It was supposed to be another trilogy like 13 so i doubt they had much created beyond that. But besides that they wanted to distance the game as far away from 13 as possible like they did with type-0. After killing stella, noctis completely forgets about her and those scenes you see with the party and them together are just flashbacks. That wouldn't work in 15 since luna was still alive in chapter 1 And l'cie don't exist in that world.
It'd be dope if they released all the old cutscenes they have been making and a walkthrough of what they had before they changed it into FFXV or removed it from the final game. The same for concept art.
Someone said that Nomura made so much work into the story that it could turn into a trilogy or a saga. They could still do that, name it final fantasy nocturnes or whatever the fuck and make it into its own saga. Hell they could even drop the final fantasy name and let it become its own thing like KH. The premise was so good that's why I think so many of us can't let it go.
They would have to change the characters since they were used in FFXV, but that would be interesting (especially that title, Final Fantasy Nocturnes). In fact, why not make this concept its own IP; simply call it Nocturnes?
Yeah, they would need to change the characters but that might be a good thing too, more creativity from nomura. Also Nocturnes does sound good doesnt it lol ;P
Actually the game was only "Planned" to be made into a saga of sorts that also supposedly connects to ff13 and type-0 at first as they were all connected under the same lore and gods. The story itself actually took its first major turn around 2006 that highly differs to how it first seen in 2005.The story later changed once more around 2010 then changed again around 2013
ZeroHxC07 i reckon they could make a versus 15 with what they was originally going to do in an attempt of noctis trying to change the past to stop insomnia from falling and losing luna and everyone and everytning
@@OnaSoto it wasnt because of that . They didn't let him make versus 13 because there was worshipping of the goddess etro (being the goddess of death) thus being that China doesn't like that so that is why they changed it. Not because nomura wasn't capable
@ I know his heart broke because he's been speaking a lot about the things he regrets, Verum Rex shows us how much potential everything Versus could've been if it were to come to light 100%. Nomura has such a creative mind and I love it but I dislike how so much of his ideas along with the team behind this original work had to be scrapped when they had so much done. I feel bad for them, but at least there still is some charm.
k but then there'd be no reason for Fab Floral Print Dad Ardyn. It's natural for stories to change as they develop. An ancient king who absorbed demons and gave his life only to be exiled is a lot more interesting to me than another Romeo and Juliet thing.
@@HarryBillyBobGeorge Not really interesting. The emotional impact of fighting the one you love, possibly kill her too is much more than fighting that laid-back ancient king. And Adryn is just too boring for me. Given all experience and years of living, he still behaved like a drunken old man in the neighborhood. Also, in FFXIII versus, it's likely that we are not on the righteous side.
@@HarryBillyBobGeorge back in production of 13 Versus the vibe was never a Romeo Juliet story but rather Shakespears Hamlet vibe. Alot of things were adding up to it being a futuristic adaptation of Hamlet and Stella being more of a complicated antagonist than a love interest. The original story had so much potential, dont get me wrong Im not bashing 15 I enjoyed it too, but I feel Nomuras original vision would have been far more interesting.
FFXV is like if FFVII was made and all of shinra was cut and everything/everyone related to it, you start the game after the motorcycle scene, Tifa and Barret are your only PCs, Aeris only showed up in the city of ancients, Cloud was perfectly fine the whole game with no internal problems with who he was. Cid randomly shows up to help for random battles after you meet him and nothing interesting happens, everyone's backstory is cut, you only see sephiroth five times before the end of the game.
I'd say all of that is exactly how I feel about the game's story, apart from the Sephiroth/Ardyn thing. The only thing I wanted for Ardyn was for them to address with how screwed over he was and how obnoxious some of the past kings were, before defeating him. Apart from that, it's basically a chopped up FFVII plot. Also adding in that people like Rufus, or Hojo were killed offscreen.
yeah, they could do a better job with the story-wise. Game-play was good, but it still lacks a bit... It feels like FF15 overall was just a proto-type test for the new generation of games Square-Enix will be making in the future?
FF Versus XIII Noctis gave off a distinct Jin Kazama (Tekken) vibe whereas FFXV Noctis gave more casual/lazy vibe. Not saying one is better than the other, just pointing out the difference in their mannerisms.
Dia Nuevo I have seen the anime (short but somewhat good), haven't seen the Movie yet, but is still unforgiving that you spend more time with the side mission than the actual main mission of the story.
Dia Nuevo lol how can you fixed the story? With DLC of promto, gladious and igniz? You know umbra should be a playable character (ninja), youll never see it in ff xv..
michail gunawan they are fixing it through free game updates. and they already gave some free dlc on Christmas day, which show that that they are will to give and update more stuff for free and aside a season pass.
Listen I loved FFXV in fact it’s my favorite game of all time especially with the patches and DLCs. However m, that doesn’t mean I’m not down for the idea of Versus XIII happening. In fact I want it to happen so make it happen Square.
Now when I look at Noctis, I feel like this outfit that was used in the beginning was more badass. Shit that could've been a good addition to one of the DLC packs! His AND the other guys' (Gladio, Prompto and Ignis) And maybe the Regalia too?
OK. I do love FFXV, but VERSUS XIII is simply taking my breath away and I like the badass character design here more... and I want my STELLA baby... I wish after Nomaru's finished Kingdom hearts, they let him make FFXV the alternative universe and do this VERSUS XIII version. This is just way too incredible to be forgotten :(
Good ideas are cut from every production. With a dev cycle 4x longer than most games, naturally a lot was cut. We still have a huge 100-hour game that plays exactly like the first trailer promised.
16:09 such a powerful scene when you take into account Regis knowing Noctis's fate, from the moment he was born. You can see the love he feels for his son, and the pure agony from knowing their isn't anything he can do to save him. We can only imagine the heartbreak it must have watching Noctis grew up, and get ever closer to his destiny. Also 14:52 would have been so cool if they'd kept it for right in the beginning a few missions after the movies story, or in the linear second half.
Someone pointed out the alt ending for Episode Ignis. Iggy managed to save Noct. And it turns out it was pretty easy to do so. Regis and Luna had YEARS to figure something else out. Ignis had weeks. Ignis made a last ditch call. And it worked. Regis and Luna knee but didn't try to change anything because "fate"
Anthony Morse True, at least it looks more real than Prompto's current look that feels like those Korean bands that dye their hair on a way that doesn't fit whatsoever.
where tf do you think those scenes were a part of? They were scenes and gameplay that was to be part of the game. Use your brain and think reeeaaaaly hard about the fact that there must have been content in game that led to the scenes and events that have been deleted.

@1lukeT: I doubt he's very fond of it. He is still a little bitter from when Square kicked him out of the project just so he could take on FFVII:Remake instead.
Who cares what he thinks? He's the one who fucked everything up in the first place and was practically never going to release the damn game. If he's upset, he'll probably just go jerk off to Lightning (again) to feel better.
***** Your comment is a summary of all the ignorant spewing about that I'm tired of reading on the Internet. If you honestly think the situation of Versus XIII's development was as simple as, "Oh, it's Nomura's fault because clearly he just didn't work on the game" then you are completely ignorant of not only the situation of this project, but the entire game industry as a whole.
C4DNerd No, it's not entirely Nomura's fault, but he is a large part of the problem. You're either lying to yourself or equally as ignorant as you are accusing me of being if you think otherwise. But since you apparently know so much, enlighten me. How is he not a big part of the problem? How is his utter lack of direction and issues with managing resources not at least partially to blame? As I said, he is not entirely at fault since there are a lot of issues to take into account, but he is _absolutely not_ innocent in the matter.
Hmm. After playing 150 hours of the game and realizing the game is halfway complete, has an incredibly empty world, and a lackluster battle system, i would say Tabata is more of an issue. That wasnt even scratching the surface of the amount of bullshit this game delivers on. Sure the game is finished. But it barely resembles the original product and is a polished turd.
Please Nomura, make sure the story of Yozora is exactly as this trailer shown... Maybe with a touch of Kingdom Hearts. And let us play a new main Protagonist.
nah ffxv is a great game, and if versus xiii actually happened i think it would also be a good game, despite whatever people say. and i think people will always complain about something, they dont appreciate what they have
Why say that? People expected a story-heavy, dark themed game with shakespeare inspiration, and we got a 25h long game with 1h of cutscenes and very light themes of ideal friendship I dont hear people complaining about kingdom hearts because we always get what we are promised to, better quality or worse, here, versus XIII became a completely different game that vagely followed versus, and after all this stuff was shown, people expected to see this in any form, but they didnt, as more than half of the cast doesnt show up in the story or show just to die low key and the story became really humble and sincere, which was NOT how the game was marketed as. People who never waited for versus will find a great game that has a surprisingly heartful story based in little, humble moments with big meaning, but who waited for versus, we still got our mouth wet, we just didnt get anything from versus besides character desing and the warp strike maybe?
FemOr llarina FemOr llarina lol i was looking for some videos about versus 13 and saw my comment from a year ago, looking at things right now, its still true that people will always complain but yeah you're right i think versus 13's story would've been much heavier and deeper than xv it's sad that we didn't get to experience it.
And i don't know if it's only me but i find versus 13's environment and the places we saw in the trailer to actually be better than xv's, they really sat the tone for that kind of dark plot
i miss the old prompto design, muscle-jacked noctis, stella and mafia vibe. i wanted to see the noctis vs stella boss fight. i hate square enix i hate this world.
@@gdragonismygod Honestly the story and game is fine but shit at same time. If the gameplay was like kingdom hearts it would have been a way better game all u gotta do is hold the b button spam healing items and u win. I prefer edgy noctis btw. ;)
I always laugh when people talk about Versus XIII story being better than XV, it as if they somehow played an unreleased version of Versus XIII and deemed it godlike lol
I really cant say if the story was supposed to be better or not and personally I really like the story of FFXV but I am really disappointed that they deleted all the scenes I was looking forward to...so for me its not the same game anymore, especially not the game I was hyped for. like: if I would have bought FFXV without knowing that Versus XIII existed I would have totally enjoyed it (since I had no expectations or ideas of this game) but since I was thinking to get the scenes I was shown in the trailers I was totally down since they werent even there...hope you know what I mean.
Chris Deebo it's all just hindsight bias, happens all the time with tonnes of games. I love the atmosphere of these clips myself, but they're essentially from an entirely different game, how can you reasonably compare them?
gtafan110010 That's completely wrong. You could get an incomplete FFversus13 just like FFXV. XV had a pretty good story, but really bad storytelling. To know if V13 would be better, you should've been on the development team.
CSPlayerDamon Yeah, there are many, MANY developer statements out there and they have basically laid out the entire story of versus 13 mate. 15 did not have a good story at all. FF15 had a decent main cast in a horribly told and written story, because it's an amalgamation of the original vision and changes made by the new director. It's been made public that Nomura had trouble making a concrete vision and that the team was demotivated, hence why vs13 took so long, but that troubled vision was far enough into development to have a more complete and coherent story than FF15. FF15 just grabbed as much of vs13 as possible and made changes according to Tabeta's interpretation, many of them last minute. Not to mention the content that was cut because they were afraid of SJW's, leaving an end product that really cannot be called a coherent story. Ardyn's motivations never made sense, nor did they cover his 'reveal' of his real name. Noctis suddenly landing on a prison island for 10 years, with a boat there that shouldn't be there, Gladio running away, they removed Vesteal entirely even though he got marketed the shit out of, oh and he's Prompto's father, that too. But nope, just throw it out. Iedolas got cut last minute and turned into a dumb demon, Noctis has basically no personality left because of player choices in conversation, Cor's role got cut almost entirely and Areana's choice to leave the empire is never elaborated on or explained. She just does it. Other than the main cast and Ardyn, zero of the characters got to fullfil the role originally written for them. FF15 IS a frankenstein game, a bunch of loose pieces put together in order to meet a deadline. Troublesome though vs13 was, undeniably, it's story was more coherent and consistent than FF15 could ever hope to be. That much is proven.
