just started ffxiv. i didnt realize how massive the community for this game still is. much bigger than classic WoW. everyone i have ran into so far has been super helpful. im on trial but after seeing this i am definitely buying full version
It's overwhelming me too lolol. I am loving what I have played but I am confused on some stuff. I am figuring out more by the day though so hopefully that'll continue for both of us.
I'm kinda there as well, just messing around leveling stuff up to like 11ish and completing the hunting logs and might start working on professions next
there is no rush, enjoy the content at your pace. learn the game at your pace. you'll have a better time this way. i knew about ffxiv when it released but only started playing it last month for the first time. i've played a few mmo's in the past and i got to say that the game is really quite enjoyable. it's a very comfortable game to play, a absolutely massive game with a ton of variety and options. i've found the community to be very welcoming and pleasant which really surprised me. overall i would rate my free trial experience a strong 8.5 to light 9.0
Never knew they removed the time limit on the free trial. I remember when playing on console ipon first release and it lasted for a while i think. 15 days or a month. Can't wait to get back into it again.
It’s now 2024, this game has come to Xbox on beta and I’d figured I’d give it a try because I never get to play games like this (I don’t have a PC) and now that I’m playing it I don’t know how I’ll ever STOP playing it…. I’m literally addicted to this game bruh I’m a grown man and I’m addicted.. so sad 😭😭😭
Thanks for this video i just went ahead and bought the game and endwalker as it was on discount. I must say this game looks absolutely amazing I'm in Awe just watching the vid I'm sure I'm going to sink many hundreds of hours into this game!
There's a free trial that allows you to play with no playtime restrictions. There are restrictions in other areas, but you can experience most of the story for free
@@punani_slayer4209 that’s just how mmos are it will take you like 100 hours to get out of the free trail and if you don’t like you’ll have dropped it way before then
@@punani_slayer4209 Are you a beggar that wants everything for free? That is the point. You think the game industry business is charity? They give you this much content without limit play time but you are still not satisfied enough, then just go away to play some garbage F2P MMO behind P2WIN out there as much as you want.
I am just starting and it is SOOOOO overwhelming... I am going to stick with it though and eventually I'll have a grasp of it all. I really like what I have played so far, and the first dungeon I played with randoms online was a blast.
I'm going to try trial until there is a nice sale on Endwalker during 4th of July. The only thing that has been holding me back on trying FFXIV is the old looking graphics and weird harsh lighting in the game (I hope that changes for the better). I miss playing a MMORPG where I can socialize online and have fun.
The hardest part of this game for me was navigation! Figuring out how to get to quest locations and going between different points was really difficult for me. I did figure it out though I beat the main game and made it to the first expansion but then I had a hard time finding a party to play quest dungeons and the game dose not give me a party so I fell off the game. So I made a new character and I'm back to square 1 having a hard time figuring out how to navigate the map again 😅
I had the same issue playing this game, I played as some kind of warrior class & gave up on this game after a while. I might try it again in the future on a free trial so I can get used to the game first
It is for new players, although if you have never played a Final Fantasy or an MMO it takes time to get into. This game has one of the best intros for MMO's I've seen, if you follow the instructions step by step (and use the keyboard and mouse instead of the controller which is very very confusing), and play regularly you'll quickly master the mechanics of most MMO's. And with the story and the superb world, it's really worth it ! So yeah, it is a commitment to learn the mechanics, but it's probably the best content you'll get ^^
Started 2 days ago. Yesterday got lvl 22. Then a friend told me i'm on a wrong world (free trial, i don't wanna pay 15 bucks to hop over to his world). Started today AGAIN 😊 and did everything in half of the time. It's not that tricky for beginners. And it's my first FF.
I played 14 at launch as well as shortly after ARR launched and they never clicked with me so I quit before my free trial even ended. I’ve never been interested in MMOs or really any kind of social games but I am a massive fan of Final Fantasy so I’ve always been determined to make myself like it and experience the story. I’m downloading it on PS4 right now and I’m going to try it one more time and see how it goes.
@@avedude767 it went well. I was having fun with it, but I also purchased Elden Ring about a week after I started XIV so I’ve put about 100 hours into that instead. I’m going to return to it whenever I get burnt out on Elden Ring.
I think after the season ends on d4, I'll play this game until next season starts up. I've already played a lot of d4 loyally & seen the game go from bad to pretty darn interesting but what I like about this game is that it has a free trial.
im struggling to get into this game. only level 10, but combat is just slow and not very interesting to me yet. i want to play for the story, hyped for FF16, but reading all the text is boring and i feel like its not engaging me.
I learned....nothing of the essentials I expected. How do attacks work, defense, status effects, combat mechanics in general ; what should I keep an eye our for as I explore the world in the early levels, what kind of loot is there, what should I save, what can I just sell, etc etc. But yeah, now I know there is something about classes and jobs that I'm sure I will remember as the game won't tell me about it ......
Depends on the currency but I believe its around £7.50 a month. I'd reccomend not buying the game until using the free trial though as the free trial has no time limit
wish you wouldve said something about fakking queues to login..ridiculous, made 3 characters just to find an empty world and in the end game kicks me out because i'm trial account, wat a waste of time
I just came back after 3 years and I’m lost on all the controls. I’ve forgotten pretty much everything and I played all the way through stormblood. Kinda sucks to forget the basic controls and learning to play all over again but looking forward to it. I just logged in today
Very late to the party but been a huge ff fan. 8 is the best even though 7 brought me truly in to the series even though i had played the o.g.s. I'm genuinely thinking about diving into this game. Has really drawn me in and i find it so interesting. Moved to the city a couple years ago and finally got wifi so this may be a reall mmorpg option.
Final Fantasy 8 is my favorite game as well. I was completely behind when it came to console gaming for years. I finally bought a ps5 and I just started this game here. I am sooo lost. LOL
There is a free trial that gets you up to level 60 and thrown the game and first expansion. It's hundreds of hours of free gameplay. I'm going to give that a go at my own pace then if I really do get into it I'll subscribe then.
I've tried and failed countless times to get into FFXIV but since I bought a Steam Deck recently, i'm trying again (it works surprisingly well on the system after a few control tweaks). MMO's aren't really my thing, dungeons & raids etc look way too overwhelming and difficult to keep track of and I don't think I could ever naturally get used to having dozens of abilities mapped to various areas, memorise all of them and use them at a moments notice, it's all a little too much for me haha. But I really like the idea of the connected worlds MMO's offer and it isn't something offered by most traditional RPG's that I do enjoy, so i'm trying to play XIV in a more casual sense. I'll play through the main story quests & partake in side activities that're more casual rather than delving deep into combat mechanics, it's just hard to not feel overwhelmed each time I log in, there's so much to know and do!
This helped exactly 0%. I've been playing for two nights, about 6 hours total now and I am more lost than when I started. I feel like the only thing I've been able to figure out is how to accept a quest, how to turn one in, and how to open the map, and maybe a few other simple things here and there. Somehow I've made it to level 12 while still having level 5 quests in my log. Just fought the first boss, some big tree, and I won't lie i had no idea what in the world I was trying to do as far as targeting goes. About 8 other mobs showed up and hammered us while I tried to run around and target and attack them, but it was just chaos. The only reason I beat it was because the two NPC's finished it off. The amount of menus in this game is atrocious and I am constantly pressing the wrong button and bringing up the wrong thing and then having to figure out how to get out of it, only to realize I actually needed to be where I was, it's beyond confusing. And lastly, I cannot seem to figure out anything regarding fast travel. There's these little crystals in town that let you travel to other little crystals in town, but these little crystals are never near anywhere useful in being where you want to go. Then in the world map there's, uhm bigger crystals that do the same thing, but cost money? Huh? Let's not even get started on a menu those things bring up... maybe it's cause I am so new, but nothing is clicking or giving me that aha moment. I've played plenty of MMO's before, but this one is way too difficult for someone new to the game.
Hi! I started 4 days ago and I was also really confused at first but I think I could help since I kinda got the hang of it now. We should play together!
I mean is it just me or is buying a game and then having to pay a subscription fee just to play it kinda dumb? Like the game looks fun but if I genuinely have to buy it and then also pay every month just to play it that seems so overkill
I'm beginning to hate FF14. It stops me playing every few minutes to remind me of something I've already done. I think it's stupid. And the combat is less than robust.
Well firstly - try change roles and after it - classes. For some melee feels much more engaging, for some range casters, for some range physical damage dealers, and for some - tanks. Secondly - game gets better as you go futher, but you will not see any drastic improvment until heavensward. Stormblood improves a bit, and shadowbringers to endwalker are most fun and engaging out of all content available. Altough some of the coolest shit is hidden behind side content you can easily miss. Thirdly - The game isn't for everyone. As simple as that. But if you go into if with a mindset that you will not like it, than chances of you liking it are almost zero. So, if you trying it with that mindset, you probably losing time. Better to just go and play something else.
