Good lord, so many people bitching like they were expecting entirely new models, they're noticeably different...

The character deisgn improvements are just right, I really hope more for an bigger enviroment upgrade. Better grass, bushes und Trees, better lighting, shaders and all this stuff

The chins and ears no longer being jagged due to the higher polycount of the faces while keeping the same style is the best way they could have chosen. It still looks recognizably "like FF14" but no longer antiquated. The higher textures on the Au Ra scales are an important upgrade though

hair resolution and texture improvements are fantastic. But in my opinion the real game changer is the eye gloss and the shadows and skin textures. They make the characters look so much more alive.

I think the fact that it’s on the minimalist side is just right. The point was to keep the general aesthetic of the game and not screw up people’s image of their existing characters. I do think something looks a bit odd about the new viera nose though.

The standout thing to me is that the lighting looks a bit more like a modern FF game now. The textures are important, but the way that lights interact with the character can make or break a graphical style. And as a mainly fem ra player, I'm pleased. Maybe we'll be able to separate the horn and face shape in 9.0 😅

Honestly, the winners of this graphical update are the Elezen. The glow up they received is actually insane (Male Miqote and Fem Aura are actually almost there too)

I was looking at their clothes more, noticeable texture update on gear and it looks great. not as pixelated.

These are not big changes, but holy frick I'm so excited for the two dye channels. So many pieces of armor I had initially wanted for a glam set, I had to put away because the accent color was just not meshing well with the rest of the glam, it has a chance to be used now! So excited to play around with it.

People commenting about how it’s nothing drastic are already missing the point stated months ago.

Dang, the Au Ra scales look like a part of their body instead of it looking like they were tatooed on them. In my opinion they got the biggest touch ups on them. Especially the FemRas. Might actually fantasia to one once we get that free fantasia.

GW2 let you paint equipments by 3 to 5 dyes each part. Characters and equips remastered textures looks nice and i hope they improve scenary textures and illumination :D

Bunny's nose doesn't look like bunny's anymore, I hope they change that back

Seems like they added little bit depth to the hairs, that would be so cool if they could add also body hair

Two dye channels is definitely nice, opens up a lot of customization options for sure.

These look great but I really feel that they need to keep the deeper shadows of the face as it adds more character to the models and allows for a more distinct feel.

Now update Elezen animations and I can actually see people playing them!

Need to see the torso to see if Catbois finally have visible muscle definition.

Can't wait. I spent a good deal of time to make my Miqo'te look adorable and he'll look amazing come dawntrail.
