He knew the destiny that would befall to his son all along. Still would have been nice to see more scenes like this in the game. They would've made the ending more powerful. Edit: Even more powerful
None of us knew what this trailer meant, but then we finished the game.....my word I can’t stop crying just thinking about. Regis’s pain, his tears, he knows what Noctis has to do❤️
Fahad Alajmi we learn a few things from the movie that help alleviate some of the things in the trailer, most notably we can assume the identity of the 3 figures towards the end of the trailer, they are either weapons, like the diamond weapon in Kingsglaive (most likely) or they are the old kings of Lucis, judging the new king. the trailer still has a air of mystery regarding the "tragedy" to befall Noctis. The movie also tells us why Luna is being held captive and how Insomnia falls.
Watching this trailer after finishing the game, with the same music that plays when Noctis summons the kings of Lucis just makes it more emotional. It would have been perfect in the game as a flashback before he summons the kings or to explain even better why his father refuses to follow the other kings' actions at the end. A beautiful trailer for a beautiful game.
Since when were Final fantasy fans so ungrateful? If this game has even a fraction the emotion and performance we saw in this trailer this could be the best FF in Decades.
This trailer revealed alot, it showed me that FFXV still has that tragic emotional bonds that FF Versus did. From what im seeing and what tabata is saying its looking to be the best FF in Decades.
Noctis Pendragon How so? What aspects of this trailer point to the "best FF ever"? Of course, it is your right to opinion, but I do not see any particularly impressive emotion in this trailer that I have not seen in other games. Final Fantasy Type-0's opening scene comes to mind, and I think many would agree on that scene being very emotional. The trailer consisted of Luna being possibly attacked by someone; what was inherently amazing about that scene? We saw a dog walking through a street; what is it that sets this above past Final Fantasy games? The trailer ends with an exhaustively long scene of a man holding Noctis as a child and shedding a single tear; what about this scene points to the game being the "best FF in decades"?
feel the same. farewell my king and nyx. i really wish i can main nyx as main character in XV but notcis)sasuke is plain strong by the power of OP main.
Does anyone think that the story was told poorly? I watched the trailers from all these three years (since it became FFXV) and lots of things that were shown there (cutscenes) never made it to the game. So I feel like there are things missing in the story... I expected more about Noctis and his father's relationship and more about Luna, it went too fast in my opinion 😭
It would have been so nice to have *this* somewhere in the game. To remember this scene, while seeing Regis look away as his son's getting impaled. Shame for those who didn't watch, or remember this trailer prior to the ending.
They are also Noctis’s and Regis’s ancestors. It looks like they mourn for Noctis just as much as Regis does, after the calling given to Noctis by Bahamut and by the other Astrals.
WrenchNinja and development of the game we see now began development in 2012. I dont see what your point is. May have been announced at that time ago but youre forgetting all the project restarts and team shifting. Itll be ready when its ready
WrenchNinja The concept was announced 9 years ago, actual full-scale development never started until 2012 - this game is in development for 3 years the way it is now.
His father knows what lies ahead of him. Knows that he can't always be there for his son and that one day 'he' will bare the same burden as his father. Heavy is the head that wears the crown.
Before watching Kingsglaive: Wtf with this trailer dominated by dad embracing son? After watching Kingsglaive: NOOOOOO... MAKE THEM TOGETHER AGAIN TT__TT
@@macybautista1301 The DLCs are really great. It's just doesn't come full circle since the REAL ENDING gets stuck in a novel instead of the last 3 DLCs that (unfortunately) cancelled.
Everytime I watch this trailer a tear streams down my face with a feel of warmth and comfort and concern also responsibility with the duty I have to my son and how strong I have to be for him... Just makes me remember how much I had to fight for him and reminds me of every single moment I said to him how much I love him for the good and for the bad... Remembers me the things I am capable of for him, bleed for him cry for him suffer for him, because he is my life my everything... I love you Angelo, my son, my blood, my soul, my spirit, my life, my reason to live...
Viewing the trailers again among the Anime episodes and the game has the emotional impact that I love from the story. I am grateful that Square Enix created this story, despite the numerous changes and now deleted content. To know the sad fate of your only child has to be onerous for the soul to hold on to, and Regis expressed that here and in Kingsglaive. Hypothetically, how many parents would respond knowing what will happen to your child, your bloodline and your home; so to Regis ability he tried all he could to help Noctis before the prophecy came to be fulfilled. I have not felt this immerse in a game's story and characters since Final Fantasy X or VII, with me feeling immense sympathy for the character's journey and difficult decisions made by each individual. If only the cutscenes and the new content was available in one complete set is my only complaint.
This one is actually one of the best trailers there is. I cant explain the emotion i'm feeling when I see this one, even though the game was not perfect it still managed to make me emotional and that's all that matters in the end. Perfect or not it will always hold a special place in my heart!
After watching the movie & beating the game its even more clearer that this is the best FF trailer ever made because there is so much meaning behind it.
I don't care what other people think or say about FF XV. I'm deeply in love with this game since I play the demo, and I will wait for the game to be released in 2016. I'll wait Prince Noctis, Ignis, Prompto and Gladio patiently! Then I'll give them tons of love when the game is released!! :3
i dont know whats in and whats out of the game. But this trailer is the last trailer that really grabbed me emotionally. i hope its a sign of things weve been left in the dark for and for good reason.
The story will probably span ten years. The main character(Noctis ) will have to 'grow up' and 'mature' facing a destiny he did not want. His father(Regis) knows what is ahead of Noctis , but all Regis can do is hold him not as a King but as a Father for he knows its a hard path to walk. Heavy is the head that wears the crown.
KamXO This is only a teaser, they are doing a bigger presentation of the game today at gamescom. You can watch it live on TwitchTV in like 8 hours from now.
FF's strength is in the story, gameplay trailers are necessary but story is important as well. Also gameplay are most likely changing day by day for the improvements. They post a lot of gameplay now though.
Mimi Mokarran Come to think about it, the game had Tidus practically throughout the game explaining over and over that Sin was Jecht so there wasn't really a: "Got you! He's still alive!" moment cause that was completely obvious any-way and was completely pointless to the game's story which in turn bogged it down with Tidus's pathetic, repetitive ramblings on the subject matter...
NeoXSora Er yes he does, the game constantly reminds you who Sin is and after hearing it two times, it kinda got annoying and pointless. Then again the writing in my opinion had more problems than just Tidus having everything repeated to him or having Tidus repeat every-thing to the player... It's a complete incomprehensible mess.
If only Noctis knew. He could have said goodbye or at least been kinder to his father during their last moments together. XV knows how to give you depression.
User5C13nc5 lmao don't worry you'll be saying the same thing when the remake releases its 2nd trailer after the announcement of FF XVI 8 years from now.
It's not that people forgot, it's just that there really isn't much to cover on 15 anymore, whereas with the 7 remake magazines can do whatever they want like write articles on what people should expect, things that could he changed etc., with 15 we already know what to expect for the most part thanks to the duscae demo.
Asc Kurosaki Well it got less coverage around the internet than FFVIIR, for one. And the people I often talk to are more excited to talk about FFVIIR than XV for two. It's like XV is there just to wait for the main dish that is VIIR
The art direction this game took is so interesting to me. The game has a midieval feel to it. The dad looks like a knight, but theres this modern car next to him. Even the design of the car has a medieval feel. HIs pose, the umbralla looks/could be a sword. I really like this mix ;)
i can't explain it, but this trailer gave me the chills the music, the sad face of the father and then the scene with the 3 colossal creatures in the background
It was revealed that most of the Luna cutscenes were cut due to the SJW rampage going on about Luna's character and Square didn't want the controversial scenes in the final game (and most of her story scenes were controversial if this opening clip of her as a child was any indication)
+C4DNerd they ended up cutting so much I wanna cry. I just want to see FF quality cutscene on a next gen console and there are only 3 scenes. Game still great though, just need more cutscenes
Oh gods, poor Luna, I watched Kingsglaive and felt so much pity for her, and now this trailer :'( Haven't got the game yet, luckly it arrives next week)
+gandalFFantasy Medhus well we don't know how dark or cruel the original would actually have been...but i think its safe to assume 15 will be a pretty dark game, probably more towards the middle and end then beginning
It better be it hadso many great people working on it and the change in directer just meantit was too perfect and Nomura had to make Kingdom Hearts III just as perfect so they had to change, but nomura is still the concept character designer and as such it is still a Nomura game with Yoko on the music.
this has become one of my top 3 favourite FFs. It's so sad this scene was cut out in the final game. Does anyone know the reason why so many scenes previously shown in trailers were cut out? Some say it's due to too little space on the disc, but that can't be the reason, can it?
Well, whatever reason they have to explain, I think there is one thing they did well that amazed me enough. When playing Final Fantasy XV, all I can feel is Noctis, and Noctis alone. We can only play as him, and we know his whole story only in the game. If you look closer, the Universe of FFXV is very.... "vast". Kingsglaive focused on the fall of Insomnia, Brotherhood focused on the bros, Then, the Dawn trailer tells the emotion of his father, The Omen, etc. And if you think about it, in these events, Noctis barely did nothing. He only slept, gone away, uh...whining, and did little stuffs. While his focus is all in the main game. Yes we are surrounded by the environment, by the bros, by Luna, by the Archaeans, but in the end, it is Noctis himself that we are playing. I'm being Noctis, I'm role-playing. But sadly.... well, a lot of imperfections is all I can say for the rest of the story.
sy20vip It's still a very good game, it just feels very incomplete story-wise. Especially the fall of Insomnia and the capital city of Niflheim turning into a place full of deamons, that should've been in the game at least. I have at least 10 questions about the story. I'm sad that every single(!) cutscene from Versus-days was cut out, and even scenes from 2014 and 2015 didn't make it into the final game. Also areas and boss fights were cut. In my head, I had already imagined a story of my own with those trailers, so I was kinda shocked when I finished it and realised that those scenes were cut out. It's just my little Versus-heart and a lot of nostalgic feelings from me, nothing more^^"
Rewatch the beggining of this trailer again. If Square was going in the direction they hinted at concerning Luna then it's not wonder they withheld those scenes. They would've been eaten alive. The other scenes? Who knows.
There's a rumour that Luna may get a DLC episode. So perhaps they could elaborate on her past there? I'm personally hoping they do, because to portray that side of her, after her perhaps lacklustre appearance in the game, would be groundbreaking for me.
Watching this trailer after having finished the game... Man... The feels... Regis´s face it´s just heartbreaking to look at. Imagine to have to raise your son knowing he is going to end up fulfilling such a cruel destiny.
I would say I am so glad they decided to never stop making the series I see it in so many ways I couldn't be more happier with how it turned out over the years with so many a trully amazing game into Dawn.
seriously i don't know what the F they are doing, important scene like this cut out, and the Luna scene in the beginning. those two characters barely got any screen time at all.
I hear they could've just put it on another disc...you know like previous Final Fantasy's.. OR OR now this may sound crazy but i hear in these modern times...you can download it and have it on your console hard drive...
Jef Drouin Reading the context of the situation, the main moment in the trailer felt very profound, it was a powerful scene showing the deep bond between a father and his son. Hefty stuff, sorry you couldn't feel anything.
Kyle Brown Really wasn't. Without context or any real character or even, you know, actual interaction, it is little more than Square screaming CRY, DAMMIT! LOOK GUYS, THERE'S TEARS! THIS IS A SAD SCENE SO WHY AREN'T YOU CRYING?!? which just doesn't do anything for me at all and I don't get what other's are on about, either. And believe me, I am usually someone who's pretty quickly touched by moments like this in games; especially in Japanese RPGs. Even sometimes very cheesy stuff like Kingdom Hearts can make me feel things. But there's just nothing really here trigger any emotion. It's like they know just about what sadness is, maybe even some situations that make people sad, but they don't actually feel it - or at least don't know how to convey what they feel. It simply lacks some of the subtlety underneath the heavy-handedness that we usually get in these things. It - and that goes for the whole project, judging by the more recent trailers and the demo - just feels to me like someone who wants to be an artist, and they have all the tools needed, and they have seen a ton of pictures and know how they work and how they were made; they have seen people's reactions to them and even read how-to books on drawing/painting. But they have never done it themselves, so they lack the skills, the experience, the subtle things that, even with the same material and circumstances, drawing the same thing, make you see a huge difference between a great artist and an amateur. That's what this feels like. Them having the recipe for a touching scene, but lacking the skills to make it actually touching. (that was way too much text to make such a small point. Guess that's the difference between a great critic and RU-vid-comment master and me)
You know...as much as I liked FFXV....it honestly feels like they put more time and effort into promoting the game, then actually making it great...you know with all of the episode DLC(Episode Ardyn being the only one that was NOT pretty much done at launch seeing as it was an after thought.) and such.
Great symbology in the trailer the Angels in Knight form in the back of the castle the down of light has more meaning than the hollow shell they released.
Gives me Final Fantasy VI vibes!!!This game will change everythingAmazing music!!!Mindblowing graphics!!Great action combat!!!And the most impressive this games has heart!!!
Coming back to this after beating the game is like getting stabbed with a knife in your heart and then pouring lemon juice and rubbing salt all over it.
Little Noctis is so cute. I was hoping for a release date, but I'm not that upset. I'm glad they're not rushing it and I can understand what's taking them a bit. Aside from everything else, Square Enix is working on three big games at once, all with Nomura paying close attention to each. We have FF15, KH3 and the FF7 remake in the works. The future looks very promising even if its still a ways off. :)
*TO ALL THOSE LOOKING FOR A RELEASE DATE* i've read from multiple Google sources online that the release date is anywhere from about March to July *2016* have fun with that information.
