Final Fantasy XV sad moment between Lunafraya and Noctis! SPOILER if you are not up to this part. Ardyn Izunia kills Lunafreya during the battle in Leviathan.
This death scene is beautiful, but it’s a shame we didn’t see Luna actually develop into a main character like she was supposed to be. I was only sad at this part because I felt bad for Noctis.
I remember seeing all the trailers when the game was still called FFVSXIII and even when it was turned into FFXV before Kingsglaive, it looked amazing and like a true FF. Unfortunately I have to say the game disappointed me. It felt like an incomplete game that was rushed so they could just finish it up and finally release it. This scene was probably what I enjoyed the most of the game.
Although this scene was made by Square Enix Image Production (formerly named as Visual Works), while the movie was made by its director with another 50 companies. Even so I must to say that the direction and design of Visual Works cutscenes is even better, majestic.
She barely got development, but this scene hit so damn hard. Fighting so hard to come up short. I almost break down hearing kid Noctis say all I wanted was to save you.
I feel that way about a lot of soundtracks. When I was little, I used to go to sleep with a recording of Little Mermaid and I got the soundtrack for Christmas that year. It wasn't the same, because certain non-song parts got taken out (like the gasp at the end of the daughters of Triton song) That's when my love-hate relationship with soundtracks began.
This scene was so beautiful. I absolutely loved the transition of little Noctis to big Noctis. Very smooth and the acting was great. I've heard it in both JP and ENG. Both are good. ^^
It's a shame that this game failed miserably at giving Lunafreya some character development... I felt bad for her but my heart definitely only broke for Noctis during this scene. That desperate gasp (and I think you can hear him say "I can't") at around 2:36 really hit me.
@@lucylerma8211 Yes, it’s called Kingsglaive! From what I remember, it sets things up for FFXV and takes place prior to Noctis’s and the other’s journey.
"All I wanted was to save you" has a deep meaning come to think of it All Players of FF franchises wanted to save their beloved characters from their fate Aerith, Galuf, Tidus and so many more When I realized that I 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 The one who wrote this line for Noctis to say it proves that he understood our feelings towards this game and its characters... And to think they gave this line to someone as relatable as humane as Noctis hits hard to the core of our hearts Even Luna when she said that this moment has to be enough is the moment when we last see our loved ones is true once they leave there is no turning back...
no shame, by far my favorite. the chemistry between the characters was seamless. Beautiful soundtrack, fun gameplay and by far the best and most developed base cast out of all the games. FF7 is heavily overrated, overshadows beautiful works like FFXV.
I never played this game, yet I am incredibly curious about the story. This scene shattered my heart into pieces, after realizing, what exactly the bond between Luna and Noctis is. I couldn't stop crying, but I need to say, I really don't regret it
The point is, this is a story with a romeo and juliet undertone combined with the narrative of a fairy tale. The impact comes from understanding that narrative of the distance in love and that when they were able to be together, death separated them again. Noctis and Luna are a great couple but their story was a tragedy and one of those that leaves you empty. That's not a bad thing, fans are just used to FF characters being like Yuna or Tidus when it comes to a romantic plot and not all love stories are told like that.
Except Tidus and Yuna had an alternate sad ending and before them was Cloud and Aerith although the Clotis love to deny them even if every other tragic couple is acknowledged 😅
THANK YOU!!! Exactly! Everyone says "Luna was SUPPOSED to be in the game more", but it was very clearly a narrative choice to make you feel Noctis's distance and longing. People want this perfect scenario, but as you said, it's a tragedy. It's supposed to be painful.
Thank you!! So tired of everyone trashing this couple, and undermining the romance, as if it was forced, or political. The whole point was that they were star crossed bombarded by so many obstacles, that without getting to see, and say the words face to face, they loved each other with the same intensity. They were just never able to express it, for their own reasons.
Saddest scene ever in any game or movie. A young girl knowing her destiny is to die And when it is. Imagine living with that burden. Then you have a boy who was sent out of a city with 0 knowledge of what was about to go down. Your city destroyed, father killed, and you know you have to sacrifice your own life to save the world from darkness. The story of this game was powerful.
And that's why people didn't like the game cuz they didn't get their happy ending then square-enix panics because they knew they're going to have a fan backlash from not getting the Happy Endings so Square Enix decide to go white a fanfiction dawn of fate if you were that desperate for a kind of story not the fact that the story actually clashes with the story behind the Final Fantasy 15 and the myths and legends of the world the Final Fantasy 15 takes place when that happens is considered fanfiction and the catering to a small group of idiots who think they're actual fans only reason people have any complaints about the stories is there was no happy ending if they got their happy ending do you think he will be complain about the story Board of the game no I don't think so I've seen far worse things than this have Happy Endings and never heard any complaints about that particular other games they had bad stories but happy endings did the level of fans out there that we don't need in this world insult the real fans could the game have been better absolutely but I've seen far worse trust me ignoring that was Square Enix cancel the downloadable content with Luna blame them for not expanding on the storyline involving her so they could good write a fanfiction dawn of fate instead of doing that Square Enix could have released the downloadable content of Luna and noctis is friendship Poli SCI to take a quick and easy way to write a a fanfiction dawn of fate and not only that but insult the creator of Final Fantasy 15 but what they did and that is why he left the company because it was Square Enix did with the Final Fantasy 15 dawn of Fate nonsense don't get me wrong Square Enix redeem themselves when they made Final Fantasy 7 remake let's hope we don't screw that up too if fan don't like the ending and these are and this is why video game companies are failing at making decent games the catering too much to the fan pardon my Star Trek puns that has good old-fashioned Kobayashi Maru no-win scenario
"This is my sad an tear breaking death scene, and everyone will remember me as a very important character" - Sorry Noctis, Luna's dead. - Who? -Also, I'm blind. - How did that happen? - Would u like to purchase this dlc to know what happened?
I absolutely love Luna because even tho she is criminally underdeveloped I remember the fact that while Noct is screwing around making cup noodles with Gladio this poor girl is trying to figure out a way to keep her people safe and actually move the plot forward.
No bcs i realised thats kinda true, now that i think about it, luna is a pretty character, i did prefer stella/sarah over her for noctis but she was so beautiful, she deserves better man😭
Believe it or not, final fantasy 15 was the first game to actually make me cry, i always loved games and characters but i never ever cried in any games over a character or sad thing, yet final fantasy 15 somehow was unique, i didnt play it or know the full lore but its sad and beautiful, I also noticed how i relate abit to noctis, having trouble to express my feelings and self and always trying to be happy and yet unexpected things come and make sad and unable to speak how i feel, but still i gladly fought, Noctis is a character i kin, such a lovely and nice character.
Such a beautiful character honestly. I’m so sad they didn’t get the best ending … nonetheless a beautiful story for such an incredible game. Honestly Final Fantasy brings tears to me eyes Jesus. I love the stories they put out… even the time paradox I don’t even understand. Lol
i don't play final fantasy but i always admire the character's design its so damn beautiful and gorgeous! and my fav is noctis stella and luna from ff15! even tho i only could see this scene in youtube not the game, its enough ,, haha
Took me a while to place how this scene makes me feel. And it feels like every time I got the news and it makes me miss so many people that were important to me.
Traveling there and expecting to save her just for it to be in vain completely diverted my expectations. A lot of this game was so dark and bleak too, Prompto being a synthetic grown human like in Blade Runner with others modeled with the same likeness was a total mindfuck that came outta left field. Made me question what it means to be human and how much a natural biological birth actually factors into that. This game had it's fair share of criticisms, but it went very in depth with it's sci-fi concepts to an uncanny level that kinda freaked me out and induced ego death
I come back to this and my heart breaks that's for years they have been exchanging messages through that journal and that Luna predicted her death so she sent him the flower much like in their last goodbye together. It's so beautiful but painful. They cared deeply for eachother though she wasn't allowed to leave her home due to being held hostage so that journal was the best they can do aaaaaaahgh.
I guess I'm one of the few who actually like the story...I've waited since XIII Versus trailers for this game, and while I was disappointed by what FXV became, I actually was satisfied with the story bc I'd rather have a target to blame for the tragedies (i.e. the gods, prophecies, and humans. eff them all). Not trying to sound edgy, but tragedies make good stories.
I actually did also find this story disappointing. The cracks from the fact that they tried to re-write but also keep parts of Nomura's original vision are blatant, and too many parts are written way too fast. Also, that time skip at the very end was super pointless and added nothing other than a "gotcha" moment for me.
I was playing FF15 for the first time and when I reached fantasy Venice I told myself: "It would be so cool and romantic for Noctis to have a walk with Lunafreya on these streets at night". But no, someone at SE decided to deny those 2 a simple moment together.
This might sound a bit ridiculous, but this whole scene (0:00 - 2:58) feels like Noctis and Lunafreya are actually in the Final World (the afterlife realm in Kingdom Hearts 3), or rather the XV version of said realm.
When Aerith died in FF7 I cried, when Luna died I was like "oh well". I barely even knew Luna as a character, her background, lack of screentime, development and I even forgot her name several times. Not a memorable character to me and I don't hate her, I'm just not attached and don't know her enough to even care. She was like "Hello nice to meet you~", then she died.
The story isn't knowing who she was, it was knowing what she meant to Noct. Yeah, she doesn't get background or any of that, but the important point is that the childhood years of Noct, and growing up thinking this is your wife, you're going to be with her forever and she is gentle as hell as much as we see of her. Then she dies in your arms, she was a plot point yes, but it's a different type of death than Aerith.
I am so upset that I could not find this game enjoyable. It is so beautiful visually. When Lunafreya died I remember feeling like when I finished Silent Hill for the first time... I had no idea what happened.
Lunafreya is the Hinata Hyuga of this game. Her whole character is to love, serve and die for someone she hasn't even seen for twelve years. Hell, while even being dead, she still had to serve him. Then this game has the absolute nerve to paint her as an good person despite the fact she selfishly hid the fact from Noctis that he was basically a blood sacrifice and watched her own brother get his arm burned off. I could've respected her more if she got tired of everyone's shit and fought for her own life and future, instead of following orders like a lost puppy.
Are you fucking serious? Ravus was against Noctis, luna even though her brother was against Noctis being king and saying he would never be a good king actually didn’t care. She believed in Noctis, also ravus was a bad guy since the beginning but changed towards the end. The guy was with the empire, held his own sister captive, thought he was greater than the kings themselves and decided to play with his own life putting on the ring of the lucii which in return burned off his arm. Luna was a sweet character because she didn’t only serve her loved one which was Noctis. She served her people, she healed each one of them from any illness. She traveled the world, she could have not healed anyone but she did which resulted in her death. So don’t say they had the nerve to paint her as good when she saw her brother’s arm got burned off. Also the blood sacrifice shit, that isn’t something Luna is supposed to tell him about. That is the job of HIS OWN FATHER.
ff 15 had a lot of flaws especially in the late game. But i couldn't have asked for a better introduction to the ff series than this game what a journey this game was. gonna replay it soon
I noticed most of the comments are mainly sad for Noctis and not Luna. Which is just... kinda sad in another way. This scene would have hit different if Luna has been giving more meaningful interactions with us players and Noctis. Not this. Kinda pen pal the game kept telling you Noctis is totally in love with. Just see how hard the ending of ffx, it never fails to make you sad because of how much the game build up the relationship of Tidus and Yuna, and us players. It wouldn't have been as effective if ffx were to be Luna'd
I remember also, part when Squall questioning "I'm I all alone?" really feel his desperation at that time ... but then feel funny tho as at begining he said to Quistis, when she want him to just to hear, but he reply "Then go talk to a wall" ... not to mention also that Squall constantly throw "whatever..." (don't care) 😂
