Leaf it to you to branch out and show such unbe-leaf-able skills in the game! You really spruced up the competition and planted your roots firmly as a top player. It’s clear you’re not just going with the phloem; you’ve mastered the forest of challenges with your timber-iffic strategies. Your opponents were totally stumped, while you wood-n’t even break a sweat. It’s oak-ay to say you're a natural at this; you’ve definitely turned over a new leaf in gaming excellence. Keep growing strong, and soon enough, you’ll be at the tree-top of the leaderboard! Congratulations on such an a-tree-mazing performance!
regarding noctis swim ability. He can swim and he actually does it during the main game. during the first Leviathan battle stage. it is possible to jump in the water and swim around. 😉
I love that song so much. Been whistling it for 13 years. The melody is mesmeric and exhilarating. Once I was fighting along gui. The battle was stalemated because I was focusing on the music and not the fight
Hi Kyos. I've lurked your stream quite a few times but don't think I've ever said hi. it was cool to see you on stage for gdq, and even cooler to see that you matched your model. Very cool run of a game I love. :) Good commentary from everyone too, shoutout to the homie cosmic.
Just for the record, "hydrophobia" _is_ the fear of water... It's just also been used to refer to rabies because one of the symptoms of late-stage rabies tends to be fear or panic when presented with liquids to drink. This is why "aquaphobia" tends to be more commonly used to describe an irrational fear of water, even though "hydrophobia" would be more correct. (See the 40:30 mark if this tangent makes absolutely no sense.)
I beg to differ - every single explorer-type player will instantly try and figure out exactly which high points and nooks and crannies exist right at the start. And will then also wander across most of the available 'open world' before eventually (maybe) coming back to actually do the quests/story lol
I used to be that way, but you get too strong to make the main line challenging. So I speed through the story and leave exploration til near the end or post game .
I'm really interested in this run! It would be great if they actually explained what they were doing and what was going on, rather than just make cryptic inside jokes and ambiguous comments that explained nothing... Not everyone is a part of your community.
Hi Eric! I made a post about it after the run, if we were to explain the full nuts and bolts of the run it would have been a complete information dump with no time to really let the run shine and the event do their thing. If you're interested in the technical breakdown check the tutorial I have posted or just feel free to track me down and I can give you the 1s and 0s on it.
The rough tl;dr breakdown of the run is: 1) complete intro quest and skip the motel to park at the locked bridge. 2) ZCB around gate and summon car to drive down to Wiz to get chocobo for Insomnia wrong warp. 3) ZCB into Deadeye dungeon and complete quest 4) warp back to car to setup Active Menu Glitch (multiple menu stack/buffer overflow) 5) turn in quest, warp back to Hammerhead, rest, and exit to main menu to clear menu overlay to prevent softlock 6) eat Jambalaya for buff at takka's and rent chocobo 7) open menu then switch view when mounted to "pause" the game (this deloads assets further away as the game can't load in assets when it's paused) 8) proceed to out of bounds area, dismount chocobo before the water then remount with the save menu open 9) save and load at area to load into chapter 13 10) proceed through ch 13 and talk to Cor and Josef to get infiltration side quest 11) proceed til Ifrit, open menu when opening the next door to perform tutorial skip 12) proceed to throne room, open menu before cutscene to use naked character glitch to prevent softlock during inventory check 13) perform ardyn escape, requip noctis and initiate side quest with cor 14) damage down Ardyn to around 2/3 health and open menu into phase 2 cutscenes (or summon if that happens). 15) swap outfit before phase 2 fight to swap Cor into phase 2 and 3 and leave weapon selection open. 16) when entering phase 3 of Ardyn, do not select weapon until combat starts as the game wipes your inventory EXCEPT for the sword of the father. As we do not have it, we select a weapon after combat starts, locking that into our equipment. 17) GG
Are you guys excited to speedrun future final fantasies? They just seem to be getting too easy to be fun. It was cool when you had to figure out how to skip cutscenes and manipulate encounters.
@@mikegillespiemusicsquare enix messed up my collectors edition all those years ago and I actually got the game a week early. Day one was a revelation and watching the game grow through the patches and dlcs was something else. Still one of my favorite casts and narratives in the entire series.
Some of the dialogue is unstoppable in certain places, it doesn't really add up to more than a few seconds in any% but the glitchless category its around a minute or two.
You can't skip every dialogue. For example, between 5:00 and 6:00, there are some lines that you simply have to wait around for. It really depends on the game. They often wait for voice lines/texts to be completed before activating the next flag, so some languages are simply faster. For text, Japanese and Chinese have less characters so they're often faster. For audio, it really depends on how the voice lines were recorded, as well as the speed of the speakers. It can gain only a few seconds, or sometimes minutes over the course of a full run.
