Yoshi P gets stuff done too, so I don't think we'll have a half baked development hell product again (and I'm saying that as some who likes 15 despite itself haha). At least I certainly hope not.

FF14 the MMO has very mature rated things in the story. The story in 14 is considered by many to be the best one in any FF currently, but most people don’t know because they don’t play it. You have prostitutes, dismemberment, war atrocities, words like ‘bitch, bastard, shite and whoreson being used by characters, etc. There is a little blood shown here and there, but not enough gore to get them a M rating. It’s rated T for teen, with a description of “Alcoholic reference, animated blood, language, suggestive themes, violence”. The director of FFXIV, Naoki Yoshida (known as Yoshi P) is a producer on this game. After he resurrected FF14 from 1.0 and remade it as the highly successful A Realm Reborn, the company gave him a lot of cache.

Type-0 would have been KILLER if it got an AAA game treatment.

The best thing is, they made a comment about how "A Mainline FF game, will never be as violent as Type-0, because a brutal FF would turn off many fans." To say the least, they were wrong

@Jelly Bean yess I am just glad they are working on a new single player final fantasy game so now the world can truly see there talent and how amazing on telling Amazjng stories they are, Ff14 have a lot of players but not most people play because it an MMO some people doesn't want to get involved with mmos, even though Ff14 it like a single player ff but with friends, my favorite expansion so far is heavensward even though I can't say it is my favorite since it the only one I played 😂😂😂 but I can say it my favorite story hope the rest of the expansion live up to it

Definitely hiding them. Every debut trailer of a mainline game, they always just showcased the main character. (VIII, X, XIII, and XV) The party is going to be introduced in future trailers.

I think the modern “ff” games just aren’t final fantasy. They are just wearing final fantasy’s skin. Spoony, the old RU-vid guy, did a perfect breakdown of FFXII and how it makes no sense. When you go to the license board... like, what IS that? To the characters? It doesn’t exist to them. So there is a whole layer tot he game that only exists because it’s a game and is t justified by the plot at all. That only becomes a factor in later FF games as opposed to, say, FF 4 where everything in the game is the story and the story is the game. It’s just better design work.

eventough the battle looks like DMC style, but I still think it will be not that manual like you play DMC, It will be a simple button just like FFXV or FF7R did. And I think the difference will be the party member. Eventough they didn't show in this trailer, there will be party member just like the previous FFXIII and FF7R first announcement, that they only show the main protagonist battle.

Yes, I feel the same way. They don’t deserve all the hate and negative comments everywhere - they are slowly coming back in shape. But yes, FF13 series, FF14 1.0 launch and not so great FF15, of course many were disappointed. It will take time for them to build up trust again.

I highly recommend trying the ff7 remake. But you can start with any number. They are all different worlds and stories. They just have similar themes, monsters, weapons, music etc.

Rosencrantz I disagree but I understand that people like it. More people like the “new” FF than ever liked the old. But I don’t find much to like about the Sakaguchi-less FF games. There was a definite point after FF7 where Final Fantasy became “cool” and “sexy” which was never a part of the original games. (I guess largely because they couldn’t be). I never really liked that vibe. I liked it when FF was less serious and had one foot in the arena of musical theatre. (The stories were told like musical theater and the games frequently featured some element of theatre like the opera house or Tantalus)

JazGalaxy You should atleast play Final Fantasy Tactics and Final Fantasy 12. Both of those games are similar to what was shown in FF16 like politics being a main part of the story. FFT is one of the greatest games of all time and FF12 is a an amazing prequel to flesh out FF Tactics' world.

@@dreamer6737 I didn't really get into XIV until it was announced that Yoshi P was involved with this, so my wife and I decided to try it out to check his style. We are early on into Stormblood now and it has been a WILD ride. Heavansward pulled off some story beats and action PACKED cutscenes that I didn't even know were possible in MMOs. I can't wait to get through Stormblood, Shadowbrinders, Endwalker and eventually FFXVI. My faith in the brand is slowly being revived and I'm so hyped about it.

U don't have to play Ff14 for an MMO u can play for just a single player final fantasy game since that what u do most of the time is u playing it solo, and now square they let us play Ff14 for free for basically the entire base game and the first expansion which I recommend u try heavensward the first expansion it brilliant

Nah, unlike WoW or other MMOs. Game doesnt need commitment unless you really just doing it to do extreme raids. If youre just going for story then gear is pretty much handed to you to complete it all.

@@hornyanddepressed6805 To a small degree. I think it looks very much like the direction FF15 was going, with a bit of Platinum Games thrown in. I think it's relevant in the sense that it isn't stuck in development hell, and it's not ANOTHER spin off of FF13.

XpertRebel95 FF15 is so boring. I stopped at like 10 hours. I just couldn’t be bothered anymore. The world is empty and ugly, characters are the least diverse & interesting ever in the entire franchise... and looks like they’re doing that again with 16. All white all male fantasy.

@TheVolourn Why do you people always say "we" can you not just talk for yourself. And "certainly not actual FF"? Then what is? We had turn based, ATB based, realtime gambit, ATB Paradigm Shift, ATB Action with all RPG elements. So why do you decide which one is "actual FF" and which one is not. The combat already looks really good so far. You have actual combos, enemies staggering, timing based dodge/block, actual RPG elements and different magic elements. Do you really want high end visuals and then have characters slowly take their turns? And please don't act like FF ever needed any strategy or something. The only somewhat balanced FF games were FFX intenational, FFX-2 international and FF Tactics WOTL, the other ones were mostly "use attack command for 90% of the game except super bosses" I bet you also think the PS1 games were turn based the in fact FF only had 3 or 4 turn based, ATB is not turn based, enemies will not wait for your turn. ATB and Turn based was always just a limitation factor, if they could have done realtime combat earlier they would have done it. And the game is at least 2-3 years away, of course we are gonna see more of it, most likely other playable party members too. With Yoshi P and the Dragon's Dogma battle designer on it you can bet your ass we are gonna get some crazy Blackmage characters among other ones. Everyone screams for FFXVI now now now and then they get it and do nothing but complain after we barely know anything about it.
