I own an eBay auto parts business and please do not do a back charge on your card, message the seller. You may not realize but it hurts the seller more than just losing the money, it messes up all the eBay metrics and can cause them to be charged a higher percentage for years. I'm not surprised tommy told you to do it because that's his character but not yours. Just message the seller, I'm sure they will send you the fork.
