Final Moments Before Raisi's Chopper Split Into Two; 'No Mayday Call By Pilot Indicates...' 

The rule is when high officials are flying you don’t put them all in the same plane in case there’s an accident.

Someone want to tell the news editors that this is a picture of a crashed AIRPLANE and NOT a helicopter.

Any pilot knows that mountains and fog at low levels are a recipe for disaster.

This has to be very embarrassing for Iran.... This specific helicopter was the "Bell 212 model" from 1971. Which means its has been flying for 53 years with the same old parts. And because of the US sanctions on Iran 45 years ago, Iran hasn't been able to obtain any new aircraft parts or aircraft's. Yet they still managed to put 4 of their top officials on the same doomed helicopter. Why though? You would never see other countries put their Presidents on the same plane as one of its Ministers or its Vice-President. Just like you would never see the US President "Joe-Biden" travel on the same plane as "Antony Blinken" or "Kamala Harris". This just shows that Iran is struggling deep.

If you have ever seen a helicopter crash before, something to consider is say as they did controlled flight into terrain while disoriented in the fog, one of the rotor blades hits a tree and sheers off. Now you only have one rotor blade with this helicopter. That creates a huge imbalance. What happens when a main rotor blade separates on a two blade helicopter is the main rotor shaft bends from the imbalance and usually the remaining blade strikes the tail, violently shearing it off and creating huge forces that blows the helicopter apart. Those rotor blades have a huge amount of kinetic energy in them, so it is like getting a direct hit by a large ship gun round. It is likely more kinetic energy than a tank round hitting, which is why I say large ship gun round. So yeah, the helicopter split apart and those onboard were likely dead before the main body of the helicopter hit the ground. I mean the whole helicopter is the drive train, so when they start hitting stuff as they fly into terrain while under power, it tends to be a very violent end for those onboard as the helicopter rips itself apart, exploding into a million pieces just from the kinetic energy in the drive train. And really, if Iran wants to point fingers, who gave the clearance to fly an outdated helicopter that probably wasn't setup from end-to-end to safely fly in the fog through a mountainous region? You need a certain safety culture that says if you can't safely do this, especially with the president of your country onboard, then you don't fly. You either wait or find some other way back. You certainly don't needlessly risk dying and especially in this case getting the president of your country killed along with other top officials of your country. If your safety culture is lacking so severely that you get the president of your country along with other top officials killed, what are you doing over there? I mean rule #1 of manned flight is to know your safe limits and do not exceed them because otherwise there is likely a fatal accident in your immediate future. New aircraft, old aircraft, the same rule applies.

They probably flew straight into the mountain due to heavy fog, without any warning. This has happened countless times all around the world. They should have waited for better weather.

As a helicopter instructor pilot I can assure you, that when you slam into a mountain at 120 knots, you don't have time to do anything.

Flew into a mountain in the fog. The pilot didn't have time for even an "oh shit", much less a Mayday call.

Nah, he just flew straight into the mountain, blind in the fog, not knowing it was quite that high or his helicopter that low.

It was foggy. Flying in a mountainous region. John Denver’s crashed into a mountain on a clear day. Kobe Bryant helicopter crashed in the same manner. You can’t assign blame.

The aging chopper they were traveling in, had no mechanical problems for a mayday call. Visibility was bad and they crashed in a wooded area in a mountainous region.

Who to blame? But the pilot in command? Be civil/military!!!! If the pilot in command assumes his responsibility with safety first! Any passenger arrives to his final destination in one piece! Period! The twin engine Bell 212 from Bell Textron is a transport helicopter from Forth worth Tx. It was developed in the mid 1960's in cooperation with the Canadian government. Also produced under license in Italy as the AB-212. A further development of the Bell 212 is the Bell 412 with a four blade main rotor. Their aging Bell helicopter had reportedly "hit a mountain and disintegrated" amid high fog, low visibility conditions!!!!!! Crash was weather related, but due to sanctions on Iran, many aircraft face a shortage of parts, so officials are not ruling out a maintenance issue as a reason for the crash. No comment has been made on the cause of the crash at the moment (although many online have been quick to point fingers baselessly). It should be noted that the helicopter was old (and maintenance in the face of sanctions is questionable), while the weather conditions at the time of the crash were foggy. The helicopter had a blue back fin as shown all over the world. Yet your pictures show a white fin.

Why was he out in the first place. What was so important that he fly in bad weather?

Rumour has it, the pilot was getting lost in the weather on their way back to Tehran. Then the ground proximity sensors sounded " terrain , terrain " . So the pilot then aimed for there 😂

There were three helicopter envoy, took off from Azerbaijan, two landed safely, only the one carrying the President of Iran crashed. Copter split into two. Pilot didn’t make May Day call before crash. Very suspicious.

We don't even use a 40 year old car for long distance travel. The country spent money to build a nuclear energy station, part of it should have been used to buy new helicopters with advanced technology for the travel of country's top most leaders.

The wreckage shown in the ground doesn't even look like the chopper shown flying. Completely different colors. Wreckage looks like a plane tail, not a chopper.

The pilot was disorientated by the fog and flew into the mountain having lost situational awareness in unfamiliar terrain (possible dropping altitude to find a reference point through the murk ?). Many previous incidents of a similar nature can be found. Just my impression.

Something is clearly wrong here, we see a white and blue helicopter, pay attention to the tail, there is a blue flag on it, in the next picture where the crashed tail can be seen, it is suddenly white with a flag on it and looks suspiciously like a plane's tail . In a third picture we see the parts of another crash in the colors dark blue, light blue and white, but the proportion of light blue does not even begin to match the helicopter

Spatial disorientation is my guess. Happens easily if you don't trust your instruments or not trained properly. Karma is sometimes a good thing too.
