@@jimlepeu577 after all these years TV licencing is actually saving me money by me shredding their letters and using for my cat's tray so I no longer need to buy cat litter, perhaps I could start a whole new business and the wholesaler will be TV licencing 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Doug Morris: Har har, knowing how ferrets use litter trays bless 'em, I'm all in favour of you sending the results of using the letters to line those trays back to TVL. 🤣🤣 Silly moos, they unutterably deserve it for mounting these ridiculous campaigns of threats, intimidation, demanding money with menaces, and hoping they can stitch people up.
We told them we found the letter intimidating. They said they were standard letters, we said they named us on the letter. We said they need to stop harassing us. They then took our name off the letter and started to send even more letters. TBH it felt like retaliation. I would love to see them taken to court too. It's just constant letters with silly threats. I am disabled and poor as sh1t.
Thank you for this Chilli, this is very timely as I received a similar email from them only yesterday. Even though I’ve already notified them of a “ no licence needed” and they acknowledged and emailed me a “ no licence needed” number! What they’re doing is plain criminal. So thank you again for this reassurance Chilli!
@@TABRO284 I have got one as well. Been telling them for years now I don't watch TV. Now I have a letter to "The present Occupier" at my address as I "May have moved" and log in and do it all again! Get Lost.
Blimey I’ve just found your channel can you believe 3 days after I paid my license fee after receiving a threatening letter saying that my details had been passed on and someone from the Cardiff office will be calling round..That did worry me so I paid 😔my sister hasn’t had a licence for years she always gets away with everything, me I try it and they have me straight away. I don’t want debt collectors knocking my door I’m a female, disabled and living on my own but I’m going to watch more of your videos and see if I can get the courage up to refuse to buy a license next year. Thank you so much for doing this xx
I assured my step father of how much of a joke these people are and not to worry, he told me of a time years ago when they took him to court and I immediately said you let them in didn't you? Everything on this channel is spot on👌My family has some vunerability and anxiety issues and if it weren't for this channel those letters would probably cause alarm and distress as intended. Cheers Jon 👍
This is a thing that is so wrong they keep sending all these threatening letters to vulnerable people, god forbid if someone was ever seriously vulnerable and they committed suicide over this I wonder what the hell would happen then? That's a very scary and terrible awful thought, this law for TV licencing is so bad and out of date
@@MYBIGKINDHEARTExactly! Imagine the amount of people who are unaware of their tactics, having a bad day/week and then receiving threats through their letterbox it's so disgusting on so many levels. These letters are 100% aimed at the vunerable and misinformed. Crazy how an "established" company can act so immoral, they should be the ones in front of a judge.
@@troublesome7640 they are pure scum in my view, I don't even know how these si called goons can go to people's doors knowing full well that this is so wrong to still be doing in this day n age when do many things like streaming services etc are now way ahead of the BBC
This channel is so good. I gave up my tv's when they switched off my analogue signal back in 2009. Every 2yrs they have sent me letters, this time around I've thrown them in the bin (even the red one with the word "Offical" in the little window). The last one asked me in I'll be in on the 16th of June. I think I'll be out in a beergarden somewhere. Keep up the videos.
Jon you are bloody brilliant guy. You've saved me hundreds. If you added up all the cash you've saved people it must be millions. Well Done and thank you! 😊
Love it!!! I’ve had the final warning notice for several months now. We WILL “send the boys round” in August, September blah blah blah. As I’ve never owned a TV since my return to the UK in 2019, and the BBC don’t make programs for my demographic, I have nothing to fear. Just came back from a holiday in Wales, where we had legal tv, and there was still nothing to watch! Pretty bad if you haven’t watched tv for several years, and still recognise repeats!
tbh i did worry about the letters at first even though i wasn't doing anything illegal but now i save my letters up to put in the bottom of my flower pots, had free flower pot liners now for 4 years
I have lived at my new place around 3 years now and I must have had 40 or 50 letters threating me about visiting me by inforcment officers or legal acting. I tried to send a pict of one to u and it wouldn't let me email it to u, I got pop up saying u were trying to steel my ID. Pot kettle sprung to mind. I struggle with mental health issues and these letters used to really stress me out making me think I must be doing something wrong. Thanks to u and channels like u I know where I stand. My address before hand I called then and told them I didn't watch TV but elwas told on the phone if I had a TV I had to pay, so I sorted a direct debt there and then, I paid for a few months then seen Ur channel. Cheers mate
Chilli!! You should have TV license letter bingo!! There's so many differing variations of their crappy letters, I reckon a good game of bingo could be had by all who saved their letters hahahaha!!
As usual first class advice from Chilli I'm 77 and packed up the licence 2019 have had three goon visits had no contact with them and get monthly threatening letters. Currently under "Investigation" for the third time and still they don't know my name. Let em waste their time and money. My only concern is if the licence is stopped they will find a way to extort money out of everyone.
I have had around 25 or 30 letters. So I contacted them and asked if they could please send more as they are perfect for lighting my fire and I am running short.
They threatened to send a goon in the last threatogram. We told them under no circumstances to visit our address and that the assumed right of entry was withdrawn. The missive was then sent back to them suitably annotated. So far we have not heard from them.
You made a big mistake...making contact with them. They'll never leave you alone now and I'll bet they up their pathetic harassment on your address. No contact, send all correspondence unopened right back to them with return to sender written on it.
Yeah, don't get aggressive. You cannot intimidate people who would love you to be violent. Notice how bailiffs and security types only push threats further. It's in their nature to want trouble . That's what makes them tick and their job not boring. They will then visit your address more in order for you to do something illegal. Just be polite, and say you dont talk to anyone without your carer, Mum, Husband, Wife present, but to have a very nice day gents. Then, as the man said, they are off to an easier target. Never tell them that they cant visit your house, as they will tell you they can, and put down you are hiding something.
they wouldn't get the warrant. even if they show evidence. they are not the police and cannot be issued a warrant to enter your property. they have not had the training and do not have the right. only police force can get a warrant. and even then, you still have rights that can prevent them entering.
Even a warrant doesn't allow them to force entry. There's a lovely clip here on RU-vid of someone speaking to them through a bedroom window which he obviously closes and they have to walk away 😂
@JUST LOOKING 👀 they don't wanna pay for all the new front doors when no evidence I guess lol and just so no thanks if they come out windows if they ask name I said Mr Micky mouse and shut upstairs windows lol
Great videos! In case there are any people reading these comments and are unsure if your advice is correct let me tell you I haven't had a TV licence for over 10 years and nothing untoward has ever happened to me for it. I ignore the letters, I won't speak to the goons, never in a million years would I sign anything they have and nothing, I repeat NOTHING has happened to me 👍
I have watched your videos for a long time, and the advice and information you provide to us all is brilliant and you certainly put at ease people who have received threats from nasty TV licensing. Thank you once again for all the work you do. Incidentally, I would be only too pleased to provide a donation, would this be allowed.?
This is very sad. Keep prepping against your own government. They are not only stupid but dangerous. That this is allowed is just a distraction, death rate up 40%, insurance companies are having a cow. Not old people, 18 to 36 year olds. Love your commentary. Thanks for the info!
About 10 years ago, a goon turned up with a warrant, accompanied by a police constable and tried to get into my house. I simply queried the warrant with the policeman as it looked like a simple computer print out, not something you’d expect from a court of law. The policeman agreed with me and escorted the goon from my property on my request. So, even if they do have a warrant, they still need you to comply, otherwise they cannot come in, well, that was my experience anyway. Now I’ve moved but for years I’ve been getting the final notices, once a month. They are always addressed to the occupier as they don’t know my name, they are getting annoying but, if I contact them to say I don’t require a licence, they will require my name and, I don’t want them to have it so, I must endure the junk mail.
Back again to thank you for your videos, the court warrant part on the one I got today gave me a shiver but I'm not planning to let them in. My video doorbell is worth every penny 😁
Sometimes you get clever goons though. We used to do cold calling, and if anyone tried to be a smart ass, we would mark their number for extra calling. It's the same with these agencies. Try to be too clever, they can make it hard for you. They can peer through the window, or pretend to have recorded you listening to live TV. They can lie about what you told them, and put heat on you. Then you should only not worry if you are truly not breaking rules. Did you know your Smart TV monitors keystrokes and channels you watch - unless you know how to disable everything during setup? Samsungs don't let you disable everything. Our Sony does. Its very unlikely that the BBC will monitor watch you watch through the internet, but the potential is there they were really out to get you, and you couldn't prove them wrong if you tried to fight anything. Its simply better to not engage, but wish them a good day.
Keep up the great work Jon, ive been getting these threat o grams for near on 3 yrs now at least every 6 weeks or so. still waiting for the knock on the door so i can say no thankyou and shut the door.
I'm still waiting for them to come round 🤣, they keep sending letters and I file them in the bin, let them waste there time and money, thanks for this channel 👍
In my younger days, I was renting a flat where the previous occupier had cut the cable leading to the aerial on the roof. So, I had no way of watching TV in the house. I received a threatening letter from TV licensing, so I called them up and explained the situation. They apologised and said it may have been for the previous occupier and that they'd remove it from their database. 6 months later I received another letter stating they had evidence that I'd been watching TV illegally! An absolute lie because I had no way of watching TV.
The irritating thing about the letters is that they are allowed to send them even after you've said you don't require a licence. We cancelled ours in September 2020, and they said that they would contact us again in 2 years to see if our situation has changed. That's not how it should work... once you've told them you don't need one, they should _not_ be allowed to keep contacting you; if anyone else did that, it would be considered harassment.
I've just had a letter saying will you be in on 16th June, then further on we might visit you on the 16th or after, as they are hoping I shit my pants an dash out for a licence but that's not happening but I do hope they pay a visit as I look forward to standing at my door and just constantly laugh right in the goons face then slam the door on them.
Same here too Julie!! I ain't got no plans today so I will be happy to entertain slamming the door in some goon's face hahaha!! Somehow though, I don't think anyone will turn up.... I been Elvis Presley-ing their junk mail and threatograms for months, same with the water company and the gas and electric companies... only difference being that I actually did pay the water, gas and electric... with Promissory Notes I created myself... As Lord Denning from the supreme courts stated: "all promissory notes MUST be treated like cash" so that's how I pay them! They don't like it, but its completely lawful and legal and it took care of that pesky 51% increase recently in meter rental costs across both fuels.
Don't throw them away ! Re-post them in a PO letterbox so the Postal Service will re-deliver them to you !! And if everyone did this with all these letters there would be millions of these letters re-circulating in the mail system, and will cause a massive problem for the post office, re-delivering the same letters to people over and over !
Usually I don't open them, as it's obviously from TV Licencing, but if I do, once it is apparent who it's from, it's thrown in the bin. . Now I will repost it. . May make no difference, but let's try it. .
There's a couple of companies that keep sending me letters even though I've never done business with them. I usually pick "return to sender" on the front and put them back in the post, but this is a much better idea.
I rarely get the reasoning behind the letters as many don't read them and will just throw them away. The scare tactics these letters cause to the elderly and vulnerable people is disgraceful disrespectful disgusting behaviour. I've heard dozens of times already that these letters are the reason why so many people rush to the post office to pay their TV license due to the fear of a goon visit. Many goons try to force their way in and will deliberately tune your TV to have you up for watching live TV. Police are powerless and won't protect the people over these goons and its just not right. The BBC don't own every channel or pay every reporter in the world and there for have no right to force this onto people. Many places in the world get to watch live TV for free 100% free but the UK people have to pay for that privilege for others to watch for free. Time for the BBC to charge all nations and give the UK people a break from their demanding behaviour. The government gives them billions of pounds and still they want more money from the UK people as well. Enough is enough time to draw a line in the ground.
@@scudosmyth784 interesting maybe the post office thought it was a bad idea having a TV licence or did the TV licencing just withdraw it from the Post Office?
@@MYBIGKINDHEART The BBC did not renew the contract around 2006. The misconception was that you could previously renew a licence but not buy one, there was also the option to buy `tv licence saving stamps`
I wonder if there’s a test case in the making as it were, what would stop you or any other person from taking them to court and claim it was not justified to be causing upset or even harassment.
Regarding the point you make about identification , as well as their official ID they also carry cards with their details and a confirmation phone number which they should give on the visit , obviously not letting them in is best advice ,,
Last time they visited my house, he pressed my ring door bell. I answered and said 1 minute please then watched to see how long he would stay there lol 8 minutes the clown stood there before he realised nobody was coming to answer the door.
Yours have a bit more persistence than mine then. Mine can't even be arsed to knock the door, they just stick the handsigned letter "we've visited" crap. I guess I've already demoralised them lmao
Thanks for your excellent video - I too had them chasing up TV license - after my dad passed - final straw that was so I cancelled my TV License and now watch catch up + Amazon Prime + You Tube - many said Stuff the Beeb - especially not contributing any more for Lin 'ears gross TV wage of over £1M per year to yap about some football matches
It is indeed demanding money with menaces. This is blackmail, which is a very serious offence, and the penalty for blackmail can be a sentence of up to 14 years in jail. You might want to mention this in any conversation or correspondence you have with TV Licensing.

Final notification, LoL' you'll get another final notice in a few months, we just got the 'Will you be in' for the forth time, what are the chances of a visit on that day, err' !!
I've only had one visit in 23 years of no TV license. I left them alone in my front room to try to get the BBC on my TV. They screamed at me to find the end of the aerial for them. I told them there was no aerial cable at all. They refused to believe me and spent half an hour hunting around the large front room, trying to find it, with no luck at all. Then when they wanted to leave, I stood in front of my front door and really intimidated, the pair of them with an amazing anti TV rant. They were terrified. Yep! I really persecuted them. Didn't hear anything for over 10 years. Now they are threatening to visit me again. Really looking forward to it. The icing on the cake was when I pointed to my chimney, the only one for miles with no aerial on it whatsoever. They literally exploded with anger as they walked away. I'm really looking forward to doing it all again to them!!
That might have worked back then when a tv aerial was the only source of live tv. Now, you'd have to disconnect your cable, satellite, internet and mobile data to achieve the same result!
I left home at 17, I was careful NEVER to give any of my personal information to TV Licencing. Never had a licence, never ever had a visit, had hundreds of letters (in the bin) I am now 57!!!!

There is talk that Nadine Dorries wants the licence ended in 2027 when the charter ends. It will only have a chance with a conservative government. Labour will bend over no problem for the bbc. It's why the bbc has been on an endless witch hunt for Johnson and the conservatives, their gravy train may end with them in power.
