Had 2 visits since cancelling my licence, both times they left with a "no thank you!". TV licencing is probably the only company in the world allowed to assume guilt! The sooner it is abolished, the better!

One turned up , wanted to come in, I said he could if he did so on his knees and referring to me as Lord and Master. He could not get down the path quick enough. They have never been back.

Total waste of time contacting them, when my mother died we cancelled her direct debit and told them, we emptied her house and put it up for sale, it was absolutely disgusting they started sending snotty letters. There was a large for sale sign in the garden, anyone in the world could see photos of the inside of the house on the estate agents website they also had a set of key's to show it to potential buyer's, it was on sale for 5 month's, doesn't say much about their investigation !

Surely we can sue them for HARASSMENT......

TV Licensing should be congradulated for single-handedly keeping the Post Office in business.

Had one round last week, I said I charge £169.50 entry to come in the house. He just walked off!!!!!!

I surrendered my driving licence and haven't had one for 6 years, I have yet to receive a letter from the DVLA or DVLC or whatever they call themselves these days.

It's illegal to watch live TV without a licence but it's illegal to enter the UK without a passport. One you can get fined £1000. The other you are given somewhere to live food to eat and money. Illegal doesn't mean anything to me nowadays.

I have a notice on my door. It states that if you knock on this door and you are not expected you WILL be charged £50.00 and then a further £50.00 for every 60 seconds you want to talk to the occupier. Not had a visit in 10 years Only get 1 letter per 12 months and it is straight in the shredder 👍

im unsure if UK laws, but once u recieve one of these letters, if u respond with a cease and desist letter back, telling them their repeated attempts to threaten harass and intimidate you are unwarranted and illegal. Once u send a cease and desist letter, it now opens up for a criminal complaint of harassment and civil liability. What ppl need to do is start filing both criminal complaints and civil claims against these tyrants acting as tv nazis

ppl should also write on the letters "does not live here - return to sender" and put the letters in a post office box, once the post office gets millions of letter returned to them the costs will have to be billed to the tv company or they will have stop sending the letters due to the return rate costs.

I have no need of a pilot's licence, but I am not required to make a declaration of that fact to the CAA.

My uncle passed 18 months ago. This was before I found your channel, and as I thought I had to at the time, I phoned them and informed them of his passing. They they told me that I could claim back the remaining months of his paid fees. Being the third close family member that year to pass, I can honestly say my head wasn't in the game, and I forgot to call them back or go online. I recently got a letter from TVL saying their usual rubbish, about how there's there's no license, etc. Bearing in mind, between him and my grandad, I dont think their house ever did not have a licence since it first was required to have one, including a radio licence! And now obviously, because he's now passed, and the house is in probate, no one's living there, so no licence is needed. But they're saying they're looking to come and check to see if one is needed. But I have no idea how they plan to check to see if he needs a licence? Not unless, of course, they've got an ouija board and plan to ask him and my grandad's ghosts what the latest cricket scores were to catch them out!

Last tv idiot that visited me ended up sitting in a tree for 45 mins until the police came , my dogs kept him there as they dont like intruders with zero powers , the cops didnt laught but smiled alot , i was told to keep control of my dogs from now on

Honestly whenever I get one of those envelopes, which are easily identifiable as a TV License letter I just throw it in the bin without opening it. I dont need a license, I dont need to tell them shit. Ever since I stopped declaring I dont need a license, nobody has ever knocked on my door from them.

I cancelled mine about 2 years ago and have had the 'to the legal occupier' letters since, which I found funny as they already have my details on their database. Anyway, I decided to fill in the no licence needed declaration on their website and have received their acknowledgement via email. Now, I can't wait for a visit as I live on a small holding in North Wales and my big vicious dog roams the property with my front door about 50 yards from the gated entrance. I have a warning notice regarding the dog to cover myself, so I'd just like to wish any 'enforcement officer' good luck getting to my front door. If you make it, I guarantee you won't make it back!

I like getting the letters monthly, as long as I know it's costing the BBC money then they can send me one daily for all I care gives me free heat for the log burner in winter as well. Up yours BBC

I declared on their website that I don’t need a licence and TV Licensing acknowledged receipt. I then emailed them stating “I hereby withdraw any implied right of access to my property to you or your agents forthwith.” This was suggested by the Black Belt Barrister. They confirmed that they understood this and would use “other means” to identify whether I require a licence. In two years, I have never received either a letter or a visit.

I had a red and white one in my letterbox. It stated: "Do not ignore. You have been visited" although my name and house number was not on it. I went on their website, filled a 'no need for a licence' section then received an email saying I'm OK for 2 years.

We haven't paid the TV Tax in many years. I live in a building with the intercom to access the building. Not long after I declared I didn't need one as we don't watch TV live or otherwise, they sent a goon to the door, they asked my name directly what i thought was odd but let him in anyway, he stated who he was and requested to be invited in, I did, it was the best thing ever!! He looked at the TV ariel saw nothing was connected, and we even offered him to go upstairs to the bedrooms to look at these, he didn't want to and said thank you and left, never had one at the door ever again.

So, as the BBB says this amounts to harassment - take them to court? Get folk together for a class action...could be fun.

As an 50 year old Australian i find your videos amazing, my elderly parents tell me that they use to have to pay a TV License in Australia, but was fazed out in the early 1970s. I cannot believe that in this digital world that a forward moving country like yours still has such an archaic thing like a TV License. It is so ridiculously amusing to me that the courts can issue search warrants to check your TV... It's just unbelievable.

I am questioning how TV license agents attempt to pull off a (phishing scam) right in front of two police constables! Why don't the police arrest them instead?

A lot of tenants who rent rather than own their property don't realise they basically have the same rights when it comes to door-to-door goons. Just because you rent your place, you are under NO obligation to let these goons in. They can't even demand that your landlord allows them entry. Renters out there: you have a right to privacy and quiet enjoyment of your place. Don't let these goons in!

I've always said this about TV Licenses, people who WATCH TV broadcasts including the BBC channels should buy a TV license, but if you don't watch the TV channels at all, then why should you be charged for something you do not use or want?

Only problem is they don't say who they are until you confirm who you are. It's a joke. They say hello are you Mr Mrs miss such in such. You reply who are you? They say are you said person? Who are you? We can't confirm who we are until we know we are talking to the right person. It's important you confirm who you are or I'm here on a official compasity from the government. I need to confirm I'm speaking to the home owner renter the name we have for this address. It's scary. You say who you are and they've got you. They will not identify who they are. If they do get you on the spot and get you flustered or worried you don't always think. You say yes I'm such and such who are you? They still don't say their name but just say I'm here on behalf of the government. By now your worried. I don't know how they are allowed to intimidate someone like that in their own home X

One for people to watch out for are these foreign call centres because one rung me this week with " is that Mr........ yes ......... do you watch tv ? Phone down which is usual for me but it did make me think on who would ask such a question??? Just one to remember.
