Tell me you don't know ball without telling me you don't know ball in the first 4 minutes. No team in the league plays D line every down, they all rotate.
@@SeahawkBoyMikeBarait’s obviously new coaches, New era. Stop living in the past, Pete’s not the coach anymore. So yeah you don’t know football just a fan living n the past
I respect that you are voicing your opinion but I would like for you to not alter your arguments to curb your opinions for example you reference Warren Sharp's metric to back your opinion that the 4th round grades were a reach but you use your personal opinion of what you thought of Byron Murphy (that was ranked higher than where we took him by that same metric) saying that "I'm not particularly impressed..." I agree with your point that our D Tackles are pretty solid in the 3 Tech position. But what neither you or I know is just how Coach MacDonald will utilize any of the players on defense. I don't agree with your sentiment that we needed to draft a QB especially Spencer Rattler. Not because I dislike Rattler(and yes we could have taken him later which I totally would have been on board with) but because I felt that we needed to address the trenches much more than drafting a talented QB (you say QB of the future, agree to disagree). A mediocre O-line no matter who you throw in at QB will produce subpar results, least of all this year. You said we are going to be a 7-9ish team as if drafting Rattler would have changed our win loss record by some massive amount. I really do appreciate that you have a different opinion than I do I just think the sources you use to back your opinion are not as objectionable as they could be. Haynes at 81 is a highway robbery of a steal in my opinion but I don't have a microphone in front of me so I guess that means I'm wrong. Either way you get a Thumbs up from me. I respect what you do. Don't agree but that's what makes this stuff fun. Forgive the long dialogue.
You still think the Russ trade was a mistake? Would you have rather paid him close to 50 mil? I’ll take Geno at 25 mil combined with Cross, Mafe, woolen, Fant, Hall and Witherspoon instead. I respect your opinion but you are off base on this one. Hard to believe there are people who would still debate that the Russell Wilson trade was a mistake for us
I'm not sure, given how little they got out of it. Had I been running things, they would have Cross, Mafe, Fant, and CJ Stroud. Woolen was not a part of the trade. I think that's better than what the Seahawks got.
@@SeahawkBoyMikeBara They picked at #2 we picked at #5. It’s no guarantee they’d let us trade up to number 2 to pick him. You act like the draft world would bend to your will
Watch Byron Murphy’s sugar bowl tape again. He was a headache for the #1 ranked O line in the nation all day. His athleticism and twitch was constantly beating our double teams and forcing Penix to make extremely quick throws. If Penix wasn’t so good at moving around in the pocket and dissecting defenses in a fraction of a second, UW would have gotten buried. Texas had a poor secondary and that was a saving grace for UW with the pressure Murphy was able to apply. He also scored a touchdown against us LMAO. Maybe take a break from the whole football thing.
So what? Is a DT actually our biggest need, or even a need? Not really. he has to be better than Jones, Reed, Williams and Hankins to have an impact. We'll see, but they could have traded out and gotten more picks down the road. It will be interesting to compare his production to the other DTs taken in the next 20 picks. Maybe take a break from the whole commenting thing.
@@SeahawkBoyMikeBara When you don’t know how to analyze film, it’s easy to dismiss a pick because a guy just “isn’t that good.” But he is a difference maker with room to grow too. Drafting for need was what made all of our previous drafts so rough. Who cares if it’s our number one need? What we need is to build a roster with talent. And I’d rather a difference maker on the defense over drafting a middle of the road player at whatever you consider our biggest position of need. Corner was largely considered our strength going into the draft last year and we still took spoon, and it was definitely needed. We had debatably the worst run defense in the league, and Murphy is a run stuffing machine. I don’t understand how you can make takes like this unless it’s genuinely just to drive interaction on your platform. Macdonald got his guy and with how he likes to coordinate his defenses, we’re going to need a solid fresh rotation of DTs regardless. How about this, who would YOU have drafted at 16 if you were the hawks? It seems to me like you’re just choosing to be miserable.
@@SeahawkBoyMikeBara That'll be fun as this will not age well. JS a f'n clown? The clown that brought you your beloved and full of himself R Wilson? Dude, you're the clown. Talk again in a year or two...
Tell me your favorite Seahawks player of all time is Russell Wilson…. Without actually telling me your favorite Seahawks player of all time is Russell Wilson
@@SeahawkBoyMikeBara Yes he won us a superbowl but even I a know nothing fan seen that Russ stopped throwing short quick throws and aired it out damn near every pass putting alot of stress on the line and going 3 and out over and over and over. It was like this 3and out 3 and out 3 and out TD . Russ was most awesome in his younger days and was one of the best deep passers ever in my opinion but he went and put himself b4 team and that was his downfall. If Geno stays healthy behind this revamped line giving him more time to throw and lanes for RB to run with a def not gettin punked week in week out . Let's see what happens.
@@SeahawkBoyMikeBara😂😂😂😂😂 they had a chance at the 2 yard line but your hero Russell Wilson wanted all the glory, and threw the game. Russ hasn’t been good since 2019. His let russ cook year was his fall off
I’m reading all your replies to comments cuz your video got recommended again. Can you please just explain how if you were our GM we would have CJ Stroud as our QB. Please explain
@@Too_Eazy34 One of the worst QBs in the league last year. Set the interception record. Worst team in the league didn't want him around anymore. But yeah, totally our future franchise QB for sure.
He says that every year. And every year it's a lie. He's passed on Purdy, Howell (thank God because he stinks), trading up for CJ Stroud, Will Levis twice, and Spencer Rattler 5 times. I guess he sucks at trying.
Here were the team needs: 1. Quarterback 2. IOL 3. TE 4. LB 5. S 6. DT Maybe you should watch channels who think John Schneider is good at his job instead of ones that deal in reality.
@@SeahawkBoyMikeBara our defense was shit last year. The first 14 picks in the draft were offensive players. It was smart to get probably the best defensive player in the draft that can stop the run. Howell will surprise a lot of people, he is younger than all of the rookies in this years draft. Threw for 4K yards rookie season on a absolute shit team in the Commanders.
Another opinion by a Couch football expert thinking he knows what's best. This is the exact reason why you don't work in the NFL, you probably didn't play a minute of football in your life except for an occasional turkey bowl. So please leave the real results and facts to the experts.
I thought the reason I don't work in the NFL is because I burned top picks on Malik McDowell, Germaine Ifedi, LJ Collier and Dee Eskridge. Oh wait, that's clown show John Schneider! If I had been the owner/GM the last few years, we wouldn't have Nigjigba, Weatherspoon, or Murphy. But we would have CJ Stroud and Ivan Pace, among others. Maybe I should be working in the NFL...
Well, I clearly know more than the guy who burned top picks on Malik McDowell, Germaine Ifedi, LJ Collier and Dee Eskridge. And our QB would CJ Stroud.
I didn't say anybody was wrong on Murphy. I just said DT was not a major need, and he'll have to be the reincarnation of Fletcher Cox or Aaron Donald to have an impact this year. I would have taken the Vikings trade, grabbed Ruke Orohoro or Graham Barton instead, and had a 1, a 2, two 3s and two 4ths next year. But that's me.
@@SeahawkBoyMikeBara So you would take an inferior defensive tackle even though you think defensive tackle is not a need? Obviously. Mike McDonald and John Schneider believe he's a great player and he'll immediately improve our run defense just like he did in Texas. Before him we had Leo, Dre & Morris at DE. That's not enough people. He'll immediately push for starting reps alongside Williams and give us an actual rotation at DE. His tape shows ++ strength, the ability to slice in and consistently disrupt both the run and pass game. He's simply the best defender in the draft.
“Geno doesn’t get that ball to DK in big moments.” what a stupid thing to say when he is the only pass catcher that the Seahawks consistently relied on when they were in game winning situations. An example of this would be the eagles, commanders, and the titans game. And the draft takes are horrible, you are going off BPA and not scheme fits that Macdonald wants
If Geno was good enough, they wouldn't be talking about replacing him. I guess we'll see about my "draft takes," because I just posted what I would have done instead. We'll see who would have had the better draft. Me or clown John Schneider.
You realize that Seattle's run defense was 31st, right? Just how good do you think Byron Murphy needs to be to be a valuable addition? He could be an average run defender and still help the team. It's funny how you think you're a better talent evaluator than analysts who do actual film study on these players. I don't mind cynicism, but you're not a very logical person.
@@SeahawkBoyMikeBara My strong suspicion is that Carroll had a huge influence in those past picks, especially the athletically gifted busts. Look, people have been watching film on Byron Murphy all year, not just the UW game where he was facing off against arguably the best offensive line in the nation. He's the real deal. He's not going to be Aaron Donald right out of the gate, but he's explosive and he makes plays, he's not just a big pocket collapser like a lot of the interior bigs. You'll see. Give him half a season to get acclimated to the scheme and the pro game.
This is some of the stupidest shit I have ever heard. For one nobody is questioning Rattlers potential talent but there are character concerns and if the actually follow the Seahawks you will know the past few seasons character has been right up there with talent on there board and I am willing to bet Rattler wasn't on there board period just as Carter wasn't last year.I would have liked to see us trade up with the Jets #11 to get Penix had he still been on the board to beat out the Raiders and Broncos bur not to #7 to beat out the CRAZY ass Falcons.Murphy ll zero character concerns and is exactly what coach Macdonald wants to help build a wall. How about letting the new HC have a coupme years to try and build a team the way he wants it
Because the Seahawks have now drafted 27 position players since they traded Russell Wilson. They need a QB. If Rattler was a character concern, you wait and take him at #118, #121 or #136. Little to no risk taking him there. But that's what a smart GM would do.
