It is my first year ordering seeds from William Dam. Lots of people are complaining they take too long. On their website they say it will take about 2 months. I was happy my order took much less. Also the germination rate on all my seeds from them far exceeds other local companies.

That's good to hear! Despite their slow shipping times in peak season, I am always so happy with their seeds and I think they are an excellent Canadian resource for veggie and flower seeds.

Not a fan of William Dam seeds. Two months to get a seed order?? William Dam is NOT a fantastic company. They treat their customers like they’re doing them a favour by being their seed provider. Their seeds are curated from other seed producers from all over the globe. Please don’t think for a second that they produce their own seeds, they don’t, and their customer service is ATROCIOUS 👎👎👎

Hey Jennifer! Thanks for taking the time to comment. It’s unfortunate that you’ve had a bad experience with William Dam. I certainly agree that their shipping time takes longer than I would like but I have no bones with the quality of their seeds. That being said I have not had any direct experience with their customer service department. I’m aware that they sell and redistribute seeds from other suppliers, most seed companies work this way. In fact, there are few companies that produce all of their own seed and in that case would be limited to heirlooms/open pollinated varieties. For me, they have competitive pricing on varieties that are difficult to find via Canadian suppliers and are the closest thing to Johnny’s for the Canadian customer (shipping rates to Canada and conversion to CAD is a killer). It’s a bit of a one stop shop for me growing a variety of cut flowers as well as vegetables. Thank you for your input!

I used to like William dam seeds, he doesn’t carry heirloom seeds and I save seeds now so I have to get seeds elsewhere. I’m in zone 2b in Ontario. Can’t wait for this upcoming gardening season

@@cindysquirrelloffgrid9514 If you are looking for a new source for heirloom open pollinated seeds, I HIGHLY recommend Revival Seeds out of Nova Scotia. I think they are the next Baker Creek of Canada. Love their seeds.
