Sebastian you're a living legend in this space, been following you for a long time. Great to hear your recaps on this type of thing, and also appreciate all the videos you take at NAMM each year of the amazing musicians, you by far have the best mobile video setup I've seen. I agree with your comments, those Nord Stage Boards are incredible. I encourage all musicians to play one live and see the quality of those sounds, Trust me you won’t be disappointed!!!
There just seems to be a over saturation of products these days to me. Lot of businesses really competing for that dollar. 😃 Just look at how many synths are out. I’m not sure about other genres but over the last several years gospel musicians have upgraded on how we do music. It’s really tough to get our attention unless it’s something unique or really going to enhance what we already have. You are right about the Nord. I don’t have one but I see the appeal of it. You can hear something about the sounds. I played on Nord a little. I wasn’t as impressed but the control and feel at first glance but it definitely sounds really natural and earthy when listening to them online. Akai really came with it with the features and specs of the mpc key. They made a lot of boards seem obsolete. The subscription/digital business model is also killing the hardware products. I think akai pulled an apple on the keyboard companies. The mpc key was like when M1 chip dropped in MacBook. Killed all pcs in its price range and left companies scrambling. Things are mostly sorted out now as far as competing PCs. Musical instruments will do the same in a few year after people get sick of subscriptions. Whoever wins mobile game in the next few years is who I feel is going to be on top until musicians get tired of having too much gear. Cycles come and go.
