I know we probably should have done this like a YEAR AGO but better late than never right? haha. We are finally sitting down with our blue painters tape to measure and outline our skoolie floor plan and I've never been more nervous but also excited. It's taken me so long to decide because I am just so worried about making the wrong decision every time. BUT we did it. We have our school bus conversion floor plan and layout - finally.

Most realistic bus vlog. Like you said, I’ve seen a lot of videos where people just say what they’re going to put in but don’t explain the frustrating process of deciding what, where and why. So I love this video! Keep em coming! 💕💕

YES!!! I was ddyyyiiinnngggg to see someone’s video of THIS. Tell me what you’re trying to fit. How you’re going to do it. Non negotiables for you etc. hahah. But I’m glad you enjoyed it! I wasn’t sure if it was going to be boring hearing all our thoughts or interesting 😂😂

Idk if you’ve thought of this but that weird skinny spot between the bed and fridge could be great storage for baking pans, laptops, anything flat/skinny. OR you could put a vertical spice cabinet there. A pull out drawer that has multiple shelves for all the spices!

In my kitchen, my pantry cupboard and all my counters have pull out counter top extensions, so that might be worth considering to get some more counter space

So exciting to see it come together. Suggestion!! Consider a long flat drawer at the bottom of the line from the sink to the pantry. Think of it like those drawers you put under a bed. Just frame it out as a base and then add the sink, oven, pantry on top. 😄 can store pans (probably not pots), baking sheets, Tupperware, ziplocs, foil, etc. good luck!

YES!! We'll have kick plates on the cabinets for a long storage like you mentioned. so so excited to have that extra room that would otherwise be wasted!

Just a suggestion. If you guys want more counter space, you can get a sink cover that looks like the counter top you’ll have in. I have seen other van lifers/bus lifers use them and it gives them more room when they need it. When they don’t, store it away. 😊

For the wet bath depending on how everything ends up fiiting in having a tiny flip up bench so tall people (kohen) can sit for the majority of their shower because he forgot to take it consideration that the shower pan will be at least an inch higher than where he was standing That little lip behind seat will be a great place to hang dog gear or possibly some lightweight jackets You should also consider doing additional cabinets or at least shelves above your kitchen space

I love the behind the driver seat storage idea!! the wet bath is definitely going to be .... interesting to make work lol. There will be overhead cabinets along the sink/oven area and another above our seating area! I don't know how I forgot to mention that in this video lol.

@@MyDriftingDesk oops probably should have edited this comment after you mentioned that on Instagram also in the video it looked like the wasn't keeping in mind the extra hight of the shower pan so he is going to have less space than he thinks

If you haven’t already, look into a carbon monoxide detector since you have propane! I’m sure there’s one out there that could alert you from your phone too for when you leave the doggos alone

I agree with what Kohen said about covering the sink and stove for extra counter space. Can you build cabinets like above the sink and stuff or no? By the door I think would be a good spot for like shoes and coats.

YES! We didn’t even talk about it in this video lol. But we plan on doing over head cabinets over the sink, counter, and oven area. And then more open overhead shelf above the seating area! & we haven’t decided what to do with the door area but definitely some type of shoe storage or ~something~ haha

You could always make like a wood thing to put over the oven and sink so you have the extra counter space and then store it by the fridge in the small space

Where is your toilet going? Also, have you thought about storage above where the sink and stove will be? I love the idea of a mirror/medicine cabinet idea you had by the sink & shower! like the layout and can’t wait to see the end product!

The compost toilet will live in the “shower” it’ll be a “wet bath” concept. Whenever we want to shower we’ll pull the toilet out of the way so we have the full shower. But then you have a ~bathroom~ with the toilet inside of that “room” for more privacy. 😇

I feel like the shower and sink should go towards the bed instead of the driver seat. I feel like mixing water with the dash being so close is not an ideal idea. Seems like there would be more wiring towards the head of the bus. Also, having a chunky blocked off space as soon as your enter may feel more closed?

You’ll need to lift the oven up a little so it’s the same high as your counter.

Oh yes of course. It’ll sit on a cabinet base with drawers under it so everything is the same height!

Oh no. If only I would have mentioned at the beginning of the video that this was going to be a brain dump video with a lot of talking to really show the process of how we are choosing our layout. 😩 dang.
