One of the Nebula Nano clips had the saturation jacked up from where I was trying to fix the low-light image. I replaced it with a clip that wasn't jacked up.

I spent about five minutes trying everything including changing EV and modes. But I didn't put that whole five minutes in the video because I didn't think that was a good use of your time. However you can see me change the EV towards the end of the little clip that I showed.

This might just get the weight within "reason" for a digital whoop. I've been able to run a 1s dji toothpick using a pololu step up. It was just a tad to heavy with the standard nebula camera. Cheers!!

I still fly analog myself. But quality looks good for these digital cams. Won’t go digital myself for quite some time. It would call for revamping ALL my kwads and getting different goggles. But it does look good, none the less.

The 120fps cams are a no-brainer when they’re available, imo. I don’t really notice the latency difference but the better resolution and the ability to switch aspect ratio is a huge component to my comfort and enjoyment of the total experience in the goggles. Exciting to see new options in this size!!

The Polar nano doesn't have starlight does it? I just got the Polar Nano with Naked Vista... and this drops... son of a... haha Anyway... working on have a Starlight Cam copy of my mains. So have 2 full size Polars in 5" and 7" and a polar Nano in 3" , the rest will be Full 120fps goodness. It's mostly about the 4:3 for me.. I don't think i really notice the lag, but I fly pretty cruisish... Tracer or crossfire I can't tell either soo...

Get Elrs and set up your quad right.. You need some tweeks in Betaflight to notice the difference (RC input filtering) Kiss does it better (doesn't even has RC input filtering I guess..)

it was me.... it was me who said the nebula nano was ok-ish, if you came from an ev 800d and 165deg 16-9 micro eagle... then the nano 16-9 on the dji screen was, a lot to take in... but ok-ish.... hehehe, only actually flew it two packs, just if you have nothing else, its still better than analogue, but maan that 16-9 fov in dji goggles is bordering on virtual reality.

I think the problem lies in that Caddx didn't differentiate between the Nebula nano V1 and V2. You are right! The Nebula Nano V1 is pretty damn awful, especially when facing the sun and trees are in between the sun and you. It puts a haze on the image, almost like the trees are covered with ice. But, the Nebula Nano V2 seemed to fix the haze issue about 90% ! Here is the issue...Caddx didn't tell anyone which batch was V1 or V2, so when you buy a BNF with the Nebula Nano, you have to research when the quad was released to see if it was before or after the V2 came out! It also depends on when the dealer got the BNF in stock. So, it makes it much tougher than it needed to be!!! Caddx, please do not do that ever again....mark on the box V1 or V2 so it is clear to all buying the item...whether it be just a Vista, or a BNF with either version in it. ;) Anyway you look at it, the Nebula Nano V2 is far and away better than ANY analog or SharkByteMe camera on the market. It's not even close. (go ahead SB fan boys, lay it on me with your arguments, and I will completely ignore you....as I should... lol :) )

Yes! You just have to buy a AlphaRC Fi115 frame, get naked (vista), AIO FC and you will get a beautiful Tinyhawk 2 freestyle quad.

Nebula pro nano all the way, or the runcam one if it is as good. I got to have the 120fps and all that the settings that come with it.

Thx Joshua ! I bought a Polar Nano just a few hours before the Nebula Pro Nano got announced. I prefer the 4:3 ratio but I intend to use it only indoor. Do you think the Polar Nano might handle indoor light better than the Pro ? Or indoor light (home) is way sufficient for the nano pro without grain ? Thx !

Yup, check out at 6:11. Polar or Polar Nano has large FOV, you should be able to see up and down as good as 4:3

It feels that camera here is the smallest problem. The main problem is with weight of transmitter. It is super heavy comparing to analogue, and produce a lot more heat

That picture quality is excellent. I'm flying the Betafpv 35 and wonder why there's so much blurriness in the shaded areas and in grassy areas with my Caddx Polar?

It's how image transmission work. Try change low latency to High Quality. If you're on 25mbps, consider change to 50mbps.

Probably a dumb question but how are you securing the vista in the frame I want to do a build and short of just vhb-ing it in is there something that I am missing?

It has 20mm mounting holes for M2 screws. But if you're using the Naked Vista you also want to use some standoffs to separate the boards.

when you fly the DJI "naked board", did you noticed any issues (especially heat related) by not having the heat sink anymore? Did it freezes or stopped working? Or was the heat sink useless to start with? (and more of a dirt cover)

The naked board is faster to overheat but as long as you're flying it's fine. If you plug in and sit still, it will shut down faster.

May be off base but I thought Nick Burns said the original Nano got an update and the image is better than the first rev. Maybe some still think it sucks but I thought it was okay. No longer had the awful tinged and compression across large swathes.

When you tested the Nebula Nano pro in low light did you set it to 60fps - that's the only fair way to compare it? The regular Nebula Pro is far better(obviously) at 60fps at night.

Hi JB, any idea why the Nebula Pro Nano test video from Painless 360 ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kP94tfZw4_s.html ) and AndyRC ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WIuAVjJ-w14.html ) both often show a blurry region in the center of the video image while the periphery remains sharp and clear. I did see this phenomenon in your test video (especially from 3:12 to 3:31). Is there some user setting(s) that may need to be changed on either the camera or the goggles to avoid that blurry effect from occurring? Undesirable white balance changes also occur in their videos, see especially here in AndyRC's video ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WIuAVjJ-w14.html ). Can this white balance problem be easily corrected in the user settings of this camera?

Seems to me that on small quads weight and latency matter a lot more than image quality, or they do to me, anyway. I typically use analogue where camera + vtx + antennae is about 6g, give or take. What is the equivalent here?

12.4 grams, without antenna. I got a dipole on my digital twig it works great.

@@hildy2222 interesting, say 2g for a light dipole, 8.4g extra weight vs better image. Not a lot but on a 200g quad that is 4%, so for me and maybe I'm a bit OTT on these things, that would be a deal breaker.

@@edcbabc to me the image quality is worth the extra weight, but my twig is by far the lightest 3” I’ve ever had, and it’s digital. Auw a lil over 100g 2-3s 1303s. This new cam really makes the weight manageable for 2” and under. Unless it’s an actual tiny whoop I can’t feel the extra 6-8 grams but the image quality is many times better and no static. 60fps looks shit in the goggles but this new cam does 120. Can’t wait for the USA shops to get them in stock. I’ll put one in my twig and build something smaller, maybe 2” whoop again

@@hildy2222 well, yes, it is personal preference. I'm all for mininum weight, low latency and performance (and low price!), don't keep recordings so don't care about image quality providing I can see what I'm doing, which I can. You obviously have different priorities, which is fair enough. What worries me about digital is that it will in the end push analogue out, or at least it will be harder to come by and the cost will go up. But maybe by then the digital market will be different.

@@edcbabc I don't keep any recordings, unless someone wants me to. My priorities are just having fun lol. I would rather have slight variable latency when I'm behind myself and 10 houses compared to too much static to fly behind only 3-4 with a patch pointed at it. I still love my mobula6 but anything bigger I would prefer the robust signal and image quality only the dji system can provide. I don't worry about the future market of old technology too much. I could care less what black and white TVs are selling for or how long ago they stopped producing them. I got a 65" 4k now lol. The DJI system is basically like a 4k TV that came out in the 80s but it was the only one so people hated on it

I recently went “naked” on a Vista Air Unit Lite and lost exactly 10.0g. Then you have to factor in an added 0.5G for 4mm spacers between the boards so it’s about 9.5g of net saved weight.

No. DJI FPV components are only compatible with each other. Caddx, Runcam, and Foxeer are allowed to make DJI-compatible cameras, but the vTX only works with the DJI FPV goggles.

What in the over sharpened is going on here??!!! But seriously is there a way to reduce sharpness? It's artifacting like crazy and not really resolving extra details, just sharpening edges. Up close it's good. But everything from medium to far distance looks way too over sharpened. I think the runcam Phoenix got it right, bit obviously not 120fps

Why Nebula Pro? - image quality is as good as DJI camera - able to adjust camera parameters in DJI FPV Goggles camera menu - 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratio can be changed in DJI FPV Goggles camera menu Why Polar Starlight? - flyable at dawn to dusk (excel at low-light) - camera parameters can be changed using external joystick (16:9 aspect ratio cannot be changed) Get nano only if your quad is too tiny to carry full-sized camera or want to keep weight low.

OMG ! ... Another Freaking Camera ! ... I have 10 now ! ... All of them are Not Perfect and soon to be Obsolete .... There will be another New , Not Perfect Camera coming out Next Month and every month after that ... All for a Quad that flies for 4 minutes doing flips and tricks around your Backyard .....
